3 x 3 Valentine’s Day Mini Note Cards in a Matching Mini Pizza Box

Here’s a little bonus post for today!  If you are visiting my blog for the first time from our January Facebook Hop, WELCOME!  I hope that you will visit again soon!  🙂

Each month my team does a Facebook hop, which is similar to a blog hop in that a bunch of us post projects on our Facebook pages and then we each post a link to the next person’s page.  You click on each link as you go page to page until you get back to where you started.  When you get back to the post you started on, the hop is complete!

Our Facebook hops usually have a theme, and this month’s theme is Valentine’s Day, Hearts, and Love!  I LOVE mini note cards for Valentine’s Day!  I made this set of three mini cards with matching envelopes, along with a decorated mini pizza box to hold them all.  The mini pizza boxes are the perfect size for 3 x 3 note cards and their envelopes, and you can fit quite of few of them in there!  For this project I only made three, but I plan to add a few wrapped chocolate hearts to the box as well.  The box is plenty deep enough to hold all three cards and envelopes, as well as the chocolate!

All three cards are made with the Heart Happiness stamp set, and I also used the Sure Do Love You Bundle and Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set as well.  They are all accented with stickers from the Painted Love Gold Vinyl Sticker set.  The envelopes are decorated using most of the same items! Here’s a close up of the envelopes:

I have to admit that I was a little wary of using the gold stickers, as I am definitely more of a SILVER girl!  I was hesitant to even buy them as I VERY rarely use gold on projects.  (Trust me, I have a huge pile of unused gold Metallics Enamel Shapes, because I go through the silver ones like crazy!)  But I have to admit, after using these stickers on this project, I really love them!  Just as a side note, there is a tiny error in the catalog for this item.  They are on page 19, and in the product description, it says you get one sheet each of two designs, but you actually get TWO sheets of each!  Just something to keep in mind if you see them while browsing the catalog! The stickers are all gold foil on clear vinyl, are die cut, and have a large variety of designs such as hearts, brush strokes, leaves, polka dots, and more!  They are the perfect way to add a bit of shine to your projects!

As for the box, I used the new Painted With Love Specialty Designer Series Paper for the background.  It is cut to 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 inches.  I then cut and embossed a Powder Pink heart using the Sweet and Sassy Framelits and Polka Dot Basics Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  The sentiment and banner piece are both from the Sure Do Love You Bundle, which includes both the stamps and cutting dies.  And of course purchasing both items together saves you 10% off the cost of purchasing them separately!

This project was fairly quick and easy to make, as the designs are clean and simple.  I hope you like it!  If this is your first time visiting my Facebook page and/or blog, I would love it if you liked and followed my page!  If you have any questions regarding this project, any other projects on my page, or questions about Stampin’ Up!, please feel free to contact me anytime!  I would be happy to help you with anything you need!

Do you love a great deal?  I know I do!  Why not consider joining Stampin’ Up! during Sale-a-Bration?  It’s always a great time to join, but during Sale-a-Bration you get EXTRA perks when you sign up!  For starters, in addition to the regular $125 of new product of your choice, you also get TWO additional stamp sets of your choice for FREE!

That’s right!  First, YOU get to choose what’s in your starter kit!  It’s not a cookie cutter starter kit that is sent to everyone who joins.  YOU get to choose what’s in it!  Want all stamps?  Sure!  Want all embellishments and tools?  Sure!  Whatever YOU choose is what you will receive in your kit!  Just choose $125 of any product currently available in any catalog or the online store, and that’s what you will receive in your kit!

But during Sale-a-Bration, you also get to choose ANY TWO additional stamp sets to add to your kit!  There is no price limit or stamp type you must choose. So depending which sets you choose, that could be an added value of up to $102, just in free stamp sets!

So far, we’ve got $125 in product of your choice, plus another two stamp sets of your choice for up to $102 in additional product!  Plus it all ships for FREE!  So if you factor in the $12.50 in shipping you would normally pay on order of that size, your starter kit is potentially worth as much as much as $240!  And you pay only $99 for it when you join during Sale-a-Bration!  Sounds like a great deal to me!  🙂

In addition to your new products, you’ll also receive some catalogs and other business supplies as well.  However, you do NOT need to actually sell anything to anyone!  You can sign up just to get a great discount FOR YOURSELF, on all of the products you already love!

So have I convinced you?  Why not give it a try?  Please click HERE to join my team!  I am looking to welcome new team members this year and would really love to have you be part of it!  🙂

Myths & Magic Mermaid Card PLUS It’s Time to Sale-a-Brate!

