Blended Seasons Congrats Card

My card today was created by my very talented and generous upline, Sarah Wills!  I got this card yesterday, along with some other goodies from her, and it completely made my day!  Sarah makes the most gorgeous cards, and I always love the colors she puts together!  For this card, she used the Blended Seasons stamp set, which is part of the Color Your Season Promotion.  This set, along with coordinating cutting dies, are only available until August 31st or while supplies last.  Here is a peek at the stamp set:

This set is so perfect for year round crafting!  It’s got flowers and leaves for Spring and Summer, leaves and wheat for Autumn, and holly and bells for Christmas/Winter.  For this card, Sarah paired the large floral stamp with the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper.  I just love how the flowers look against the grain of the wood!

The main color Sarah used on this card is Calypso Coral.  The image was colored using Stampin’ Blends.  I am assuming that the yellow in the center of the flowers is Daffodil Delight and that the leaves are either Old Olive or Granny Apple Green.  (If I get a definite answer on the green, I will let you know!)  She also added just a pop of black by adding a small piece of black cardstock cut with the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch, as well as the stamping the sentiment in black.  I love the contrast of the black against the lighter colors!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Calypso Coral card base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 5-1/2 inches and folded in half)

Very Vanilla middle layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

Wood Textures DSP top layer:  3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

Very Vanilla banner piece:  3/8 x 2 inches

Black punched piece:  1/2 x 1-5/8 inches (approximate)

I just love getting happy mail, and it’s always a happy day when I get mail from Sarah!  I just love this card she created, and may have to make more of these for myself!  Again, if you love this stamp set and bundle, there are only a few days left to get it.  Click HERE to visit the Color Your Season section of the online store to get your set before they’re gone for good!

Have a great weekend!  Thanks for visiting today!

Check out the New Frosted Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper!

If you think the card in the picture above looks a little shiny, that’s because it IS!  I used a brand new paper from the Holiday Catalog called the Frosted Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper!  Not only does this paper have absolutely gorgeous colors and designs, all of it is coated with a beautiful, shimmery sheen.  It is absolutely stunning!  You can see the full array of designs in this paper below:

For this card, I used a floral design from the paper along with a birthday sentiment from the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set.  I also used the limited time only Stitched Seasons Framelits as well!

Other products used on this card include Shimmery White card stock for the base and sentiment, Soft Sea Foam card stock for the middle layer and some accent leaves, Silver Baker’s Twine, and a new embellishment called the Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets.  I colored the droplets with my Dark Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blends marker to add a hint of color before applying them to the card!  Here’s a close up of the sentiment piece and the embellishments.  I hope you can see the hint of green on the droplets.  It’s very, very subtle!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Shimmery White cardstock base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Soft Sea Foam middle layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

DSP top layer:  3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

Shimmery White sentiment piece:  2-1/4 x 3-1/8 (approximate)

Vellum and Soft Sea Foam leaves: ranges from 1 to 1-1/2 inches wide x 2 inches long (approximate)

This card is so pretty in person!  I wish you could see the shimmer of the paper.  It’s very subtle and not at all glaring!  This paper would make a great accents on cards, tags, scrapbook pages, and so much more!  It will be available September 5th when the Holiday Catalog goes live for customers.  I hope you will check it out!

CASE the Catty Day 6: A Beautiful Day Happy Anniversary Card

Today is my final project for CASE the Catty week!  I hope you have enjoyed my projects!  Today’s card was CASE’d from a card on page 110 of the Annual Catalog.  You can see the original in the pic below.  The one I copied is the top one:

For my version, I used the Beautiful Day stamp set for the flower and the Beautiful Bouquet set for the sentiment.  I also used a stamp from the Time for Tea set for the leaves.  The colors I used are Lovely Lipstick, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Basic Black, and Whisper White.

For my card, I heat embossed the sentiment in white embossing powder.  I also colored in the leaves with Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends Markers, and embellished with some Iridescent Sequins!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Thick Whisper White card base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 and folded in half)

Whisper White top layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

Flower:  2-3/4 x 2-3/4 inches

Basic Black strip:  1-1/8 x 4 inches

The Stampin’ Up! catalog is a great source of inspiration for projects!  It is always packed with gorgeous, full color samples that showcase all of the amazing products we offer!  Do you have a copy?  If not, feel free to contact me and I will get one out to you right away!

