Another Butterfly Beauty Project!

Last week, I posted a card I made with the NEW Butterfly Beauty Thinlits Dies. There are two large dies in the set that layer together to make five, detailed, interconnected butterflies. For my card last week, I trimmed off the four smaller butterflies and used just the one large center one. Here’s what that card looked like in case you missed it:

And here’s what the thinlits dies look like:

I used the first large die to cut out the bottom layer in Powder Pink, and then used the second large die to cut out the detail in Sparkle Glimmer Paper.

After I made last week’s card, I held on to the four smaller butterflies that were trimmed off, and used two of them on my card for today! Other products featured on this card include the All My Love Designer Series Paper, Stitched Rectangle Framelits, Dragonfly Dreams stamp set, and Gingham Gala Sequins!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Thick Whisper White card stock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

DSP strip: 2-1/4 x 5-1/2 inches

Whisper White Stitched Rectangle layer: 2-5/8 x 4 inches

Small Butterfly: 1-1/4 x 1-1/2 inches (approximate)

Larger Butterfly: 2 x 1-3/4 inches (approximate)

And after two projects, I still have two more butterflies to use from that original die cut! So please be sure to check back soon to see how I use those as well!

Thanks for visiting today! Have a great day!

Dreaming of Spring with Butterfly Beauty Thinlits

As I sit here and write this, it is 2 degrees outside. TWO degrees! It is SO cold!!! I don’t normally mind winter, but when it’s this cold, I get pretty cranky. I am very much looking forward to Spring and warmer temperatures! One thing that always reminds me of nice weather is buttterflies. I just LOVE butterflies, and any craft supply item that has them. So when I saw the NEW Butterfly Beauty Thinlits Dies, I knew I needed to add them to my collection! You can take a look at the full set below:

This set contains dies to make lots of different sized butterflies. The two largest dies actually layer together to make five connected butterflies. These two dies are actually the ones I used for today’s card. I cut the bottom piece from Powder Pink card stock, and the top layer from Sparkle Glimmer Paper. I then adhered them together with Multipurpose Glue, and then trimmed off the four smaller butterflies so I was left with just one, large one. (I did save the other four, and plan to make other projects with them, which you will probably see very soon!)

The colors I chose for this card are Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Powder Pink, and Whisper White.

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Berry Burst card stock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Lemon Lime Twist middle layer: 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

2017-2019 In Color DSP top layer: 3-3/4 x 5 inches

Sparkle Glimmer Paper/Powder Pink Butterfly piece: 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inches*

Whisper White sentiment piece: 2-1/4 x 1-3/8 inches

*When trimmed, the single large butterfly is about 2-3/4 x 3-3/4 inches

You can find the thinlits and stamp set, as well as the cute flower sequins in the new Occasions Catalog. Everything else is in the Annual one. A complete supply list can be found below!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope wherever you are, it’s warmer than here! 🙂

OnStage Day 1 Highlights and Products (plus check out the NEW Catalog!)

The first day of OnStage is over.  It was a long, but FUN day!  For my post today, I will share some of the pictures from the event, as well as the goodies we’ve received so far!  (Including sneak peeks of the covers of the NEW 2019 Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-Bration brochure!)

The picture above and the one below are pictures of the main stage.  There are literally over 6000 demonstrators here!   It’s quite the show, with flashing lights, loud music, and lots of cheering and dancing!

Wednesday, we checked into the convention center and registered.  At registration, we received this beautiful box:

Inside the box were the following items:

Today, we also received the NEW Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-Bration brochure.  There are some AMAZING new products in here that I KNOW you are going to love!!!  While I can’t show you the inside of the catalog, I can at least show the covers:

We also received this gorgeous zippered tool case:

And I won this new stamp set called “Part of My Story”:

And here’s one of the projects we created using one of the NEW product suites from the Occasions Catalog:

I also just remembered that I got a super comfy hooded sweatshirt that I forgot to take pictures of!  I will try to remember to add it tomorrow’s post!  All of this so far, and this was just the first day.  We have two more days to go!  I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!  🙂

FYI:  IF you have EVER considered joining Stampin’ Up!, you are going to want to do it during Sale-a-Bration!  There is going to be a fantastic sign up special that you are GOING to want to take advantage of!  More details on THAT as we get closer!  And if you join, you too could attend OnStage events!  Just something to think about!

