Color Fusers Blog Hop for January 2020

It’s the first Monday of the month, and that means it’s time for our Color Fusers Blog Hop! This month, we’ve got a great combo of Blueberry Bushel, Rich Razzleberry, Basic Gray, and Basic Black to share with you!

I have always loved music! When I was younger, I played the flute and piccolo in the school band, and I was voted Most Musical my senior year of high school. It’s been a long time since I’ve played, but I’ve always loved anything with music notes, or a sheet music theme. So when I saw the new Music From the Heart stamp set, it was one of the first things I put on my new catalog wish list! It includes 19 stamps, and it’s a photopolymer set, so it makes it very easy to line up those little notes on the staff. Here’s a peek at the full set:

I just LOVE the hand drawn look of this set!

I decided to make this card on the simple side, and instead dressed it up a bit with some epoxy hearts and extra shimmer. I used Shimmery White card stock for the top layer, then used Basic Gray for the middle, and Basic Black as my base. I did a light watercolor wash using Rich Razzleberry ink, let it dry, then stamped the staff in Basic Gray. I then stamped the clef and notes in StazOn Black ink. (Quick tip for the notes: instead of stamping each note individually, I placed the three note stamps face down where I wanted them, then pressed ONE block onto all three of them before inking them up. This allowed me to stamp all three at once, and get perfect placement as well!) I then stamped the birds and sentiment in Blueberry Bushel ink, added two epoxy hearts (the small one was colored with my dark Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Blends marker), then I added a little Wink of Stella to both hearts and birds for some extra shimmer. The card was finished with a simple crinkle ribbon wrapped around the base. It’s also hard to tell from the pictures, but the top and middle layers are raised off the base a bit with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals, to give it just a little height and make the whole thing pop a bit!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Basic Black card stock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Basic Gray card stock middle layer: 3-3/4 x 5 inches

Shimmery White card stock top layer: 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 inches

This set is now available, along with many other fantastic new products, in the new January-June Mini Catalog! Combined with the new Sale-a-Bration brochure, there are many, many fantastic new products available! (Take a peek at both using the links to the right.) Color Fusers Blog Hop for March 2019

Welcome to the Color Fusers Blog Hop for March! Today we are featuring projects made with the following colors: Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, and Smoky Slate!

I used three different stamp sets on this card: Love What You Do, Touches of Texture, and Kindness & Compassion. I also used the Stitched Rectangle Framelits, Whisper White 1/8 inch Sheer Ribbon, and Pearl Basic Jewels.

The steps to create this card are as follows:

  1. Cut the card base from Gorgeous Grape cardstock and fold in half.
  2. Cut the middle layer from Smoky Slate cardstock.
  3. Cut the top layer from Whisper White on the Big Shot using the Stitched Rectangle Framelits.
  4. Ink up the watercolor image stamp from Love What You Do with Highland Heather ink and stamp off the ink one time. Then stamp onto the Whisper White piece.
  5. Stamp the floral image from Touches of Texture in Smoky Slate ink.
  6. Stamp the sentiment from Kindness & Compassion in Smoky Slate ink.
  7. Watercolor the flowers with Gorgeous Grape ink using an Aqua Painter. Set aside to dry.
  8. Stamp the floral images from Love What You Do in the corners of the card base in Gorgeous Grape ink.
  9. When dry, adhere the Whisper White top layer to the Smoky Slate middle layer with Snail Adhesive. Then apply to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  10. Make a small bow from the 1/8 inch Whisper White Sheer Ribbon and adhere with a glue dot.
  11. Color some small pearls from the Pearls Basics Jewels with a Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends marker and apply to the card.
  12. Stamp your envelope to match (if desired).

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Gorgeous Grape cardstock card base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Smoky Slate cardstock middle layer: 3-1/2 x 4-7/8 inches

Whisper White top layer: 3-3/8 x 4-3/4 inches

Color Fusers Blog Hop for February 2019

Today I have the privilege of joining a very talented group of demonstrators: The Color Fusers Design Team! I am very excited and honored to have been asked to join them! Each month, we will post a project created with a specific set of Stampin’ Up! colors. This month’s colors are Petal Pink, Poppy Parade, Early Espresso, Basic Black, and Whisper White.

