Color Fusers Blog Hop for April 2021

Hello, and Happy Spring! Welcome to our Color Fusers Blog Hop for April. Today we have a pretty combination of Seaside Spray, Old Olive, and Real Red to share with you!

My card today features NEW Designer Series Paper from the upcoming Annual Catalog. It’s the Regals color family paper, and I used one of the designs in Real Red for my background. I used two stamps from the Painted Poppies stamp sets and stamped them all over the DSP in White Craft ink, then heat embossed them with White Embossing Powder. I then layered that over Basic White and layered both over a Real Red base. I stamped some of the paint spatters from the Painted Poppies set along the right side of the base in Versamark ink before mounting the layers onto the card.

I tied a piece of Old Olive ribbon from the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack, and tied a little bow, which I then secured with Linen Thread and left the ends loose for a little more detail. The sentiment was stamped In Seaside Spray ink, and is from the You Are Amazing stamp set. It’s punched with the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch and mounted to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I also stamped the inside with another image from the Painted Poppies stamp set, and repeated the same image on the envelope as well.

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Real Red cardstock base: 4-1/4 x 11 (scored at 5-1/2 and folded in half)

Basic White cardstock middle layer: 3-3/8 x 4-3/4 inches

Regals DSP top layer in Real Red: 3-1/8 x 4-1/2 inches

Basic White sentiment piece: 1-3/8 x 2 inches (approximate)

Basic White insert: 4 x 5-1/4 inches

To finish my card, I added a few clear Elegant Faceted gems. I love the little extra sparkle they give this card!

3D Thursday: Art Gallery Fluttering Wall Hanging

It’s Thursday! And that means, it’s time for another 3D Thursday project! This week, we have a beautiful butterfly themed wall hanging by Debbie Henderson. She has used items from the Art Gallery Suite to create this stunning project:

Isn’t it so pretty? I love the colors Debbie used as well! The Purple Posy for the butterflies looks so great against the reds and yellows of the flowers. Debbie also used the new Gilded Leafing to add some shine to her project. I have not tried it yet, as honestly, I’m a little intimidated by it (lol), but I have seen some really beautiful projects made with it. I really need to pull mine out and give it a try! Here’s an up close look at the detail the leafing adds to Debbie’s project:

If you would like more info on Debbie’s project, as well as instructions on how you can make your own, you can download Debbie’s FREE project sheet HERE, or by clicking the image below. It includes step by step instructions, as well as a complete supply list!

Color Fusers Blog Hop for January 2021

It’s time for our first Color Fuser’s Blog Hop of 2021! We are starting off the new year with a really pretty combination of Mango Melody, Melon Mambo, Garden Green, and Pacific Point. I hope you will hop through our whole team’s pages to see what everyone has created this month with this gorgeous color combo!

For my project, I used the NEW Forever & Always Bundle, which will be available on January 5th! This bundle combines gorgeous florals with large, flowing script, as well as some small, but bold sentiments. To make the flowers, I used the baby wipe technique to combine some Melon Mambo and Mango Melody inks. I took a baby wipe, folded it in half, then in half again. I then made a circle with drops of ink from my Mango Melody reinker, and then added a few drops of Melon Mambo to the center. I spritzed it with a little water, and gave it a few minutes to spread and settle a bit. I used it to ink up the flower stamps and stamped them on Shimmery White cardstock. Once they were dry, I cut them out using the coordinating dies from the bundle and set them aside. I also stamped two sets of leaves in Garden Green ink, then used a Water Painter to VERY lightly watercolor them. Once they were dry, I set them aside as well.

I wanted to add a strip of green DSP below the flowers and behind the sentiment, but I couldn’t find a Garden Green piece that I liked for this card, so I made one myself. I took a piece of Shimmery White cardstock, then used one of the new Blending Brushes to color it with some Garden Green ink. I then used a stamp from the Inspiring Iris stamp set, stamped it a few times on the blended green in Versamark ink, and heat embossed it in white embossing powder.

I stamped the Love sentiment in Melon Mambo ink, and framed it with a die from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. I also spattered the top layer of the card with Pacific Point ink. Once all of my pieces were stamped and cut, I assembled the card.

