Color Fusers Blog Hop for May 2020

Happy May, Everyone! April flew by, despite many challenges, and I have tremendous hope that we will finally start seeing some good news this month! Our color combo this month is a bright, sunny combo of Call Me Clover, Night of Navy, and Pineapple Punch. TWO of these colors are retiring June 2nd, so if you love them, stock up while you can!

I realized last night about 9:30 pm that I had this hop today. For some reason, I thought it was NEXT week. Oops! This card layout is pretty much my go-to layout when I need a card quickly. It’s simple in design and easy to create, and by adding texture, embellishments, etc., you can dress it up to look really nice! Some added touches on this card include paint spatters in the background, the use of Shimmery White cardstock for the top layer, stitched edging, pearls, an embossed middle layer, and a simple bow!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Night of Navy cardstock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Call Me Clover cardstock layer: 3-3/4 x 5 inches

Shimmery White cardstock layer: 3 x 4-3/8 inches

Shimmery White cardstock insert: 4 x 5-1/4 inches

My flowers were stamped in Black StazOn ink, and watercolored using Aqua Painters. After coloring the flowers, I swirled some green into the yellow before I did the paint spatters, and though it’s hard to tell from the pictures, some of them have an almost ombre effect! The flowers are from the Painted Poppies stamp set and the sentiment is from the Here’s a Card set.

As mentioned above, TWO of the colors we used today are retiring June 2nd. They are Pineapple Punch and Call Me Clover. Be sure to visit the online store HERE to stock up on your favorites before they’re gone for good! Typically, retiring color products sell out quickly, so order ASAP to avoid disappointment!

Be sure to check out the Last Chance Products section of the online store for ALL retiring products, in addition to the retiring In Colors! Some items have been marked down, and ALL retiring products are only available while supplies last.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you are happy and well. Please continue to the next stop on our hop, which is Melanie Hockin’s page!

Enjoy your day! 🙂

3D Thursday: Mug Mix Treat Holder

Does anyone else feel like the week flies by? Every time I sit down to do my weekly post for 3D Thursday, I feel like I just did the previous week’s. Maybe it’s just because we’ve all been stuck at home for a month and I’m going a little stir crazy! 🙂

Today, we have Guest Designer Sherri Everett Bishop joining us! Sherri is a demonstrator friend of mine from Maine, and she has created this fun Mug Mix Treat Holder. If you’re not familiar with mug mix, it’s a single serving cake or other dessert mix that you add to a mug, add a couple of simple ingredients, and then pop in the microwave for a minute or so. They are PERFECT when you are craving something sweet but don’t have the time (or the willpower) to make a whole cake/pan of brownies/sheet of cookies!

Here’s what Sherri has created for us today:

Here’s a peek at the inside:

The package of mug mix nests right in the little insert she has created on the inside, and then the bottom folds up and ties with a bow to hold everything together. What a great design and a great way to send someone a sweet treat!

Here’s a close up of the greeting and design on the front:

Wouldn’t the front of Sherri’s project also make a beautiful card? I think so!

This project features products from the NEW Ornate Garden Suite, which is available now in the online store, and is also one of the many new gorgeous suites available in the upcoming 2020-2021 Annual Catalog! (Which I got to see yesterday and you are going to LOVE!)

If you would like to make this project yourself, you can download Sherri’s FREE project sheet HERE or by clicking on the image below. There are so many fun ways you can make these, just by switching up the colors and paper!

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great day!

3D Thursday: Bath and Body Works Hand Sanitizer Holder

For this week’s 3D Thursday project, Sarah Wills has created this fabulous hand sanitizer holder for Bath & Body Works PocketBac hand sanitizers! She used items from the NEW Ornate Garden Suite to create this project, which is now available for preorder in the online store!

Take a look at what she has created:

These would make a perfect gift for school food service workers, healthcare workers, grocery and retail workers, mail carriers, or anyone else who is an essential worker during this time. It’s just a little way to say thank you, while also giving them a little something to help keep them healthy. Sarah mentioned that she made a bunch of these and will give them out to workers at her local grocery store. How awesome is that?

This project could easily be adapted to match the colors on any bottle of hand sanitizer by switching up the paper and colors used. You can find complete instructions HERE or by clicking the image of Sarah’s project sheet below:

I hope you have enjoyed this week’s project! Next week, I will be back with another fun 3D Thursday project, as well as a new Color Fusers project on Monday!