My card today features a watercolor wash in Poppy Parade, and a large floral design heat embossed in black. I added a layer of Petal Pink between my top layer and base, which I made using Early Espresso. I did not have any Petal Pink ribbon, so I colored some 1/8 inch Whisper White Sheer Ribbon with my Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends. I LOVE how you can make your own embellishments with the Blends! In addition to ribbon, I have also colored pearls, rhinestones, epoxy shapes, and more! The card is finished with some Petal Pink pearls from the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls, and has a pretty die cut sentiment piece made with the Stitched Labels Framelits.

The stamp set I used for this card is called All That You Are, and it’s one of my favorite new stamp sets from the new Occasions Catalog! Here’s a peek at the full set:

The mix of images and sentiments make this a great set to have in your collection!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Early Espresso cardstock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Petal Pink middle layer: 3-3/4 x 5 inches

Whisper White top layer: 3-5/8 x 4-7/8 inches

Die cut sentiment piece: 7/8 x 3 inches (approximate)

Thank so much for stopping by! Please be sure to visit the other stops on our hop today! Up next is Melissa Kerman, who always has something beautiful to share! 🙂

Simple Stamping Sunday: Dandelion Wishes

My Simple Stamping card for today was made with the Dandelion Wishes stamp set! It also uses Soft Sea Foam, Pool Party, and StazOn Black inks.

Both the image and sentiment are from the same stamp set. One of the guidelines of a Simple Stamping card is to use only ONE stamp set. To review, the full guidelines are: one stamp set, a notecard base, and ink. That’s it!

In addition to the three products above, I also used an Aqua Painter to add a very light watercolor wash to the background. I wanted to dress it up at least a little bit!

So that’s it for today! Simple cards need only simple posts! 🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Introducing the Beautiful Blizzard Bundle!

One of my favorite new products in the Holiday Catalog is the new Beautiful Blizzard Bundle! This bundle can be used to make gorgeous snow themed projects for Holiday and/or general winter crafts.  The bundle contains the 11 piece Beautiful Blizzard rubber stamp set , as well as the Blizzard Thinlits Die.  Both items are also available individually, however, purchasing them together as the bundle will save you 10%!

Here’s a peek at the full bundle:

I love the large, one piece die!  With just one pass through the Big Shot, you can cut multiple snowflakes in different shapes and sizes.  A number of them were cut from Whisper White card stock and added to this card.  You can see them up close in the picture below:

I love how this card combines cool blues with the bright red of Christmas!  It really is a beautiful card!  (I wish I could take credit for it, but I can’t…it’s one of the sample images from the Holiday Catalog! You can find it on page 39.)

Thankful for the Falling For Leaves Stamp Set!

My card today features a new stamp set called Falling for Leaves!  It is a photopolymer set that contains 11 stamps.  It contains 8 leaves/foliage stamps and 3 sentiments.  The set can be purchased separately or as part of the Falling for Leaves Bundle, which also includes the 8 piece Detailed Leaves Thinlits.  (Purchase them together as the bundle and save 10%!)  Here’s what the full bundle looks like:

For my card today, I used only the stamp set.  Both the leaf and the sentiment are from the set.  I heat embossed the large leaf in white on Shimmery White card stock.  When it was cool, I used an aqua painter to apply Coastal Cabana and Granny Apple Green ink.  I also finely spattered some of both colors across the card stock as well!  When the ink was dry, I stamped the sentiment in Jet Black StazOn ink, and added some Glitter Enamel Dots to finish it off!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Basic Black card stock base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Shimmery White card stock top layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

I love these colors together, especially against the black and white!  I hope you do too!  The Falling for Leaves stamp set, thinlits, and bundle will be available September 5th.  Check them out in the online store beginning then, or contact me for a catalog today!

Thanks for visiting!

It’s Hard to Say Goodbye

On Friday afternoon, my family had to say goodbye to one of our cats.  Her name was Merry, and she has been part of our family since 2009.  We got her when she was only 10 weeks old.  My kids adored her, and my six year old is having a really hard time with her passing.  🙁  She is the one on the left in the picture above.  She was a very sweet cat, and will be missed very much!

