My OnStage Card Revealed!

I am having a great time in Salt Lake City at OnStage!  It’s so much fun to be here with so many other amazing demonstrators, as well as Stampin’ Up!  It’s pretty cool when you get to be in the same room as the founder of the company, as well as the CEO and her family, and all of the employees and trainers that I’ve watched so many times only in videos!  This whole place is full of such positive energy!  And I’m SO happy to finally be able to meet so many members of my team that I’ve only known through Facebook…we are having a blast!  🙂

So, I gave a little sneak peek of my card a couple of days ago, but this is the finished product!  I have always loved the combination of pink and black together.  And I adore this stamp from the You’ve Got This set.  The peony really becomes the focus of the card due to the size of the stamp!  I used the NEW Stampin’ Blends to color the flower.  I used the dark shade of Pink Pirouette to color around the edges of the whole flower, and added a little in some random spots elsewhere for some shading.  I then went in with the light Pink Pirouette marker and filled the rest of the flower in, blending the two shades wherever they came together.

The center was colored with Daffodil Delight, and the stems were colored with both shades of Old Olive, again, blending the light and dark shades together.  I like to add the darker shade first, and then blend and finish off with the lighter shade of each color, but there’s really no wrong way to do it!  The new markers are so much fun to color with and blend so beautifully, it doesn’t really matter which one you start with.  And if you add too much color, and want to lighten it up a bit, you can just go back over it with the Color Lifter until you get your desired look!

I used the Lots of Labels Framelits to frame the flower, and mounted it on a white card base, with a black polka dot background.  (There is a pink layer in between the white and black layers.)  The sentiment is from the Eastern Beauty set, and it’s finished off with some ribbon, a doily, and some metallic enamel shapes!

I hope you like the finished result!  Thanks for stopping by!

OnStage Sneak Peek

This weekend, I will be in Salt Lake City with thousands of other Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the country at Stampin’ Up’s OnStage event!  Every six months, Stampin’ Up! holds these events for demonstrators and they are SO much fun!  We get to see new products, new catalogs, make projects, win prizes, and of course, meet lots of new people!  One of the best things about going is that many demonstrators make “swaps”, where you make a bunch of cards and swap with other demonstrators for what they have created.  Unfortunately, I completely dropped the ball this time on general swaps, but I did make some for the other demonstrators that are going from my team.  There are twelve of us total.  I don’t want to show the finished card until I have had a chance to give them out, but here’s a little peek!  I used the new Stampin’ Blends to color the peony stamp from the You’ve Got This stamp set. The stamp is large, so it really ends up being the focus of your card when you use it!  I used both the light and dark shades of the Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Blends on the petals of the flower, as well as Daffodil Delight on the centers, and both shades of Old Olive on the stems and leaves.  Even though I tried to color each flower the same, each flower is unique and different from the next in terms of blending and shading!  I will post the finished card sometime in the next couple of days.  I hope you’ll check back to see the final result!

Have a great day!

Playing with my Stampin’ Blends!

Yesterday, I posted all about the NEW Stampin’ Blends alcohol based markers.  Although I purchased the whole set when they were first released to demonstrators in early October, I really haven’t had too much time to create anything with them.  I did, however, do a little coloring of some of the images in the new Color Me Happy stamp set!  I only experimented a bit with light and dark shades of individual colors, but I do have a few images to share with you:

Here’s one of the little birds from the Color Me Happy set!  I used Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends to color the bird, as well as Daffodil Delight on the legs and Pumpkin Pie on the beak.  To color this bird, I outlined the outside and some feathers with the dark shade of Cherry Cobbler, then filled in and blended with the light shade.

I also played with some of the lighter colors on flowers from the same stamp set.  In the pictures below, I used Pink Pirouette, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, and Daffodil Delight.

I am also working on another project using the new markers, but can’t show what it is just yet!  Stay tuned toward the end of the week when I can reveal the final project!

Stampin’ Blends are Now Available!

Perhaps the biggest news from Stampin’ Up! for November is the release of the NEW Stampin’ Blends markers!  These new markers have alcohol based ink, and color and blend beautifully. This initial release includes twelve of Stampin’ Up’s most popular colors.  Each color is available in a light and dark shade.  There is also an Ivory marker, Bronze marker, and Color Lifter available as well!

There are three ways to purchase this awesome new product:

  1. Each marker may be purchased individually.  If you want to build your collection slowly, or want to try out a few before making a bigger investment, then this may be the way to go!  Purchase a couple of your favorite colors and give them a try!
  2. Purchase a combo pack available for your favorite color(s), which includes both the light and dark shade of each color.  You can purchase both shades of your favorite color with only one item number!
  3. Or, if you want it ALL, you can also purchase the FULL collection, which includes all 12 colors (both light and dark shades), the Ivory and Bronze markers, and the Color Lifter!  There is a separate item number for the full collection.  No need to input 15 different numbers!

Stampin’ Up! has also released a new stamp set and project kit along with the Stampin’ Blends!  Both items are only available WHILE SUPPLIES LAST, so don’t wait too long to order!  The Color Me Happy stamp set and Color Me Happy Project Kit are now available in the Online Store!

Stampin’ Blends Available November 1st!

The official release date has been announced!  Stampin’ Blends will be available to everyone beginning November 1st!  I have had my markers for a couple of weeks now and I LOVE them!  They color so beautifully, and blend great!

Stampin’ Blends Features:

  • Add just the right amount of color where you need it with the brush tip or fine-point.
  • Each color (except Ivory and Bronze) has a light and dark shade marker, available individually or in a combo pack.
  • Press fit seal prevents air from entering the barrel and causing evaporation.
  • The nestable lids are easy to keep track of and have a tight fit for long-lasting color.

The initial release includes twelve exclusive Stampin’ Up! colors.  Each one is available in a light and dark shade, and can be purchased individually or as a combo pack.  There is also an Ivory and Bronze marker available, and a Color Lifter.

These markers are also best used with the Memento Black Ink pad, available separately in the online store.  Using the Memento pad will insure that your stamped images don’t smudge when colored with Stampin’ Blends!

I will be sharing more information as we get closer to the release date!  In the meantime, please feel free to contact me with questions!
