Who says hearts are only for Valentine’s Day and weddings? Here’s a quick tip for making shamrocks for St. Patrick’s Day using HEARTS! Cut three hearts and a small straight piece of cardstock for the stem, then put them together as shown above to make a shamrock! Super easy!
Last night I was putting together a St. Patrick’s Day banner for a class I am doing this weekend. I have a group of friends who all have fireplaces and love to decorate their mantels for all the different holidays thoughout the year. So we have gotten together a few times over the past year to make a bunch of different banners. So far, we’ve made Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day ones. This weekend, we are doing St. Patrick’s Day and Easter!
For these shamrocks, I used the smallest heart die from the Sweet & Sassy Framelits. I cut three hearts from the green Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper, as well as a smaller piece for the stem. I used a die from the Bouquet Bunch Framelits for the stem, but it would be really easy to cut one freehand if you don’t have the dies! I then arranged them as above and glued them down. That’s it! For these, I used the Multipurpose Glue, but I think from now on, I’ll use the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets! So easy, and with the Sweet & Sassy Framelits set, you can make shamrocks in a bunch of different sizes that range from small to large! There are also two different styles of hearts in the set. One is a more simple and straight style, and the other is more curvy. You can use either, depending on your preference for how your want your final shamrock to look! I used the straighter style for mine.
These dies are available in the online store and are used with the Big Shot! This is a great item to have on hand for lots of different occasions’ crafts!
Thank you for visiting today! Hope you have a great day!