When I saw the new Myths and Magic Suite in the Occasions catalog, I instantly fell in love with it!  Think mermaids, unicorns, wizards, knights, and dragons!  The suite contains a stamp and cutting die bundle called Magical Day.  There’s also Designer Series Paper, Glimmer Paper, and Washi Tape, that all perfectly coordinate to make fun projects!  My first attempt at using the suite is the card above.  The Magical Day Bundle includes both the Magical Day stamp set, as well as the Magical Mates Framelits Dies.  There are twelve stamps in the set and 16 dies with the framelits!  And of course, purchasing the bundle will save you 10% over purchasing the items separately!

For this card, I paired Bermuda Bay with Lemon Lime Twist for the colors.  The mermaid and seahorse were stamped in Basic Black Archival Ink and then hand colored with Stampin’ Write Markers.  They were then cut with the coordinating dies on the Big Shot.  The little leaves on the right were cut from the glimmer paper in the suite using dies from the same set.  It’s hard to see in the pic above, but I went over the mermaid’s tail with Clear Wink of Stella.  I love how it gives the card just a bit of extra shimmer and shine!  Here’s a close up:

Other items used on this card include the Stitched Shapes Framelits, Layering Ovals Framelits, and the Seaside Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Here’s a glimpse at all of the items in the Myths and Magic Suite:

Magical Day Bundle

Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper

Myths & Magic 6 x 6 Glimmer Paper

Myths & Magic Specialty Washi Tape

I love this suite, and can’t wait to play with it more!

Also, don’t forget TODAY is the official start of Occasions and Sale-a-Bration!  Which means that it’s officially time to order from the new Occasions Catalog!  You also earn a FREE Sale-a-Bration item with every $50 you spend!  Sale-a-Bration is a great time to stock up on all your favorite Stampin’ Up! products because you definitely get a bigger bang for your buck!  Click here to visit the online store and shop today!

Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy your day!

Time to Say Goodbye to the 2017 Holiday Catalog

I know I said that I was done sharing Holiday projects, but then I received this card from a demo friend and it was too cute not to share!  This card was made by Pamela Carey-Mackenzie, and features the Smitten Mittens Photopolymer Bundle!  Sadly, this item retires TODAY, along with the Holiday Catalog itself.  🙁

But as one door closes, another usually opens, so although the Holiday Catalog is retiring, that means that Occasions and Sale-a-Bration are right around the corner!  Those begin TOMORROW, and you are going to LOVE them!

Be sure to visit the Online Store one more time TODAY to scoop up some great deals on remaining Holiday Catalog items!  But don’t wait too long, as after today, they will be gone for good!  To go to the Retiring Items section of the Online Store, click here.

Hope you all have a great day!  Thanks for checking in!

Fun and Fruity Tags

Happy New Year, Everyone!  Hope you have a great day today celebrating!  I made these adorable tags in November at OnStage. I love the fun colors and teeny tiny fruit!  These tags use items from the new Tutti Frutti suite in the Occasions Catalog.  The stamps and punches are from the Fruit Basket Bundle, which contains the 25 piece Fruit Basket Photopolymer stamp set, as well as four coordinating mini punches.  Use the punches to punch a tiny pear, pineapple, strawberry, or fruit slice!  For these, we used the pineapple and pear, which each measure just about 1/2 inch tall.  Here’s a peek at the complete bundle:

Of course, the stamps and punches can be purchased separately as well, but purchasing them together as a bundle will save you 10%!

These tags also use the new Tutti Frutti 6×6 Designer Series Paper and a new ribbon called Lemon Lime Twist 3/8″ Mini Striped Ribbon.

I LOVE the color palette in this suite!  It reminds me of sunshine and warmth, which I could definitely use some of right now!  (As I write this, it is -1 degree where I live!)  Here’s a peek at the colors in the suite:

To see the complete Tutti Fruity Suite, please check out pages 28-29 in the Occasions Catalog.  Don’t have one?  Contact me, and I would be happy to send one out to you!
Enjoy your day!  And again, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

My First Brush with Brusho!

In yesterday’s post, I featured a card that I made using a new product from the Occasions Catalog called Brusho.  Brusho is watercolor crystals that basically explode with color when you add water!  They are SO much fun to use!  They will be available to order starting January 3rd, and can be found on page 26 of the Occasions Catalog.  Stampin’ Up! sells them as a set of five different colors:

Brilliant Red

Gamboge (Orange)

Moss Green

Prussian Blue

Each canister measures about 1-3/4 inches tall, but contains a LOT of crystals!  And you only need a very small amount, as you’ll see below.  Also, for the colors that are “blends”, such as the Gamboge and Moss Green, the crystals are mixes of two colors, so when you use them, you get some great variation in the finished color!  So for example, the Gamboge is a mix of red and yellow crystals.  You can either blend a little and keep some flecks of red and yellow OR you can blend them completely to get the orange!

The first thing I did with mine was use my Paper Piercing Tool to punch a hole in the top of each canister.  I didn’t open the canister at all first, just punched a hole right through the label and everything.  I did this to make a shaker out of each canister.

