It’s Merry Monday! Today’s Projects Inspired by Paper Pumpkin!

Now that Thanksgiving is over, it is officially the Christmas season!  I have often mentioned that the Christmas Paper Pumpkin kits are my favorite.  This past weekend, I was going through old Paper Pumpkin samples, and I came across two cards which were both from the November 2015 kit.  I REALLY loved the cards from that kit…they are probably among my top three kits in all the time I’ve been a subscriber.  As I looked at them, I decided that I was going to try to re-create them using current projects.  So I did, and the finished cards are what I am sharing with you today!

Before I get into details about the new ones, I wanted to share what the originals looked like:

I just LOVE the color combination on these cards!  Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive are my absolute favorite Christmas color combo.  For the new versions, I had to switch the colors up a bit, but I still love the way they look together!

For my cards, I used Designer Series paper from two different packages.  The DSP I used in the first card is from the All is Bright DSP.  The paper on the other is from the Festive Farmhouse DSP.  Main colors on both cards are Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow, Crumb Cake, and Very Vanilla!

Card 1

This card features the following products:

  • All is Bright Designer Series Paper
  • In the Woods Framelits Dies
  • Feather & Frost Photopolymer Stamp Set
  • Linen Thread
  • Pearl Basic Jewels (colored with Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends)
  • White Stampin’ Emboss powder (used on the JOY sentiment)

Measurements for this card are:

Crumb Cake cardstock base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

DSP background layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

Very Vanilla background square:  1-7/8 x 1-7/8 inches

Very Vanilla Backing layer:  1-7/16 x 1-7/16 inches

Cherry Cobbler sentiment piece:  1-3/16 x 1-3/16 inches

Mossy Meadow leaves:  1-1/4 x 2-1/2 inches (approximate)

Card 2

This second card features the following products:

  • Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper
  • Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies
  • Nothing Sweeter stamp set
  • Linen Thread
  • Pearl Basic Jewels

Measurements for this card are:

Thick Very Vanilla cardstock base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Festive Farmhouse DSP background layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

Cherry Cobbler backing piece: 2-1/4 x 4-1/4 inches

Very Vanilla top layer:  2 x 4-1/8 inches

I love the originals of these cards, but I really love the new versions as well!  All this week, I will be featuring cards inspired by others I found online.  I need to make a bunch of cards for my school bazaar this coming weekend, and I need ideas I can do quickly and not have to think too much about!  I hope you’ll check back this week for something new each day!

Also, don’t forget that the second sale of Online Extravaganza is in full swing!  Today is the last day to save 10% on Annual Catalog stamp sets and kits!  Tomorrow starts a new set of products on sale, so if you have stamp sets you’ve had your heart set on, today is definitely the day to get them!

Please contact me with questions!  Thanks for visiting!

Holiday Catalog Inventory Update

So I have some good news, and I have some not so good news…the good news is that this year’s Holiday Catalog has been wildly popular! The bad news is that certain items have been SO wildly popular that they are in danger of selling out before the end of the Holiday Catalog ordering period.
Most of these items are not carrying over into a later catalog, so at this point, once they are gone, they are gone for good.   While these items are still available as of the writing of this post, that could change at any time.  If you have your heart set on any of the products shown below, please order ASAP to avoid disappointment!

In addition to the above items being close to selling out, there are a handful of items that have already officially SOLD OUT. These products are no longer available, and unfortunately, Stampin’ Up! will NOT be getting more in before the end of the Holiday Catalog ordering period. They are:

While it is disappointing that these products are no longer available, there are many others that still ARE, and would be wonderful for you to use in your Holiday crafting!  If there is anything I can help you with, please let me know!

Thank you for visiting today!

It’s a Merry Monday with the Detailed Deer Thinlits and Stylish Christmas Stamp Set

My card today features a simple design created with the Detailed Deer Thinlits, Stylish Christmas stamp set, and Wood Textures Designer Series Paper!

This card was quick and easy to create!  I cut the Thick Whisper White card stock base, then the middle layer from Cherry Cobbler card stock, and the top layer from regular Whisper White (measurements for each can be found below).  I then ran the top layer through the Big Shot with the large flying deer die.  After the deer was cut out, I adhered a piece of the Wood Textures DSP to the back of the top layer with SNAIL adhesive, so that it showed through the top.  I then stamped the sentiment in Old Olive ink, and adhered the top layer to the middle Cherry Cobbler layer with SNAIL.  I then adhered those to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added the Old Olive Sheer Ribbon bow and a couple of stars from the Twinkle Adhesive Backed Sequins and the card was complete!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Thick Whisper White card stock base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Cherry Cobbler middle layer:  3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

Whisper White top layer:  3-3/4 x 5 inches

Wood Textures DSP layer:  3 x 3-3/4 inches

Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, and Whisper White has always been my go to red, green, and white color combo for Christmas.  I really love the way they look together.  I also love the simple design of this card, and I hope you do too!  Sometimes less is more!

Thanks for stopping by!

Love What You Do with Falling For Leaves

I received this gorgeous card in yesterday’s mail!  It is from my upline, Sarah Wills.  I instantly loved this card when I pulled it from the envelope.  The colors and design are so perfect for Fall!

