A Buffalo Check Christmas Greeting

Last year, there was a Designer Series Paper in the Holiday Catalog called Merry Little Christmas DSP. Two of the patterns featured Buffalo Check print, one in white and black and the other in green and black!  It was one of my favorite products in the catalog!  So this year, when I saw the new Buffalo Check background stamp, I was super excited!

For my card today, I went with classic red and black. This combination reminds me of a super comfy flannel shirt I had in college.  I LOVED it!  (I wish I still had it!)  I used the Buffalo Check stamp in combination with three other sets to create this card: Country Home, Many Blessings, and Star of Light.  Here’s a look at all three:

Country Home Stamp Set

Many Blessings Stamp Set

Star of Light Stamp Set

All three of these sets are photopolymer sets, which allow for perfect placement every time!

To create the main image, I knew I wanted to use the bucket from Country Home, but I wanted to use a Christmas themed arrangement for the top.  I found one in the Many Blessings set.  I stamped both images in black ink, colored them, and trimmed both with Paper Snips and then put them together on the final card.  For the can/bucket, I stamped Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends.  For the top arrangement, I stamped in StazOn Black and colored with Regals Stampin’ Write Markers.  The colors I used were Real Red, Garden Green, Old Olive, and Crushed Curry.

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Crumb Cake card stock base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Basic Black middle layer:  3-15/16 x 5-3/16 inches

Whisper White top layer:  3-3/4 x 5 inches

Cherry Cobbler plaid strip:  2-1/8 x 5 inches

Whisper White stitched oval:  2-3/8 x 3-1/4 inches

Whisper White sentiment strip:  5/8 x 3-3/4 inches

The card was finished with a few rhinestones and a Linen Thread bow.  I love the end result!

If you have any questions about my card today, please ask!  Thank you for visiting!

There’s Nothing Sweeter than Merry Monday!

It’s time for another Merry Monday project!  My project today is a set of three 3 x 3 inch mini note cards made with the Nothing Sweeter Bundle.  This new bundle includes the 17 piece Nothing Sweeter photoplymer stamp set, as well as the 10 piece Sweetly Stitched Framelits!  Colors are Cherry Cobbler, Shaded Spruce, Crushed Curry, and Whisper White!

Check out the complete bundle below:

The bundle can be found on page 25 of the Holiday Catalog, or click HERE to see it in the online store!  Both the stamp set and framelits can also be purchased alone, though purchasing the bundle will save you 10% off the cost of them separately!

Measurements for these cards are as follows:

Cherry Cobbler or Shaded Spruce card base:  3 x 6 inches (scored at 3 inches and folded in half)

Cherry Cobbler or Shaded Spruce middle layer:  2-3/4 x 2-3/4 inches

Whisper White top layer: 2-5/8 x 2-5/8 inches

Tree, Present, and Heart:  range from 1-1/2 to 1-3/4 in length and width (approximate)

All of the sentiments for the cards are from the new Candy Cane Season stamp set, and the white portions of each image were stamped in White Craft ink and then heat embossed using White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

Embellishments for this card include Whisper White 1/8 inch Sheer Ribbon, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, and Santa’s Workshop Enamel Shapes.  All were custom colored using either Stampin’ Blends or Ink Refills with Shimmer Paint.  I LOVE having the tools and products to create embellishments and accents in any color I need!

For the ribbon, I colored the white ribbon with Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends.  For the “star” on top of the Christmas Tree, I mixed Frost White Shimmer Paint with a small drop of Crushed Curry reinker.  It produced a really pretty yellow/gold color!  I then painted it onto the embellishment with a thin paintbrush:

I really love making mini note cards!  They can be used for so many different things…send a little note to someone special, tuck into a lunch box or co-worker’s mailbox, or punch a hole in the corner, add some ribbon, and use as a gift tag!  They are perfect for the holidays!

Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy your day!

It’s Merry Monday with Winter Woods!

Last week, I posted a poll on my Facebook page about which stamp set my followers would like to see me use, and Winter Woods got the most votes!  I figured I would use it for today’s project, since today is also Merry Monday!  This card is based on one I made four years ago using the Lovely as a Tree stamp set.  It is one of my favorite cards that I’ve made, and when I saw the Winter Woods set in this year’s catalog, I knew right away that I wanted to try to recreate it.  I finally got the chance this past weekend!

