So this week in the US is Teacher Appreciation Week! Since I am a former teacher myself, I have a special place in my heart for the events of this week. I have two young boys, one in preschool and one in kindergarten. So for this week, I wanted to make something special for the teachers and staff at each of their schools!
The gifts shown in the pic above were made for my little guy Max’s teachers at his preschool. He goes to a small, private, rural preschool, and there are four teachers there. I made them each a Mini Pizza box filled with 10 gold foil wrapped chocolate hearts, and a note that reads “You have a heart of gold, thank you for all you do.” I decorated each the same, with a 3 x 10 inch strip of the NEW Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper, just in a different design. There is a LOT of green in this paper, and green is my favorite color, so I really, really love this paper! On these, I used Goil Foil Paper for the heart, and cut them with a die from the retiring Mini Treat Bag Thinlits dies set. I also wrapped a piece of Silver 3/8″ Metallic-Edge Ribbon around each box. Here’s a peek at the DSP designs:
And some close ups of the boxes themselves:
For my older son’s school, I had to make 95 gifts! So it was not practical to make the gifts as shown above! So for his school, what I did instead was place three of the chocolate hearts into a small cello bag, placed the same scalloped square note in the bag, and tied it closed with a ribbon:
These were much easier to make since I had to make so many! I then placed them all in a large basket with a sign next to it saying they were for Teacher Appreciation Week and placed them on the table in the main office of the school for everyone to take one as they walked by! For these, I used Gold Glimmer Paper for the hearts, as well as various colored ribbons to try to use up some of my stash of ribbon!
I got the idea for these from Pinterest (of course). Why not make a simple gift for the teachers in your life? It doesn’t take long, and I am sure it would be very much appreciated!
