3D Thursday: Warm & Toasty Treat Box

Welcome to another 3D Thursday project post! This week, we have Guest Designer Janet Goshorn joining us. Janet has created a little Warm & Toasty Treat Box, using items from the Snowflake Splendor suite. Take a look at what she has created for us:

How cute is that polar bear? Janet placed two hot chocolate packets and two peppermint spoons inside. This is such a perfect little gift to let someone special know you’re thinking about them this holiday season! It would also make a great craft fair item!

If you would like to make your own Warm & Toasty Treat Box, you can download Janet’s FREE project sheet HERE (or click on the image below!) In it, she includes step by step instructions, as well as all of the supplies and measurements you need to make these yourself!

I hope you have enjoyed this week’s project! Thank you for visiting today, and enjoy the rest of your day!

3D Thursday: 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper Gift Bag

Happy Thursday! Today we have Designer Twila Davis sharing her adorable 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper Gift Bag! Making your own gift bags is a great way to perfectly coordinate your gift giving this year. Use the same paper for your cards, tags, and bags!

For her project, Twila used the ‘Tis the Season 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper. The finished bag measures 4 x 3 x 1-1/2 inches wide, so the bag is small, but is perfect for giving small treats, gifts, or ornaments to friends and family. You can change the theme of the bag to fit any occasion, just by switching up the paper!

If you would like instructions to make your own bags, you can download Twila’s FREE project sheet HERE or by clicking on the image below! In it, she gives detailed, step by step instructions with measurements, as well as a complete supply list:

Please check back next week for another fun 3D Thursday project! Thanks for stopping by!

3D Thursday: Shaker Top Round Gift Tin

It’s my turn to create for 3D Thursday! For my project, I have created a shaker top gift container using one of the Round Tins from the Stampin’ Up! 2020 August-December Mini Catalog. I got the idea for this project from another demonstrator called The Caravan Crafter. She created some gorgeous shaker tins with the Snowflake Splendor Suite, so her projects are really what inspired my project for today! My version can be seen below:

Mine was created for a friend who has a fall birthday, so I went with that as my theme. I used the Life is Beautiful stamp set for the tree and leaves, as well as a sentiment from the Little Treats stamp set. The Life is Beautiful set can be seen below, and is one of my favorite sets from the new catalog!

I stamped the tree onto Very Vanilla cardstock in Soft Suede ink, and then used Stampin’ Write markers to color the leaves on the stamp before adding them to the tree. I purposely blended some of the colors together so that the leaves were many different colors. The colors I used for the leaves were Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, Bumblebee, and Old Olive. I then stamped the sentiment and cut around the image with the Layering Circles Dies to make a circle approximately 3-1/4 inches in diameter.

Next, I took the lid of the tin and wiped down the inside with a dryer sheet to reduce static on the plastic. I used Foam Adhesive strips all around the edge of the window as shown below:

I cut a 3-1/2 inch diameter circle from the Guilded Autumn Specialty DSP and layered my stamped circle onto it using Stampin’ Seal Plus Adhesive. I added sequins to the inside of the lid, and placed my layered circles face down and pressed all around the edge of the foam strips to adhere the DSP to the strips. Doing this created a seal all around the edge so that the sequins would stay inside the window.

I then cut another 3-1/2 inch circle in coordinating cardstock (I used Early Espresso) for the bottom and embellished with one leaf in the middle. I also added some ribbon around the outside of the tin, as well as a small metallic bow to the top to finish it. The tin can be filled with any gift you wish, but I used mine for a necklace I made with the Acorn Trinkets (but that’s a different project for a different day! 😉 )!

If you would like full instructions on how to create your own shaker top gift tin, click HERE or click on the image below to download and print my FREE project sheet! it includes step by step instructions, as well as a complete product list.

I hope you have enjoyed my project today! Please feel free to contact me with questions!

