Welcome to our Color Fusers March 2020 blog hop! Today, we have a really pretty color combo to share! I just love the combination of green and brown together. I love it so much, that it was actually my color scheme for my wedding in 2008. I wore a light ivory gown, and my bridesmaids wore dark brown. All of my accents were different shades of green, including my main flowers, which were green Cymbidium Orchids. I made all of my own wedding stationery, and though I was not a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator at the time, I used Stampin’ Up! products in everything I made. My Stampin’ Up! colors were Certainly Celery (now retired), Early Espresso, and Very Vanilla. (Not EXACTLY the colors used today’s project, but on the same idea)!
For today’s project, I used the Parisian Beauty and Forever Blossoms stamp sets, as well as the Parisian Dies:
To make this card, I used Soft Suede card stock for the base, then Pear Pizzazz for the middle layer, and Very Vanilla for the top. I wanted a very soft look for this card, so any stamped images were stamped off at least twice in order to leave it very light in color.
I stamped the blossoms on the background in Mint Macaron ink. I stamped each off twice before stamping onto my final layer. I then used the script stamp from Parisian Beauty to stamp some script in multiple spots using Soft Suede. Those were stamped off three times each before stamping the final images. I then used a sponge dauber to sponge some Pear Pizzazz ink very lightly in the center of each large flower, as well as some Crumb Cake lightly along the edges.
The Eiffel Tower was cut from Crumb Cake card stock using the large die from the Parisian Dies set, and the “merci” was cut in Pear Pizzazz using a die from the same set. (I had originally planned to use Soft Suede for the tower, but I felt it was too dark, so I went with the lighter color!) Once the two top layers were adhered together with Snail adhesive, I attached them to the base using Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish this card, I added three small pearls to the front, as well as a simple sentiment from the By the Dock stamp set to the inside:
Measurements for this card are as follows:
Soft Suede card stock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half).
Pear Pizzazz card stock middle layer: 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches
Very Vanilla card stock top layer: 3-3/4 x 5 inches
Crumb Cake Eiffel Tower piece: 2-3/4 x 5 inches
Pear Pizzazz “merci” piece: 1/2 x 2-1/2 inches