This card features the new Detailed Leaves Thinlits, which are available on their own, or as part of the Falling For Leaves Photopolymer Bundle.  These dies allow you to create gorgeous, layered leaves and greenery with your Big Shot!  For this card, Sarah combined Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Calypso Coral, and Granny Apple Green.  She also added some different textures using different embossing folders.  The background is embossed with the Pinewood Planks embossing folder, and the solid Crushed Curry leaf is embossed with the Subtle embossing folder.  The embossing adds some beautiful extra detail to this card!  You can see the embossing up close in the picture below:

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Cajun Craze card base:  4-1/4 x 11 inches (scored at 5-1/2 inches and folded in half)

Crumb Cake layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

Very Vanilla middle layer:  3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

Very Vanilla top layer:  3-3/4 x 5 inches

Crushed Curry background leaf:  2-3/4 x 3-1/8 inches

Calypso Coral top leaf:  2-1/2 x 3 inches

Granny Apple Green leaves:  2-1/2 x 3 inches (approximate)

Very Vanilla sentiment piece: 1 x 2 inches

I just LOVE getting mail from Sarah because it’s always something fun and beautiful!  It really brightens my day!  If you would like the complete product list for this card, please check out the links below!

Holiday Catalog Team Swaps

Each time a new catalog comes out, our team does a swap, where we all make cards with new products and share with each other.  The team that I am part of is led by demonstrator Stella MacKay, and is called the Stampers for Others Team!  This year is the first year since becoming a demonstrator that I was not able to participate in the swap.  Between starting a new job, my son changing schools, and trying to finish getting our house built, I just didn’t have the time!  However, the cards made by my teammates are absolutely stunning!  I wanted to share them with you, in the hopes that they could provide some inspiration for your holiday crafting!  I will list the demonstrator’s name under each project so that if you have specific questions, you can look them up and ask.  (Or, feel free to contact me with your questions, and I can get the answers for you!)

A Spooky Treat Made with the Toil and Trouble Suite

My project today uses multiple products from the Toil & Trouble Suite!  This Halloween themed suite contains lots of great products, including stamps, Designer Series Paper, embellishments, and more!  I also used a couple of other Halloween products that are not technically part of the suite, but still work great with it!

Last year, I found that TEN Hershey’s Miniature chocolate bars fit perfectly in our Clear Tiny Treat Boxes!  I had found some specially wrapped Halloween ones last year that were super cute, and although I looked at a number of stores this year, I haven’t been able to find them!  So my options were: either cover each piece with DSP, or wrap the box somehow to make it look nice!  I opted for choice 2.  So I took a piece of the Cauldron Bubble DSP and cut a 1-7/8 inch x 8 inch piece, then scored it every 1-15/16 of an inch.  I then folded it and made a square, added some adhesive to the remaining 1/4 inch or so, adhered it together so it would stay put, and slipped it into the inside of the box before filling it with the candy.  The assembled box measures 2 x 2 x 2 inches, so you definitely want to make your cuts and score lines just slightly smaller so that the paper fits in without being too snug!

Once the candy was in, I closed the box, wrapped it with Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon, added the tag and some Silver Mini Sequin Trim, then tied the ribbon in a bow.  My tag was made using the Labels to Love stamp set, Spooky Sweets Bundle, the Twinkle Builder Punch, and Twinkle Adhesive Backed Sequins.  Colors are Pumpkin Pie, Basic Gray, Crushed Curry, and Gorgeous Grape!

Measurements for this project are as follows:

Toil & Trouble DSP strip:  1-7/8 x 8 inches (scored every 1-15/16 inch)

Whisper White piece: 4-1/4 inches x 5-1/2 inches  (From this one piece, I was able to stamp everything I used on my tag.  That includes the tag itself, the bat, and the moon!)

Glittered Organdy Ribbon: about 24 inches (approximately)

Here’s a peek at how the candy is arranged inside the box (looking through the bottom of the box!)  I stood them on their ends to make sure they’re in there nice and neat!

I am really happy with how this little treat box came out!  The Tiny Treat Boxes are so versatile, and are the perfect size for many small gifts, including favors for showers, weddings, and other parties!  Just switch up the DSP and what you fill it with, and you’re good to go for almost any occasion!  🙂

Thanks so much for visiting today!  If you have any questions, please let me know!

It’s a Merry Monday with In the Woods Framelits!

It’s time for another Merry Monday project!  My card today features the In the Woods Framelits, the Feather & Frost stamp set, Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, and Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper!

To make this card, I cut my layers, then used the large tree framelit to cut out the tree from the top layer.  I then adhered the green glimmer paper to the BACK of the top layer, so that the paper peeks through from underneath.  You can see the full set of framelits below:

(The framelits can be purchased separately, or as part of the Winter Woods Bundle, which also includes the Winter Woods stamp set!)  After cutting the tree from the top layer, I then stamped the sentiment in Merry Merlot ink, and ran the piece through the Big Shot using the Softly Falling embossing folder.  I also cut a star from Gold Glimmer Paper using the Twinkle Builder punch.  Once the card was assembled, I cut another tree using the smaller evergreen tree die.  What’s cool about this die is that it also cuts out small curved pieces throughout the finished piece, so that when layered with the larger tree, gives depth and texture to the tree!  Take a look at the pics below to see close ups of what the second tree layer adds to the finished tree:

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Thick Whisper White cardstock base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Merry Merlot card stock middle layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

Whisper White top layer:  3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

Green Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper:  3 x 3-1/2 inches

Gold Glimmer Paper star: 1/2 x 1/2 inch (approximate)

This card was fun to make, and I love the end result!  I decided not to embellish it further, as I felt that the glimmer paper and background embossing were enough.  But a few rhinestones or sequins would probably add a nice touch if you wanted to dress it up a bit more!

Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy your day!