I only punched one hole in each to start, but I found that one is all I need, at least for now!  I also placed a thumb tack in each hole before putting them away.  I don’t have a pic of that, but the tacks make a great plug in case they fall over, or my kids get a hold of them when I’m not looking!  I do NOT want the crystals to end up everywhere!  🙂

As a side note, if you don’t have a Paper Piercing Tool, I highly recommend getting one!  I use mine ALL the time, and probably the only thing I don’t use it for is paper piercing! In addition to punching holes in the Brusho containers, I also use it to apply small embellishments to projects, punch small pieces from die cuts, remove layers and pieces that I want to move after I’ve applied them to projects, and so much more!  It is a VERY versatile tool to have, and should definitely be part of any stamper’s toolbox!

Ok, so let’s get back to Brusho!  For my first attempt at using this product, I wanted to use a mix of the yellow, gamboge, and brilliant red for the flower.  I used the large flower from the new Beautiful Day set, and stamped it and heat embossed it in white embossing powder.  Once that was done and cooled, I applied the Brusho.  Since I had never used it before, I just went ahead and sprinkled the colors all over the flower where I wanted them.  This is what it looked like before I used the Aqua Painter to add the water:

It doesn’t look like much, right?  Here’s what happened when I went over it with the Aqua Painter:

See how vibrant the colors are?  Even just from that tiny amount of crystal powder!  As I mentioned above, you need very little to get bright, brilliant color when using this!  How gorgeous are those colors?

So as much as I liked this flower, I really wanted to try to get one with more yellow in the center.  So I put the first one aside, and tried again.  For my second attempt, I decided to only do ONE color at a time, rather than apply all three at once.  So here’s the before and after with the first color I used, which was the yellow:

Then I added the gamboge around the yellow.  Here’s a pic of what it looked like after I blended the orange with the aqua painter, but before I used it on the red.  The powder that you see on the paper is the red crystals:

I then added the water to the whole flower and got that gorgeous red I was looking for in the outer petals!

Again, see how much color you get from a small amount?  Even though most of the yellow blended in to the gamboge, I decided to go ahead and use this flower on my finished card!  I blended the colors a bit more first, let it dry, and then fussy cut it using Paper Snips.

Here is a pic of the finished card:

In the catalog, it shows a quick picture tutorial of how another way you can use Brusho, by applying the water first, then adding the crystals and blending, which is the opposite of how I used them here.  Check it out on page 26 of the catalog if you have a chance!  Either way, you get bright, beautiful color that will look great on finished cards, tags, and more!

I also plan to use it more as soon as I get the chance!  I have lots of ideas of what I want to do with it, I just need to find time!  My boys go back to school January 2nd and then it will be time for me to play!  🙂

In the meantime, here’s a short video from Stampin’ Up! all about Brusho:

I hope you’ve enjoyed my Brusho post!   Brusho will be available starting January 3rd in the online store!  Have a great day!

Here’s a list of suggested tools and products for using Brusho:

Bold Floral Card with TWO of My Favorite Occasions Products!

Today’s card features two of my favorite NEW Occasions products: the Beautiful Day stamp set and Brusho Crystal Color watercolor crystals!

The new Beautiful Day stamp set features five rubber stamps, including a large butterfly, a large flower, two sentiments, and an accent stamp.  It’s available in both wood mount and clear mount, and will be available to order starting January 3rd!  For this card, I used the flower stamp, along with a sentiment from a different set called Petal Palette (also a new Occasions product!)  Here’s a peek at the full Beautiful Day set:

To start, I heat embossed the flower in white embossing powder on watercolor paper.  I then applied the Brusho, and colored with an Aquapainter to get the bright, bold colors!  (I am not going to talk too much about the Brusho today, as I plan to do a whole post about it tomorrow.  I hope you’ll check back for the details then!)  But I will say this: it is SUCH a fun product to use!  If you love watercoloring, or love how watercoloring looks on projects, you are definitely going to want to give it a try!

Here’s a peek at the Brusho packaging:

Don’t let the plain black and white packaging fool you!  There’s a whole bunch of color in that unassuming little box!

Once the flower was colored and dry, I layered the top layer of the card with Real Red cardstock on a Basic Black base, stamped the sentiment from Petal Palette in black, and added some leaves in Lemon Lime Twist.  (I stamped and punched the leaves with the Painted Harvest Bundle, and used Versamark ink on the veins of the leaves, just to add a hint of detail.)  The flower was fussy cut with Paper Snips, and applied to the card with Dimensionals, so it pops off the card a bit and really stands out!

Tomorrow’s post will be all about Brusho!  Hope you’ll check back to learn more about this new product and how fun it can be to use!  Have a great day!