Thanks for visiting today!  Please check back tomorrow for Day 2’s highlights!

First Day of Spring and ANOTHER Snow Storm?!

Today is the FIRST day of Spring in the US!  I am so excited and SO ready to put this horrible Winter behind us!  Between sick kids, numerous snow storms, and being sick myself, I seriously cannot wait for sunny days and warmer temperatures!   But not so fast, because we are on track to get hit by ANOTHER snow storm TOMORROW.  It will be the 4th big one to hit us in Connecticut in less than a month!  I am hoping for a last minute change of course, but if the storm stays on the track it’s on now, we’re looking at another foot or more of snow!  YUCK!  I guess Mother Nature isn’t done with Winter yet!

I chose today’s card for it’s bright and sunny message, as I thought it was appropriate for the first day of Spring!  (It was made by the Stampin’ Up! concept artists, so I can’t take credit for it!)  This beautiful card features the Rainbow Builder Framelits and the A Good Day stamp set.  Both items can be found in the Occasions Catalog, as well as in the online store.

I am not 100% sure on the colors used, but I am going to guess that they are Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Pool Party, and Rich Razzleberry.  All of the color on this card is applied with aquapainters, so it is heavily diluted to get those gorgeous pastel tones!  In addition to the rainbow colors, it looks like some Smoky Slate was applied to the clouds to give them a little color and shading as well!

Please keep your fingers crossed that we don’t get much from this storm tomorrow!   We have lost our cable and internet a few times with all the bad weather, so if you don’t hear from me for a couple of days, it’s a good bet that it’s out again!

Thanks for checking in today!

A Waterfront Tropical Island Friendship Card

As I write this post, we are getting hit with 8-15 inches of snow!  This may be a short post, as my lights have flickered a couple of times, so I need to try to get this up quick in case we lose power!  Ugh!

This card was made using the Waterfront stamp set!  I made a tropical island scene and paired it with a sentiment about friendship.  I decided to keep it simple on purpose, as I loved the scene and colors, so decided to forgo any additional embellishments!  I borrowed the color scheme from fellow demonstrator Patty Bennett.  I saw some cards she made on her Pinterest page, and loved the “beachy” colors she chose!  The full color scheme is as follows:

Measurements for this card are as follows:
Sahara Sand card base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)
Pool Party middle layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches
Whisper White top layer:  3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

The Waterfront stamp set is super versatile, and has LOTS of great images and sentiments!  This gorgeous set is photopolymer and contains 16 stamps.  The set includes different trees, mountains, water, and more!  Check out the full set below:
I’m going to wrap it up there for today!  Fingers crossed the power doesn’t go out!
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!  Thank you!

Kind Thoughts for You with the You’re Inspiring Stamp Set

Tulips are hands down my favorite Spring flowers, but daffodils are a close second!  So when I saw the You’re Inspiring stamp set in the Occasions Catalog, I immediately put it on my wish list!  This set is perfect for multiple Spring occasions, and includes sentiments for birthdays, Easter, Mother’s Day, and more!  It includes 8 rubber stamps and comes in both Wood Mount or Clear Mount.  Here’s what the full set looks like:

The flowers on the card are colored with Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.  I used both the light and dark shades of both.  I stamped the flowers in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored them once the ink was completely dry.  I then framed the flowers with one of the Lots of Labels Framelits and cut them out using the Big Shot.  I also used my Stamparatus to stamp the “Kind thoughts for you” sentiment multiple times in the background!

The measurements for this card are as follows:

Night of Navy card base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored and folded in half)

Night of Navy top layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

Whisper White:  4 x 5-1/4 inches (used both for daffodil piece and punched piece with sentiment)

Other items used on this card include the Classic Label Punch, Linen Thread, and Pearl Basic Jewels!

Check out the supply list below for everything you need to make this card!