The Winter Woods stamp set includes 7 rubber stamps, and comes in your choice of wood mount or clear mount.  It can be found on page 27 of the Holiday Catalog, or, you can click the image below to go to it online:

Here is what my original card looked like:

For the old card, I used a number of products that have since retired, including Brushed Silver card stock, Smooch Spritz, and the Watercolor Winter Too stamp set.  However, we have current products that I knew I could recreate it pretty closely with.  And luckily, the main color, Night of Navy, is still current!

For the new card, I used Night of Navy, Whisper White, and Shimmery White card stock.  I also used the new Galvanized Metallic Paper in place of the Brushed Silver card stock used on the original.  The technique I used to create the background is exactly the same on both cards.  I punched a 1-3/4 inch circle and applied it to the background piece with removable adhesive (available at local craft stores).  The circle was used as a “mask” while I applied ink to the background.  I sponged Night of Navy ink using light, circular motions, while leaving the middle of the card unsponged to create the look of moonlight.  Once the sponging was done, I peeled off the circle, and was left with a perfect full moon!

To create the rest of the background, I first used the stamp with multiple trees and inked it up with Night of Navy ink.  I stamped it off twice before stamping onto my background, as I wanted those trees to be very light.  I then stamped the large evergreen tree full strength onto the card.  I stamped the sentiment onto a small piece of Shimmery White card stock and punched it out with the Everyday Label Punch. I then wrapped Silver Baker’s Twine around the top layers twice, adhered the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and embellished with a few of the white enamel circles from the Santa’s Workshop Enamel Shapes!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Night of Navy card stock base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 and folded in half)

Galvanized Metallic Paper layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

Whisper White layer:  3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

Shimmery White top layer:  3-3/4 x 5 inches

Shimmery White sentiment piece:  1-1/2 x 2-3/8 inches

Scrap circle “mask” (used to make the moon):  1-3/4 inches in diameter

I am so happy with the way this card came out!  I love the updated version as much as the original!  The Winter Woods stamp set is such a gorgeous, versatile set, and can be purchased alone, or as part of the Winter Woods bundle.  The bundle also includes the coordinating In the Woods Framelits dies.  (Even though I did not use the dies on this card, I will include them in the links below.  Be sure to check them out!)

I hope you like my project today!  Thanks for stopping by!

Have a Happy Halloween with the Toil & Trouble Suite

This weekend, I made my first Halloween project of this year!  I used items from the NEW Toil & Trouble Suite, available in the upcoming Holiday Catalog.  I really love this new suite, especially the colors!  While I love traditional black and orange for Halloween, I REALLY love when green and purple are thrown in too.  And that is EXACTLY what you get in this suite!  Check out the main colors in the suite below:

Pretty much everything I used on this card is from the new suite.  The main image is fussy cut from the NEW Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper.  The polka dot background and striped strip is also from the same paper!  I also used the new Black 3/8″ Glittered Organdy Ribbon, and a sentiment from the new Spooky Sweets stamp set!

Other products used on this card include the Layering Oval Framelits and Rhinestone Basic Jewels!

Measurements for this card are as follows:
Basic Black card stock card base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)
Gorgeous Grape card stock middle layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches
DSP polka dot background layer:  3-3/4 x 5 inches
DSP striped strip:  7/8 x 4 inches
Whisper White Oval:  2-5/8 x 3-1/2 inches

The entire Toil & Trouble Suite will be available beginning September 5th!  Be sure to visit the online store to see the entire suite!  If you love Halloween, you will love the products this suite has to offer!

Merry Monday: Introducing the Santa’s Workshop Suite

It’s Merry Monday!  For today’s card, I used products from the NEW Santa’s Workshop Suite.  If you like fun, whimsical images and bright colors for the holidays, then you will LOVE this suite!  The whole suite can be found on pages 18-21 of the Holiday Catalog.  Images in this suite contain Santa, Mrs. Claus, jolly elves, candy, bows, trees, snowmen, and more!  It also combines a fabulous array of colors including Basic Black, Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry, Early Espresso, Garden Green, Poppy Parade, Smoky Slate, and Whisper White.  Check out how gorgeous these colors look together:

This card features the new Santa’s Workshop Specialty Designer Series Paper!  It has fun, hand drawn designs, and some of them have white flocking on them, so that when you run your hand over it, it has a soft, velvety feel!

