Color Fusers Blog Hop for June 2021

One of the things I look forward to most when a new Annual Catalog comes out is the release of new In Colors. They are always such a great surprise! This year’s colors are absolutely stunning, and I really love that there are two greens, as green is my favorite color. For this month’s hop, we are featuring the new colors, and I cannot wait to see what everyone has created!

For my project, I used a new bundle from the Annual Catalog called the Forever Grapevine Bundle. The bundle includes a 7 piece cling stamp set, as well as a 6 piece coordinating cutting die set. Take a peek at the full bundle below:

To make my card, I took two sheets of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and cut them in half. I then added a few drops of each new In Color ink to separate wells in a small plastic artist’s palette, and added some water to each. I watercolored each piece of the watercolor paper with a different color and let them dry thoroughly. (For the two greens, I combined both on one piece.) Once they were completely dry, I applied Adhesive sheets to the back of each piece, and used the largest die in the die set to cut a full die cut in each color.

Once I had all of the pieces cut, I adhered the green vine piece to a piece of watercolor paper (trimmed to 3-1/2 x 5 inches). I then carefully cut out a few leaves of each of the other colors and adhered them over their matching green leaves. Before adding this top layer to the card base, I cut the scalloped piece on the left side with a die from the Basic Borders Dies set. I cut this piece from the remainder of the green watercolored piece, then turned it over so that the white side was facing outward. Even though the white is showing, the green still pops a little where the stitch marks are:

To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment from the Forever Grapevine stamp set onto watercolor paper, punched it out with the Label Me Lovely Punch, and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A few of the new In Color Rhinestones in Pale Papaya were added, and the card was finished!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Thick Basic White cardstock base: 4-1/4 x 11 inches (scored at 5-1/2 inches and folded in half)

Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper top layer: 3-1/3 x 5 inches

Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper Scalloped edge: 1 x 4-3/4 inches

Sentiment piece: Approximately 2-1/8 inches x 2-1/8 inches

All watercolored pieces for die cut vines: 3-1/2 x 5 inches