Today I am sharing a card I made last year that I made to look like my two cats.  It features the Pretty Kitty stamp set.  I colored the images with Watercolor Pencils, and embellished the card with In Color Designer Series Paper (now retired), as well as Metallic Enamel Shapes.

Although some of the products used on this card are retired, the majority of them are still available.  Also, if you are a dog lover, there is a similar stamp set called Bella & Friends that features dogs, which is equally as cute as the Pretty Kitty set!

Sorry for the super short post today, but it’s been a bit of a rough weekend.  I hope to be back to regular posts tomorrow!

Thanks for checking in!

Last Week’s Facebook Poll: Blueberry Bushel wins!

Last week on my Facebook page, I posted a poll asking for my Facebook followers to vote for their favorite NEW In Color, and the winner was BLUEBERRY BUSHEL!  This gorgeous new color is one of the five new In Colors for 2018-2020, and will be available in the NEW Annual Catalog beginning June 1st!  Here’s a peek at all five colors:

As part of the Facebook poll, I said that I would make a project featuring the winning color, and post it today.  This is what I came up with!  I used the Beautiful Day stamp set, as well as Flourishing Phrases for the “Just a Note” sentiment.  To make this card, I used Shimmery White card stock for the top layer, Basic Black for the middle layer, and Blueberry Bushel for the base.  I stamped the butterfly in Staz On Black ink, then set aside for a few minutes to dry.  Once it was dry, I used an Aqua Painter to fill in the butterfly with Blueberry Bushel ink.  I wanted there to be noticeable variation in the color, so I let the color run almost completely out before I added more ink to the brush.  I then went back in to add a little more in certain spots when I was finished, until I got the look I wanted.  (When using water on Shimmery White card stock, it’s important not to use too much, as the card stock will warp!)

Once the image was dry, I assembled the card using Snail adhesive.  I then stamped the sentiment in Blueberry Bushel ink and added some Rhinestone Basic Jewels to finish it off.  At that point, I thought I was done, but I felt it needed something else.  So I pulled out my Clear Wink of Stella glitter brush and very lightly went over the lines of the butterfly, as well as a few sections of the wings!  Take a peek at how pretty the glitter looks!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Blueberry Bushel card base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Basic Black middle layer:  3-3/4 x 5 inches

Shimmery White top layer:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8 inches

This is the first of many projects that I will be making using the new In Colors!  The colors are good for two years, and are one of my favorite In Color palettes to be released in a long time!  I really love the bold, bright hues of this group, so I plan to start using them quite a bit ASAP!  Last year, I dedicated a week of posts to the new colors, where I featured a different color each day.  I hope to be able to do something similar with the new colors this year!  Please stay tuned for those projects soon!

If you have any questions about the new colors, or anything else, please feel free to ask!

Thanks for visiting today!  Have a great day!

Lined Alphabet Love You Card

Today’s card has a watercolored background with a simple heat embossed sentiment!  The background was made using Brusho Crystal Colour, and is a combination of Red, Gamboge, and Yellow crystals.  It was colored on Shimmery White Cardstock, and once dried, was stamped with the letters for LOVE using the NEW Lined Alphabet stamp set, available June 1st!  The letters are heat embossed using Versamark ink and White Stampin’ Emboss powder.  The “you” part of the sentiment is from the Love What You Do stamp set.  I used the Thank You stamp and masked off the “thank” part with scotch tape, inked up the rest, removed the tape, and stamped it on the card.  It’s stamped in Basic Black to match the card base!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Basic Black card base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Silver Glimmer Paper middle layer:  3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

Shimmery White top layer:  3-3/4 x 5 inches

The card is finished off with a silver heart from the Metallic Enamel Shapes, one of my favorite embellishments ever!  Sadly they are retiring this year!  But you get still get them for a limited time in the online store!  They are available while supplies last, or until May 31st!

Well that’s it for this card!  It’s a pretty straightforward and simple design!  Hope you like it!

Thanks for checking in today!
