Stampin’ Up! and Scouting

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this before or not, but I am the den leader for my son Luca’s cub scout den.  This is my third year with my crew, and I adore them!  It’s a lot of work, and sometimes dealing with five 6 year old boys at once can be a little overwhelming, but it’s also a lot of fun!  Believe it or not, I use a lot of my Stampin’ Up! stuff with the boys.  We’ve done crafts, made signs, made cards for nursing home residents, and more!  Today I am featuring a few projects that I have created specifically for scouts using Stampin’ Up! products!

The card above was made for local businesses who allowed the boys to sell popcorn outside their stores this year.  The Girl Scouts sell cookies…we sell popcorn!  I made a bunch of these that they will all sign at our meeting tomorrow night.  This whole card is made with Stampin’ Up! products, with the exception of the fleur de lis stamp in the background.  That came from the local craft store.  The thank you stamp is from the Daisy Delight stamp set, and is stamped in Basic Gray ink.  The fleur de lis is stamped in Crushed Curry, and the cardstock colors are Night of Navy, Crushed Curry, and Whisper White – perfect colors for Cub Scouts!

Here’s another project I completed for our meeting area.  I purchased a piece of navy blue foam board from the local craft store and cut out all of the letters for the words with the Large Letters Framelits.  I used the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets on the back of the cardstock before running through the Big Shot so that I could just peel the backing off and adhere to the board.  Super easy!  Again, Crushed Curry and Whisper White cardstock were used on this project.

And finally, this last project was actually made for our local Girl Scout troop!  A friend of mine is a Girl Scout leader and she asked me to make these signs for an event they were having.  Some of the colors used are now retired, as I made these awhile ago, but other colors could easily be substituted.  The Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets were used with these as well.  I LOVE using the multipurpose adhesive sheets with projects like this!  While they are a little more work at the start, they definitely make the final assembly of projects so much easier (and a lot less messy!) I highly recommend them for adhering die cut images!

I thought I’d share these projects today for something a little different.  They’re just one way to show how versatile Stampin’ Up’s products are! Questions?  Please ask!

Thanks for visiting today!