Color Fusers Blog Hop for October 2020

Happy Fall, Everyone! I can’t believe it’s already October! Only two months left in this crazy year, and then hopefully 2021 will be the year that things start to get back to normal (fingers crossed!) It’s time for our October Color Fusers Blog Hop, and this month, we have a unique combination of Cinnamon Cider, Crumb Cake, and Cherry Cobbler to share:

My project this month features the Birds & Branches Bundle, which can be found in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. Though it is mostly an everyday occasion set, I decided to make a Christmas card with it. I wasn’t quite sure how these colors would work for a Christmas card, but I really like the end result! Here’s a peek at the full bundle:

The bundle includes the Birds & Branches stamp set, as well as the coordinating Birds & More Dies. I also used a decorative stamp from the Joyful Holly stamp set in the corners of the card, as well as a sentiment from the Sweetest Time set. The holly was stamped in Cinnamon Cider and the berries were colored with Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends. The sentiment was stamped in Cherry Cobbler. The middle layer was cut using the Rectangle Stitched Dies, and the top layer was torn along the edges to give it a bit of a rustic look. The birds in this set are two step stamps. There is an outline stamp for each, and then a solid image that you can stamp over (or under) to produce a multilayer/multicolor effect. I stamped the outline of the bird in Cherry Cobbler, then stamped the solid bird image in Crumb Cake over it, and cut with the coordinating die. I then sponged some Wink of Stella onto the bird to give it a little shimmer before mounting it on the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Thick Very Vanilla cardstock card base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Crumb Cake cardstock middle layer: 3-3/8 x 4-3/4 inches

Very Vanilla top layer: 3 x 4-1/4 inches (approximate)

Cinnamon Cider piece for branch: 2 x 4-1/2 inches (approximate)

Small piece of Cherry Cobbler for the flowers

Because this is a Christmas card, I wanted to add a little bling to dress it up. So in addition to the bird, I also sponged some Wink of Stella onto the branch. I cut small flowers from Cherry Cobbler cardstock using the Confetti Flowers Border Punch, and added those to the branch, then added some rhinestones to the flowers’ centers. The card was finished with a small Linen Thread bow. While these colors are definitely not your traditional Christmas colors, I think they still work!

I hope you have enjoyed our hop so far! Please continue on to Bonnie O’Neill’s page to see what she has created this month! Thanks so much for joining us today!

Color Fusers Blog Hop for September 2020

Happy September! I can’t believe it’s almost officially Fall! Since it’s the first Monday of the month, it’s time for our monthly Color Fusers Blog Hop. Today, we have a pretty combo of Balmy Blue, Night of Navy, and Melon Mambo!

For my project today, I used the new Dove of Hope Bundle from the 2020 August-December Mini Catalog. Most of the time, I like to stick to traditional holiday colors when creating Christmas crafts. Every once in awhile though, I like to mix it up. I LOVE doves at Christmas time. I think they are so peaceful and beautiful! So when I saw the colors we were using this month, I knew I wanted to do something with this bundle, though I wasn’t sure exactly what. I just started playing with the colors and dies, and this is what I came up with!

To make this card, I used a small artists palette from the dollar store and added one drop of ink from Balmy Blue, Night of Navy and Melon Mambo ink refills into different wells. I then added a small amount of water to each well and mixed thoroughly. I used my Water Painters to randomly swirl the colors on a sheet of watercolor paper. I then set the paper aside to dry. While that was drying, I used some of the other dies from the Detailed Dove die set to cut the solid wing and tail pieces from Shimmery White Cardstock. I also cut the “Peace” sentiment from Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper using the new Joy Dies. Once the watercolor paper was dry, I cut the wing overlay pieces, as well as the dove’s body from the watercolored sheet. I adhered the colored overlay pieces to the solid underlay with Multipurpose Glue. I adhered the finished wings to the dove with Mini Glue Dots, and then went over the entire thing with Wink of Stella glitter. It’s hard to tell from the pictures, but you can see the shine just a bit in the picture below:

