It’s Merry Monday! Today’s Projects Inspired by Paper Pumpkin!

Now that Thanksgiving is over, it is officially the Christmas season!  I have often mentioned that the Christmas Paper Pumpkin kits are my favorite.  This past weekend, I was going through old Paper Pumpkin samples, and I came across two cards which were both from the November 2015 kit.  I REALLY loved the cards from that kit…they are probably among my top three kits in all the time I’ve been a subscriber.  As I looked at them, I decided that I was going to try to re-create them using current projects.  So I did, and the finished cards are what I am sharing with you today!

Before I get into details about the new ones, I wanted to share what the originals looked like:

I just LOVE the color combination on these cards!  Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive are my absolute favorite Christmas color combo.  For the new versions, I had to switch the colors up a bit, but I still love the way they look together!

For my cards, I used Designer Series paper from two different packages.  The DSP I used in the first card is from the All is Bright DSP.  The paper on the other is from the Festive Farmhouse DSP.  Main colors on both cards are Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow, Crumb Cake, and Very Vanilla!

Card 1

This card features the following products:

  • All is Bright Designer Series Paper
  • In the Woods Framelits Dies
  • Feather & Frost Photopolymer Stamp Set
  • Linen Thread
  • Pearl Basic Jewels (colored with Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends)
  • White Stampin’ Emboss powder (used on the JOY sentiment)

Measurements for this card are:

Crumb Cake cardstock base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

DSP background layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

Very Vanilla background square:  1-7/8 x 1-7/8 inches

Very Vanilla Backing layer:  1-7/16 x 1-7/16 inches

Cherry Cobbler sentiment piece:  1-3/16 x 1-3/16 inches

Mossy Meadow leaves:  1-1/4 x 2-1/2 inches (approximate)

Card 2

This second card features the following products:

  • Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper
  • Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies
  • Nothing Sweeter stamp set
  • Linen Thread
  • Pearl Basic Jewels

Measurements for this card are:

Thick Very Vanilla cardstock base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Festive Farmhouse DSP background layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

Cherry Cobbler backing piece: 2-1/4 x 4-1/4 inches

Very Vanilla top layer:  2 x 4-1/8 inches

I love the originals of these cards, but I really love the new versions as well!  All this week, I will be featuring cards inspired by others I found online.  I need to make a bunch of cards for my school bazaar this coming weekend, and I need ideas I can do quickly and not have to think too much about!  I hope you’ll check back this week for something new each day!

Also, don’t forget that the second sale of Online Extravaganza is in full swing!  Today is the last day to save 10% on Annual Catalog stamp sets and kits!  Tomorrow starts a new set of products on sale, so if you have stamp sets you’ve had your heart set on, today is definitely the day to get them!

The November Paper Pumpkin Kit Has Arrived!

My November Paper Pumpkin kits arrived yesterday and they certainly did not disappoint!  I have often said that the Christmas kits are my favorites, and this one is no exception!  I knew as soon as I saw the special edition box that I would love it, and I DO!  (There is something I just love about plaids in Christmas colors!)

This kit makes 10 gorgeous cards in reds, greens, white, and cream!  It also includes 10 matching envelopes with coordinating envelopes.  The stamp set is super versatile for the holidays, and the kit even includes a Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Spot.  (My absolute favorite red for Christmas!)

Since I just got my kits, I have not assembled them yet.  I plan to do that this coming weekend!  I also plan to put together completed sets to sell at the Christmas Bazaar I am doing on December 1st.  I will also pics of the finished cards as I complete them.  In the meantime, you can take a peek at this quick video that shows the project, as well as how to complete it:

While it is too late to order this kit, there is a way you may still be able to get it!  Usually, Stampin’ Up! releases full kits and/or refills a little while after the initial kits are released.  But you must be a current Paper Pumpkin subscriber to order them.  Why not sign up for a month or two to try it?  Once you are a subscriber, you will have access to past kits so that when this one goes on sale, you can still scoop one up!  You can learn more about Paper Pumpkin and subscribe HERE.   You can also purchase a prepaid subscription in the online store!

I really, REALLY love this kit, and cannot wait until I get a chance to put it together!  (Just as an FYI, I ordered a handful of these kits as extras and will have them for sale as well at the Christmas Bazaar on December 1st.  If you are local to CT, feel free to stop by and check them out!)

It was a Paper Pumpkin kind of day!

Thursday ended up being a Paper Pumpkin day, although it definitely didn’t start out that way!  I thought it was going to be a regular old Thursday until Luca woke up with a 102 degree temperature.  He ended up staying home from school, I stayed home from work, and since he slept most of the day, I got to catch up on using my September and October kits!