Stay safe and healthy!

3D Thursday: Mason Jar Beehive and Pen Set

Happy Thursday! This week it’s my turn to create for 3D Thursday! 🙂

I follow a lot of different craft sites and one thing I’ve noticed is that bees are definitely a huge trend right now. There are LOTS of posts about beehives and bee related crafts, especially now that Spring is right around the corner! I like to put my own twist on popular projects using Stampin’ Up products, so I made a mason jar beehive with three flower pens:

The base of this project is a pint sized mason jar. I covered the jar with a thin layer of Multipurpose Glue and then used the 5/16″ Braided Burlap Trim to wrap the jar. I let the jar sit overnight and dry completely before completing it the next day. Once the whole project was finished, I filled the jar with glass vase gems (not shown) to add some weight and give the finished pens something to rest on while in the jar!

You can make your own set using my FREE project sheet, available below! The sheet contains step by step, full color instructions, along with a complete supply list of everything you need. You can download the sheet HERE, or by clicking the image below:

This project is sweet and useful, and was A LOT of fun to create. I hope you’ll consider making one of your own!

Thank you for visiting today! Please contact me if you have any questions regarding my project. I would be happy to help!

Color Fusers Blog Hop for March 2020

Welcome to our Color Fusers March 2020 blog hop! Today, we have a really pretty color combo to share! I just love the combination of green and brown together. I love it so much, that it was actually my color scheme for my wedding in 2008. I wore a light ivory gown, and my bridesmaids wore dark brown. All of my accents were different shades of green, including my main flowers, which were green Cymbidium Orchids. I made all of my own wedding stationery, and though I was not a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator at the time, I used Stampin’ Up! products in everything I made. My Stampin’ Up! colors were Certainly Celery (now retired), Early Espresso, and Very Vanilla. (Not EXACTLY the colors used today’s project, but on the same idea)!

For today’s project, I used the Parisian Beauty and Forever Blossoms stamp sets, as well as the Parisian Dies:

To make this card, I used Soft Suede card stock for the base, then Pear Pizzazz for the middle layer, and Very Vanilla for the top. I wanted a very soft look for this card, so any stamped images were stamped off at least twice in order to leave it very light in color.

I stamped the blossoms on the background in Mint Macaron ink. I stamped each off twice before stamping onto my final layer. I then used the script stamp from Parisian Beauty to stamp some script in multiple spots using Soft Suede. Those were stamped off three times each before stamping the final images. I then used a sponge dauber to sponge some Pear Pizzazz ink very lightly in the center of each large flower, as well as some Crumb Cake lightly along the edges.

The Eiffel Tower was cut from Crumb Cake card stock using the large die from the Parisian Dies set, and the “merci” was cut in Pear Pizzazz using a die from the same set. (I had originally planned to use Soft Suede for the tower, but I felt it was too dark, so I went with the lighter color!) Once the two top layers were adhered together with Snail adhesive, I attached them to the base using Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish this card, I added three small pearls to the front, as well as a simple sentiment from the By the Dock stamp set to the inside:

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Soft Suede card stock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half).

Pear Pizzazz card stock middle layer: 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

Very Vanilla card stock top layer: 3-3/4 x 5 inches

Crumb Cake Eiffel Tower piece: 2-3/4 x 5 inches

Pear Pizzazz “merci” piece: 1/2 x 2-1/2 inches

Right now, you can get both the Parisian Beauty stamp set and Parisian Dies as a bundle for 10% off the price of both purchased separately! Take a peek at the full bundle below:

The full Forever Blossoms stamp set can also be seen below:

I love how all of these products work so well together!