CASE the Catty Day 5: Love What You Do Mini Note Card

Today’s card is a mini note card inspired by a gift bag on page 71 of the Annual Catalog!  It features the Perennial Birthday and Love What You Do stamp sets, as well as the Polka Dot Basics Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and Blossom Elements.  Here is what the project looks like that I copied:

I kept some of the same colors and elements, but changed some up a bit!  I went with a mini note card that I plan to hole punch in the corner and use as a hanging gift tag.  I did keep the same colors for all of the ink, though I did change the background color.  The catalog sample uses Basic Gray and I used Night of Navy!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Night of Navy card base:  3 x 6 inches (scored at 3 inches and folded in half)

Night of Navy polka dot embossed top layer:  2-7/8 x 2-7/8 inches

Whisper White stitched circle:  2-3/8 inches in diameter

I love mini note cards!  They can be used not only as cards, but also as gift tags, lunch box notes, or for a little pick me up to stick in a co-workers mailbox!  They have so many fun uses!

Please check back tomorrow for one more CASE the Catty project!  Thanks for stopping by!

Simply Stated Sympathy Card with Graceful Glass Designer Vellum

I always find it hard to make sympathy cards.  I feel like it’s such a delicate subject matter and I don’t always know what to say.  So usually when I have to make one, I try to keep it short, sweet, and simple.  This card was made with the Graceful Glass 6 x 6 inch Designer Vellum, the Kindness & Compassion stamp set, Stampin’ Blends Markers, and the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Colors are Highland Heather, Granny Apple Green, Smoky Slate, and Whisper White.

The Graceful Glass 6 x 6 Designer Vellum is so pretty!  It was designed specifically to be hand colored.  I like to use Stampin’ Blends on it, but it can also be colored with any other coloring tool that Stampin’ Up! offers, including Stampin’ Write Markers, Aqua painters, Watercolor pencils, and more!  It contains 12 different designs and you get 2 of each sheet in the package, for a total of 24 sheets. The sheet I used has four different floral columns, including peonies, irises, roses, and lilies!  Here’s what the full sheet looks like:

For this card, I trimmed out the center of the iris column and mounted it on a Whisper White backing.  I then used a piece of Highland Heather card stock as the background and embossed it with the Subtle Dynamic Textures Impressions Embossing Folder.  I LOVE this folder!  It’s perfect when you want to add just a hint of detail to a project without it being too bold or overwhelming.

When I first made this card, I used the vellum column as is.  But when I put it on the card, I felt that the irises were a little too low on the card.  So I trimmed a section off the top and then relocated it to the bottom instead, and then used that as my final piece:

Here’s what the rearranged strip looked like before I applied it to the card:

When I assembled the card, I made sure to place the sentiment strip over the seam between the two pieces so that it is hidden.  I was much happier with the irises a little closer to the top of the card!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Thick Whisper White card base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Highland Heather layer: 4 x 5-1/4 inches

Iris vellum strip:  1-3/16 x 5-1/8 inches

Whisper White strip behind vellum:  1-3/8 x 5-1/4 inches

Whisper White sentiment strip:  3/4 x 4 inches

I didn’t add too much additional embellishment for this card, as I wanted to keep it simple.  I did add a couple of pearls to the upper right corner, just to add a little something!

If you have any questions about this card, please let me know.  Thanks for stopping by!

Varied Vases Thank You Card

My card today is one that I cannot take full credit for!  I did make it, but it was originally designed and created by my friend and fellow demonstrator, Sherri Everett.  I made this one at an event she hosted a few weeks ago in Maine.  It is one of ten cards I made with her that day!

This card features the Varied Vases photopolymer stamp set.  This stamp set was designed by million dollar achiever, Mary Fish.  It is part of a bundle that includes both the stamp set, as well as a coordinating punch. Of course, each item is available separately, but you can save 10% if you purchase both items as the bundle!

For this card, we just used the stamp set.  Sherri paired Pool Party with Gorgeous Grape cardstock for the colors.  Of course, they look great against the black and white!  Other items used on this card include the Layering Circle and Stitched Shapes Framelits dies; Basic Black Solid Baker’s Twine; and Gorgeous Grape 1/4″ Mini Striped Ribbon!