The first thing I made were some whoopie pies for a bake sale this weekend.  I put them in cellophane bags and had twist ties that I could have used to keep them closed, but I wanted to dress them up a bit!  So I used the Jack O’ Lanterns and black twine from September’s Paper Pumpkin kit!  Check out what the full September kit makes.  It includes supplies for 8 of each treat bag shown below, for a total of 24 treat bags:

Isn’t it cute?  So perfect for Halloween treats!

The second kit I used was the October kit called Friends of a Feather.  Take a look at what the full kit makes:

The kit makes eight cards total, four of the larger, brown cards that I made on Thursday, and four note card sized ones, which I have not finished yet.  I really love the color combo in this kit!  Such pretty colors for Fall!

I put together my four cards as directed in the kit, but switched up a couple little things.  First, I used a Thank You sentiment from the Thankful Thoughts stamp set instead of the stamps that came in the kit.  I also pulled the metallic thread out of the baker’s twine before using it.  Here’s a close up the finished product, with its matching, lined envelope:

Here’s all four cards together:

And RIGHT NOW, select past Paper Pumpkin kits are on sale in the online store for 15% off, including the September Halloween themed kit shown above!  But here’s the catch: in order to purchase past kits, you must be a current subscriber.  So here’s what you can do to get them:

  1. Head on over to the Paper Pumpkin website and subscribe.  If you subscribe today, your first kit will be the November kit.  It’s Christmas themed, and the Christmas kits are always amazing!  (See below for a sneak peek!)
  2. Once you are an active subscriber, head on over to the online store to purchase the past kits on sale.
  3. Try out your November kit and past kits to see if you love Paper Pumpkin (which you will!)  If for some reason you don’t, you can cancel your subscription at ANY TIME.  Just log on to the Paper Pumpkin website and cancel!

Why not give it a try?  To learn more about Paper Pumpkin and subscribe, please click HERE.  To see the past kits that are available in the online store, please click HERE.

Thanks for checking in today!  Happy Friday!

June’s Paper Pumpkin Kit and Coordinating Catalog Suite

In a Paper Pumpkin first, June’s kit will coordinate perfectly with the BROADWAY BOUND suite in the new Annual Catalog!  One of the best things about Stampin’ Up! is their perfect coordination!  This is one of the things I love most, as I am super picky about making sure things match.  I can’t tell you how many times in my pre-demonstrator days I would stand in the local craft store with some paper or cardstock and try to find just the right color ink pad to go with it…only to get home and find out it really didn’t match.  So when Stampin’ Up! came along, and I realized just how many products coordinate, I was hooked!

Anyway, getting back to this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit…it will perfectly match with products from the Broadway Bound suite!  You can find this suite on pages 68-69 of the new catalog.  I love the bold, bright colors against the black!  And I am not usually a fan of gold (I definitely prefer silver most of the time), in this suite, I think the gold looks amazing with all of the other colors!  While I have no idea exactly what the Paper Pumpkin kit itself will look like until it is released, I can show you what the catalog suite looks like:

While these are not the products themselves, but projects made with them, you can still get a pretty good idea of what’s available in the suite!  If you would like to take a look at all of the products available as part of the Broadway Bound suite, please click HERE.

This is definitely going to be a bright and fun kit!  I’m excited to see it!  So how can you get yours?

There are two ways to get the June kit:

1.   Visit www.paperpumpkin.com to subscribe as a month to month customer.  The cost is $19.95 per month, and includes shipping right to your mailbox.  Selecting this option will result in new kits being shipped to you automatically each month until you say otherwise.  You also can skip a month if you need to!  Visiting the Paper Pumpkin website will also give you all the info you need about what Paper Pumpkin is and what you get when you subscribe.  There are also lots of examples of past kits for you to take a look at!  Oh, and another great perk of being a month to month subscriber is that you have the option of purchasing refill for each kit.  So if you really, really love a certain kit, you can buy extra materials to make more of it!  Why not check it out?  Click the image below to go directly to the Paper Pumpkin website!

2.  If you would rather just get THIS month’s kit, you can go to the Paper Pumpkin section of the online store and purchase a one month prepaid subscription.  You just add it to your shopping bag and complete your purchase like any other order!  Stampin’ Up! will email you a code that will need to be entered on the Paper Pumpkin site to activate the kit.  This code does not expire, but it MUST be entered no later than June 10th to be redeemed for the June kit.  Click HERE to go to the Paper Pumpkin section of the online store to check out the prepaid subscription options.

If you have been considering trying Paper Pumpkin, this is a great month to do so, as having access to additional coordinating products greatly expands what you can do with the kit!   But again, you must order or subscribe by June 10th!  If you have any questions about Paper Pumpkin or the Broadway Bound suite, please feel free to contact me!

Enjoy your day!