On this card, the hats of the elves and the white parts of the presents have the flocking.  It definitely adds a fun, festive touch to this card!  You can see the full assortment of designs in the Santa’s Workshop paper below:

This paper truly has a little bit of everything for Christmas!

Measurements for this card are as follows:
Poppy Parade card stock base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)
Candy Cane DSP background layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches
Elves DSP strip:  2 x 5-1/4 inches
North Pole Seal:  1-3/8 inches in diameter

The sentiment for this card comes from the Signs of Santa stamp set, which is part of the suite as well!  This set is a photopolymer set that contains 18 stamps.  (There is also a coordinating cutting die set that is available as well!)  The sentiment is stamped in black StazOn ink, and was cut using the 1-3/8 inch Scallop Circle Punch.  The card is finished with a couple of wraps of Garden Green Baker’s Twine, as well as a bow!

This card was so much fun to make!  I love the mischievous looks of the elves!  All of the products used to make this card will be available in only TWO DAYS, when the Holiday Catalog goes live for ordering.  I hope you’re as excited for the holiday crafting season as I am!

Thanks for stopping by!

Thankful for the Falling For Leaves Stamp Set!

My card today features a new stamp set called Falling for Leaves!  It is a photopolymer set that contains 11 stamps.  It contains 8 leaves/foliage stamps and 3 sentiments.  The set can be purchased separately or as part of the Falling for Leaves Bundle, which also includes the 8 piece Detailed Leaves Thinlits.  (Purchase them together as the bundle and save 10%!)  Here’s what the full bundle looks like:

For my card today, I used only the stamp set.  Both the leaf and the sentiment are from the set.  I heat embossed the large leaf in white on Shimmery White card stock.  When it was cool, I used an aqua painter to apply Coastal Cabana and Granny Apple Green ink.  I also finely spattered some of both colors across the card stock as well!  When the ink was dry, I stamped the sentiment in Jet Black StazOn ink, and added some Glitter Enamel Dots to finish it off!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Basic Black card stock base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Shimmery White card stock top layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

I love these colors together, especially against the black and white!  I hope you do too!  The Falling for Leaves stamp set, thinlits, and bundle will be available September 5th.  Check them out in the online store beginning then, or contact me for a catalog today!

Thanks for visiting!

It’s a Merry Monday with the Seasonal Wreath Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder

Today’s card features the Seasonal Wreath Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder!  This folder is actually available in the Annual Catalog, and as been available since June 1st.  This is the first time I’ve had a chance to use it though! Here’s a peek at the folder:

When using this folder, the wreath really ends up being the centerpiece of your card!  The wreath itself measures approximately 3-5/8 in diameter, so it takes up a large amount of space on the card.  It is so elegant though, and makes really beautiful cards, even completely by itself!  For my card today, I dressed up the wreath a bit by applying the NEW Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint with a sponge dauber.  After it dried, I went over some of the smaller leaves in the wreath with my Dark Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends Marker to add a bit of color as well!

I also used my Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends marker to color some Whisper White 1/8″ Sheer Ribbon, as well as rhinestones.  I LOVE using my Stampin’ Blends to make matching embellishments for projects!  They work great on ribbon, rhinestones, pearls, and more!

The sentiment I used is from the new Merry Christmas to all stamp set.  This set is so versatile for the holidays!  It includes 28 photopolymer stamps that can be mixed and matched to make many, many different greetings!  The Merry and Christmas are actually two different stamps that I placed next to each other on a clear block to make one sentiment.  There are also some script sentiments as well!  Take a look at the full set below:

This set will be available on September 5th when the Holiday Catalog goes live.  It can be purchased alone or as part of the Merry Christmas to All Bundle.  You can find these items on page 5 of the new catalog!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Tranquil Tide card stock base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Gold Foil Sheet middle layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

Whisper White card stock top layer:  3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

I hope you like my card today!  Please let me know if you have any questions!  If you need a copy of the new Holiday Catalog, please let me know, and I will get one out to you right away!