Some portions of this card are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals for some added height and texture.  Also, the black scallops along the left side of the vase piece were actually three 1/2 inch circles, cut using the 1/2 Inch Circle Punch!  I love how they look on this card!  It adds a really nice bit of detail!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Thick Whisper White card stock base:  4-1/4 x 11 inches (scored at 5-1/2 inches and folded in half)

Pool Party triangular piece:  4 x 5-1/4 inches (cut diagonally across to make the triangle)

Gorgeous Grape triangular piece:  4 x 5-1/4 inches (cut diagonally across to make the triangle)

Whisper White top layer: 2-1/4 x 3-1/2 inches

Whisper White stitched sentiment piece:  1-3/8 inches in diameter

Basic Black sentiment backing layer:  1-5/8 inches in dimater

Basic Black circles on left:  1/2 inch each

There was one little change I made to this card from the original, and that was the color of the ink I used for the stamping.  On Sherri’s original card, all of the stamping was done in black ink (I believe she used Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.)  At the time I made this card all of the black pads were being used by other stampers, and I was too lazy to walk around and look for one!  LOL!  So I grabbed Basic Gray and used that instead.  The water in the vase is stamped in Pool Party, and the flowers are stamped in Gorgeous Grape to match the background colors!

The Varied Vases Bundle is one that I do not have myself (yet), so I was happy to get to use it at Sherri’s event!  It is definitely on my wish list and something I plan to add to my collection very soon!

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s project!  Thanks for visiting!

Stitched Seasons Meets Sunshine Wishes!

Today’s card features the upcoming Stitched Seasons Framelits dies, along with the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits and Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper!  The Stitched Seasons Framelits are part of the August 1st release of the Stitched Seasons products.  I recently wrote a post about this new bundle, with all the relevant info regarding release dates, products, and more!  If you missed it, you can read all about it HERE.

For today’s card, I made a wedding card with Powder Pink and White for the colors.  I used a pattern from the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper that looks almost like stone for the background, and accented it with Powder Pink shimmer ribbon, as well as some floral die cuts in both Powder Pink and vellum.

The sentiment is die cut from the new Sparkle Glimmer Paper and centered right in the middle of the card.  There is NO stamping on this card at all.  Everything is cut with the Stampin’ Trimmer and the Big Shot!  Here is a close up of the center portion of the card:

The Petal Promenade Paper is gorgeous!  Most patterns are made from photographs of real flowers, stone, etc. This paper is also part of the Buy 3 Get 1 FREE Sale this month!  Here’s the full array of designs in the Petal Promenade paper:

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Powder Pink card base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Designer Series Paper layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

Whisper White Stitched Seasons Die Cut Layer:  3 x 4 inches

Powder Pink floral vine die cut:  1 x 3-1/8 inches (approximately)

Vellum die cuts:  varies (range from 1 x 3 to 1 x 2 inches)

Sparkle “congrats” sentiment:  1 x 3-3/4 inches

This card is perfect for a wedding, and is so pretty and sparkly in person!  I hope you like it!

Thanks for checking in!

Tea Room Friendship Card

One of my favorite designer series papers in this year’s catalog is the Tea Room Specialty Designer Series Paper!  This paper has a great selection of beautiful patterns including flowers, bees, butterflies, and more.  And the colors are just gorgeous!  The pattern I used for today’s card is a mix of flowers, leaves, and butterflies, and is printed in shades of Crushed Curry.  I decided to pair the paper with Basic Gray, as I love the combination of yellow, gray, and white (though in this case, it’s Crushed Curry, Basic Gray, and Very Vanilla!)

The sentiment is from the Time for Tea photopolymer stamp set, and the scalloped layer behind the sentiment is from the Spot of Tea Framelits dies.  The paper, stamps, framelits, and the ribbon I used are all from the NEW Tea Room Suite!  The full suite of products can be found on pages 14-15 in the annual catalog, or you can view them HERE.

Besides the Tea Room ribbon, I embellished this card with some vellum leaves.  Some were cut with the Leaf Punch, and others were cut using a die from the Bouquet Bunch Framelits.  I also added some copper leaves from the Leaves Trinkets embellishments, as well as a couple of Share What You Love Artisan Pearls to finish it off!  Here’s a close up of the embellishments on and around the sentiment piece:

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Basic Gray card base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Crushed Curry middle layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

DSP top layer: 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

Basic Gray sentiment backing layer: 2-3/4 inches in diameter (approximately)

Very Vanilla sentiment piece:  2-1/4 inches in diameter

Vellum pieces for leaves: 1-3/4 x 2 inches (approximately)

You can find all of the products used on this card in the links below!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great weekend!