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Whisper White Thick Cardstock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Melon Mambo middle layer: 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

Shimmery White top layer: 3-3/4 x 5 inches

Shimmery White blended piece: 1-1/2 x 3 inches

Shimmery White piece for flowers/leaves: 3 x 4 inches

Shimmery Whote sentiment piece: 1-5/8 x 2-3/4 inches

To assemble the card, I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the layers and green background piece. I mounted the flowers, leaves, and sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped the second part of the sentiment (YOU) in Mango Melody ink directly onto the card, and finished the card with a couple of NEW Opal Rounds and a little Wink of Stella in the flowers’ centers. Finally, I stamped a coordinating envelope, and my project for this month was complete!

Color Fusers Blog Hop for November 2020

Welcome to our November Color Fuser’s Blog Hop! We got about four inches of snow where I live in CT on Friday, so I wanted to do something with bright and sunny flowers for my post today! My card features the Poppy Moments Dies, as well as a pretty color combo this month of Bumblebee, Poppy Parade, and Shaded Spruce!

To make the flowers for this card, I made a watercolor wash with Poppy Parade and Bumblebee reinkers, making sure to blend them a bit in the middle. Once the paper was dry, I cut the back layers of the flowers, and then cut the top layers from Poppy Parade and Bumblebee cardstock. I adhered the two layers for each flower together with multipurpose glue, then added the centers which were cut from Basic Black cardstock. I also cut some leaves in Shaded Spruce to incorporate it into the project. The Poppy Moments Dies contain all of the pieces you need to create full, perfect flowers! You can see the complete set below:

Another way I incorporated the Shaded Spruce is to add some light paint spatters in the background. I used a stamp from the Waterfront set and stamped off the ink twice before stamping the spatters onto the card. This way, they weren’t super dark, and were a more subtle addition to my project.

In addition to the Shaded Spruce leaves, I added some vellum sprigs and gold leaves as well. I also heat embossed the sentiment in gold, which is from the Tasteful Touches stamp set. I don’t use a lot of gold in my projects as I tend to prefer silver, but I do really like the way the gold looks with the colors we used this month! Take a look at the shiny leaves and sentiment in the picture below:

Finally, I added some Wink of Stella to the flowers’ centers, and some Gold Glitter Enamel Dots to finish the card. Now it is ready to send off to a friend in this week’s mail!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Basic Black cardstock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half).

Shimmery White cardstock top layer: 4 x 5-1/4 iinches

Poppy Parade flower piece: approximately 3 x 3 inches

Bumblebee flower piece: approximately 2 x 2 inches

Shaded Spruce leaves: size varies

Shine Bright with this Shimmery Christmas Card!

The card I am sharing today was made last month for a team swap! It features the Shine Bright stamp set, and cool, shimmery colors for Christmas. I love the traditional colors of red and green for Christmas, but sometimes, I like to switch it up. Blue, silver, and white remind me of ice and snow, and is my second favorite color combo for Christmas!

This card was made using Shimmery White cardstock as the base and top layer. I used the Layering Ovals Dies to cut a large oval from the top layer. I heat embossed the tree using VersaMark ink and Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Night of Navy cardstock. I then positioned the tree inside the oval and adhered both over the middle layer of Night of Navy. I used a sentiment from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set, made a small bow with Seaside Spray 1/4 inch Metallic Ribbon, and added some rhinestones to the tree for some added sparkle. The card was finished by cutting a small star out of Silver Glimmer Paper using the Twinkle Builder Punch, and adding it to the top of the tree. Even though the design of this card is simple, all of the shimmer and shine makes it seem fancier than it is!

Dimensions for this card are as follows:

Shimmery White cardstock card base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Night of Navy cardstock middle layer: 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

Shimmery White cardstock top layer: 3-3/4 x 5 inches

Oval Cut Out: 3-3/4 x 2-5/8 inches (approximate)

The Shine Bright stamp set is available in the online store until January 3rd. You can see it HERE. This stamp set is also available in a bundle with coordinating cutting dies. Be sure to take a look!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Have a great day!

Color Fusers Blog Hop for February 2019

Today I have the privilege of joining a very talented group of demonstrators: The Color Fusers Design Team! I am very excited and honored to have been asked to join them! Each month, we will post a project created with a specific set of Stampin’ Up! colors. This month’s colors are Petal Pink, Poppy Parade, Early Espresso, Basic Black, and Whisper White.