While the bird was drying, I cut the middle layer from Balmy Blue cardstock, and the top layer from Night of Navy. To create some variation in color, I used a Stampin’ Sponge to sponge VersaMark ink all over the Night of Navy piece in a circular pattern. While the ink was still not completely dry, I brushed Wink of Stella glitter onto the same sponge and sponged it over the Versamark in a circular motion to add just a hint of shimmer to the background. I also added some snowflakes from the Dove of Hope set in VersaMark as well. When the background piece was finished and dry, I assembled the card and adhered the dove with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I then applied the sentiment and sprig piece (cut from Vellum) with Multipurpose Glue, and stamped the sentiment on the inside. You can see the shimmer from the Shimmery White Cardstock base in the picture below:

Once the whole card was dry, I embellished the front with some Snowflake Adhesive Backed Embellishments and my card was complete!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Shimmery White Cardstock card base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Balmy Blue cardstock middle layer: 4 x 5-1/4 inches

Night of Navy cardstock top layer: 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper sentiment: 1 x 3 inches (approximate)

Dove: 3-1/2 x 4-1/2 inches (approximate)

I hope you have enjoyed my project for this month! Please continue through our hop to see what my talented teammates have created with this month’s colors. Next up is Tami Hewlett!

Color Fusers Blog Hop for November 2019

It’s time for our November Color Fusers Blog Hop! We’ve got a festive color combo today of Copper, Pretty Peacock, and Cherry Cobbler. Please be sure to click though all of our blogs to see all of the projects that my talented teammates have created!

My project today features the Christmas Layers Dies, along with a sentiment from the Merry Moose stamp set. To make this card, I first cut a 4-1/2 x 4-1/2 inch piece of Shimmery White cardstock, and then carefully tore along each edge in order to make a square approximately 3-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches in size. I then took a small spray bottle and added 1/2 water and 1/2 rubbing alcohol, as well as about 10 drops of ink from a Pretty Peacock ink refill. After shaking well, I spritzed the color to cover the square. I then used an AquaPainter and Pretty Peacock ink pad to spatter some darker ink spots on the cardstock. I then set it aside to dry.

While the square was drying, I cut a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock and embossed it using the Scripty Embossing Folder. I also cut the snowflakes from Copper Foil using the Christmas Layers Dies, and stamped the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink using a stamp from the Merry Moose stamp set. The ends of the sentiment piece were trimmed by hand using Paper Snips.

Before assembling the card, I used a stamp from the Nature’s Beauty set to stamp some detail in Pretty Peacock ink. I then assembled the rest of the card using Snail adhesive, Mini Dimensionals, and the Fine Tip Glue Pen. I finished the card by adding some tiny snowflakes using Multipurpose Glue.

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Shimmery White cardstock base: 4-1/4 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Cherry Cobbler cardstock strip: 4-1/4 x 2 inches

Shimmery White cardstock top layer: 4-1/2 x 4-1/2 inches (torn by hand to measure approximately 3-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches in size)

Shimmery White sentiment piece: 2-1/2 x 1/2 inch

Copper Foil piece for die cut snowflakes: 3 x 4 inches

I hope you have enjoyed my project today! Whether you have come here from my Facebook page, Jo Anne Hewins page, or some other way, I hope you will continue to click through the rest of our pages to see some other projects created with this color combo. Up next is Bonnie O’Neill!

My First Holiday Catalog Project! (sort of…)

Today I am sharing my first project created with NEW Holiday Catalog products! It is not actually the first project I CREATED with new products though. It’s actually the second, but I am waiting a bit to share that one, as I used it for a swap and don’t want anyone to see it until I know everyone has received their cards!

This card was created with items from the Wrapped in Plaid Suite, as well as the Snowman Season stamp set. Colors are Night of Navy, Shaded Spruce, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, and Gold!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Night of Navy card stock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Shaded Spruce middle layer: 4 x 5-1/4 inches

Whisper White top layer: 3-3/4 x 5 inches

Wrapped in Plaid DSP banner piece: 2 x 4-1/4 inches (when cut will measure 2 x 4 inches or so)

Whisper White stitched tree piece: 2-5/8 x 2-5/8 inches

While the basic design is very simple for this card, some things I did to dress it up a bit include: using the Stitched Shapes Cutting Dies to frame the tree; using the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder on the background; and adding a Gold Glimmer Paper star punched with the Twinkle Builder Punch to the top of the tree. I also applied the tree piece with Stampin’ Dimensionals to make it pop off the card a little!