A Sunny Friendship Card made with the Band Together Stamp Set

My card today was made with the Band Together stamp set and coordinating cutting dies! I made this card for a swap, and decided to use yellow, as yellow is not a color I use often. This stamp set has not only floral images, but also has a nice assortment of sentiments for different occasions, including birthdays, thank yous, and friendship! Here is a peek at the full set:

For this card, I used Daffodil Delight cardstock for the flower, and heat embossed it in white. I also used white and Old Olive vellum to add leaf accents behind the flower. I cut out a circle and stamped a spatter pattern from Artisan Textures to add more detail, and embossed the top layer using the new Scripty 3D Embossing Folder. I finished off the card by adding a few sequins from the Gingham Gala Adhesive Backed Sequins. Every card needs a little bling!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Thick Whisper White cardstock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Whisper White top layer: 4 x 5-1/4 inches

Daffodil Delight floral piece: 2 x 2-1/4 inches

Vellum pieces: 2 x 2 inches (approximate)

Sentiment piece: 1-1/8 x 2 inches

From now until the end of the Annual Catalog ordering period, the stamp set and dies used on this card can be purchased as a bundle for a savings of 10% off the price of them separately! I absolutely love this set! It’s super versatile with it’s gorgeous assortment of images and greetings!

Please let me know if you have any questions about today’s card. Thanks for stopping by!

A Simple Garden Lane Thank You

My project today features one of my favorite new products: the Garden Lane Designer Series Paper! It features gorgeous floral patterns in five (yes, FIVE) shades of green! Green is my favorite color, so when I saw this paper, I instantly fell in love with it! Here are the five greens, as well as a peek at the full array of designs in this paper:

For this card, I used Mint Macaron cardstock as the base, as well as Pear Pizzazz and Mint Macaron ink. These perfectly coordinate with the Mint Macaron ribbon looped behind the back of the sentiment piece.

The “thank you” sentiment is from the Love What You Do stamp set, and the tiny butterfly is from the Butterfly Gala set. It was punched with the coordinating Butterfly Duet Punch.

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Mint Macaron cardstock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Garden Lane DSP background layer: 4 x 5-1/4 inches

Whisper White Sentiment piece: 2 inches in diameter

Whisper White butterfly: 1 x 1 inch (approximate size)

This was a quick and easy thank you that was given to my son’s teacher at the end of the school year. I love its simplicity!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Color Fusers Blog Hop for July 2019

Welcome to the Color Fusers blog hop for July! This month’s palette is a trio of soft, light colors: Soft Sea Foam, Seaside Spray, and Purple Posy!

I LOVE pastel colors! They’ve always been my favorite, ever since I started stamping almost 16 years ago. Although the colors we used for this month’s projects are all soft shades, they are actually from two different Stampin’ Up! color families: Soft Sea Foam is part of the Subtles family, while Seaside Spray and Purple Posy are two of the NEW In Colors for 2019-2021!

In addition to our three featured colors, this card also features the new Band Together stamp set. This set can be found on page 121 of the Annual Catalog, as well as in the Online Store. It includes 8 red rubber cling stamps, and can be paired with the coordinating Detailed Bands Dies. The stamps and dies are available as a bundle as well. Purchasing the bundle will save 10% off the cost of both items separately!

Here’s a peek at the full set:

Band Together Cling Set
Set of 8 stamps
Item #149231
$23.00

I love the large floral image in this set. It can be used to make a card for pretty much any occasion! I also love that this set contains sentiments for both the front and inside of the card.

To make this card, I used Seaside Spray cardstock as the base, then layered Soft Sea Foam and Whisper White cardstock on top. The front image was stamped in Memento Black ink, and colored with both Soft Sea Foam and Purple Posy Stampin’ Blends Markers. I decided to soften the image by layering vellum over the whole top layer. The greeting was stamped in Seaside Spray ink right on the vellum itself, so that it stands out a bit from the other images. (One thing to keep in mind about vellum: if you stamp on it the ink takes a LOT longer to dry!)

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Seaside Spray cardstock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Soft Sea Foam cardstock middle layer: 4 x 5-1/4 inches

Whisper White top layer: 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

Vellum Overlay: 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

All layers were adhered with Snail adhesive, except for the vellum. For the vellum layer, I used a Mini Glue Dot in each corner, and pressed just hard enough for it to stay secured to the card. If you use light pressure, it’s very hard to see the glue dot through the vellum. The more you press, the more noticeable the glue dot will be!

To finish the card, I embellished with Basic Adhesive Backed Sequins and Seaside Spray 1/2″ Scalloped Linen Ribbon. I stamped the inside of the card, stamped the envelope to match, and my project was complete!

Please continue on to the next stop on our hop this month, Bonnie O’Neill’s page, to see what fun project she has created this month!

Thanks so much for visiting today! Enjoy your day!