My card today features a watercolor wash in Poppy Parade, and a large floral design heat embossed in black. I added a layer of Petal Pink between my top layer and base, which I made using Early Espresso. I did not have any Petal Pink ribbon, so I colored some 1/8 inch Whisper White Sheer Ribbon with my Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends. I LOVE how you can make your own embellishments with the Blends! In addition to ribbon, I have also colored pearls, rhinestones, epoxy shapes, and more! The card is finished with some Petal Pink pearls from the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls, and has a pretty die cut sentiment piece made with the Stitched Labels Framelits.

The stamp set I used for this card is called All That You Are, and it’s one of my favorite new stamp sets from the new Occasions Catalog! Here’s a peek at the full set:

The mix of images and sentiments make this a great set to have in your collection!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Early Espresso cardstock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Petal Pink middle layer: 3-3/4 x 5 inches

Whisper White top layer: 3-5/8 x 4-7/8 inches

Die cut sentiment piece: 7/8 x 3 inches (approximate)

Keeping it Simple with Dandelion Wishes!

This weekend, I needed something quick and easy!  I was scrolling through PInterest and saw the above color combo and thought the colors looked really great together.  I also scrolled through my new stamp sets and realized that I had not yet used my Dandelion Wishes set, so I decided to go ahead and use it for this card!  This card has an incredibly simple layout, which makes it perfect for beginning crafters, or for someone who needs something quickly (like me)!

For this card, I used Coastal Cabana, Basic Gray, and Whisper White as my colors.  I used VersaMark ink to stamp the flowers and sentiment, and then heat embossed them both in white embossing powder.  I added an iridescent sequin to the center of each flower, and applied the sentiment piece with dimensionals to make it pop a bit!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Thick Whisper White cardstock base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches

Coastal Cabana layer:  3 x 5 inches

Basic Gray sentiment piece:  1-1/4 x 3-1/2 inches

This card is definitely simpler than what I usually make, but sometimes there’s just not enough time to make something more detailed!  I really love the simplicity of this card!  It would definitely still brighten someone’s day!  🙂

Introducing the Beautiful Blizzard Bundle!

One of my favorite new products in the Holiday Catalog is the new Beautiful Blizzard Bundle! This bundle can be used to make gorgeous snow themed projects for Holiday and/or general winter crafts.  The bundle contains the 11 piece Beautiful Blizzard rubber stamp set , as well as the Blizzard Thinlits Die.  Both items are also available individually, however, purchasing them together as the bundle will save you 10%!

Here’s a peek at the full bundle:

I love the large, one piece die!  With just one pass through the Big Shot, you can cut multiple snowflakes in different shapes and sizes.  A number of them were cut from Whisper White card stock and added to this card.  You can see them up close in the picture below:

I love how this card combines cool blues with the bright red of Christmas!  It really is a beautiful card!  (I wish I could take credit for it, but I can’t…it’s one of the sample images from the Holiday Catalog! You can find it on page 39.)

Thankful for the Falling For Leaves Stamp Set!

My card today features a new stamp set called Falling for Leaves!  It is a photopolymer set that contains 11 stamps.  It contains 8 leaves/foliage stamps and 3 sentiments.  The set can be purchased separately or as part of the Falling for Leaves Bundle, which also includes the 8 piece Detailed Leaves Thinlits.  (Purchase them together as the bundle and save 10%!)  Here’s what the full bundle looks like:

For my card today, I used only the stamp set.  Both the leaf and the sentiment are from the set.  I heat embossed the large leaf in white on Shimmery White card stock.  When it was cool, I used an aqua painter to apply Coastal Cabana and Granny Apple Green ink.  I also finely spattered some of both colors across the card stock as well!  When the ink was dry, I stamped the sentiment in Jet Black StazOn ink, and added some Glitter Enamel Dots to finish it off!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Basic Black card stock base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Shimmery White card stock top layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

I love these colors together, especially against the black and white!  I hope you do too!  The Falling for Leaves stamp set, thinlits, and bundle will be available September 5th.  Check them out in the online store beginning then, or contact me for a catalog today!
