It’s time for our November Color Fusers Blog Hop! We’ve got a festive color combo today of Copper, Pretty Peacock, and Cherry Cobbler. Please be sure to click though all of our blogs to see all of the projects that my talented teammates have created!
My project today features the Christmas Layers Dies, along with a sentiment from the Merry Moose stamp set. To make this card, I first cut a 4-1/2 x 4-1/2 inch piece of Shimmery White cardstock, and then carefully tore along each edge in order to make a square approximately 3-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches in size. I then took a small spray bottle and added 1/2 water and 1/2 rubbing alcohol, as well as about 10 drops of ink from a Pretty Peacock ink refill. After shaking well, I spritzed the color to cover the square. I then used an AquaPainter and Pretty Peacock ink pad to spatter some darker ink spots on the cardstock. I then set it aside to dry.
While the square was drying, I cut a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock and embossed it using the Scripty Embossing Folder. I also cut the snowflakes from Copper Foil using the Christmas Layers Dies, and stamped the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink using a stamp from the Merry Moose stamp set. The ends of the sentiment piece were trimmed by hand using Paper Snips.
Before assembling the card, I used a stamp from the Nature’s Beauty set to stamp some detail in Pretty Peacock ink. I then assembled the rest of the card using Snail adhesive, Mini Dimensionals, and the Fine Tip Glue Pen. I finished the card by adding some tiny snowflakes using Multipurpose Glue.
Measurements for this card are as follows:
Shimmery White cardstock base: 4-1/4 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)
Cherry Cobbler cardstock strip: 4-1/4 x 2 inches
Shimmery White cardstock top layer: 4-1/2 x 4-1/2 inches (torn by hand to measure approximately 3-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches in size)
Shimmery White sentiment piece: 2-1/2 x 1/2 inch
Copper Foil piece for die cut snowflakes: 3 x 4 inches