All of the new products used on this card will be available beginning September 4th! If you do not yet have a copy of the Holiday Catalog, let me know, and I will get one out to you right away!

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great day!

It’s Merry Monday! Today’s Projects Inspired by Paper Pumpkin!

Now that Thanksgiving is over, it is officially the Christmas season!  I have often mentioned that the Christmas Paper Pumpkin kits are my favorite.  This past weekend, I was going through old Paper Pumpkin samples, and I came across two cards which were both from the November 2015 kit.  I REALLY loved the cards from that kit…they are probably among my top three kits in all the time I’ve been a subscriber.  As I looked at them, I decided that I was going to try to re-create them using current projects.  So I did, and the finished cards are what I am sharing with you today!

Before I get into details about the new ones, I wanted to share what the originals looked like:

I just LOVE the color combination on these cards!  Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive are my absolute favorite Christmas color combo.  For the new versions, I had to switch the colors up a bit, but I still love the way they look together!

For my cards, I used Designer Series paper from two different packages.  The DSP I used in the first card is from the All is Bright DSP.  The paper on the other is from the Festive Farmhouse DSP.  Main colors on both cards are Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow, Crumb Cake, and Very Vanilla!

Card 1

This card features the following products:

  • All is Bright Designer Series Paper
  • In the Woods Framelits Dies
  • Feather & Frost Photopolymer Stamp Set
  • Linen Thread
  • Pearl Basic Jewels (colored with Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends)
  • White Stampin’ Emboss powder (used on the JOY sentiment)

Measurements for this card are:

Crumb Cake cardstock base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

DSP background layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

Very Vanilla background square:  1-7/8 x 1-7/8 inches

Very Vanilla Backing layer:  1-7/16 x 1-7/16 inches

Cherry Cobbler sentiment piece:  1-3/16 x 1-3/16 inches

Mossy Meadow leaves:  1-1/4 x 2-1/2 inches (approximate)

Card 2

This second card features the following products:

  • Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper
  • Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies
  • Nothing Sweeter stamp set
  • Linen Thread
  • Pearl Basic Jewels

Measurements for this card are:

Thick Very Vanilla cardstock base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Festive Farmhouse DSP background layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

Cherry Cobbler backing piece: 2-1/4 x 4-1/4 inches

Very Vanilla top layer:  2 x 4-1/8 inches

I love the originals of these cards, but I really love the new versions as well!  All this week, I will be featuring cards inspired by others I found online.  I need to make a bunch of cards for my school bazaar this coming weekend, and I need ideas I can do quickly and not have to think too much about!  I hope you’ll check back this week for something new each day!

Also, don’t forget that the second sale of Online Extravaganza is in full swing!  Today is the last day to save 10% on Annual Catalog stamp sets and kits!  Tomorrow starts a new set of products on sale, so if you have stamp sets you’ve had your heart set on, today is definitely the day to get them!

Please contact me with questions!  Thanks for visiting!

Holiday Catalog Inventory Update

So I have some good news, and I have some not so good news…the good news is that this year’s Holiday Catalog has been wildly popular! The bad news is that certain items have been SO wildly popular that they are in danger of selling out before the end of the Holiday Catalog ordering period.
Most of these items are not carrying over into a later catalog, so at this point, once they are gone, they are gone for good.   While these items are still available as of the writing of this post, that could change at any time.  If you have your heart set on any of the products shown below, please order ASAP to avoid disappointment!

In addition to the above items being close to selling out, there are a handful of items that have already officially SOLD OUT. These products are no longer available, and unfortunately, Stampin’ Up! will NOT be getting more in before the end of the Holiday Catalog ordering period. They are:

While it is disappointing that these products are no longer available, there are many others that still ARE, and would be wonderful for you to use in your Holiday crafting!  If there is anything I can help you with, please let me know!

Thank you for visiting today!
