3D Thursday: Mason Jar Beehive and Pen Set

Happy Thursday! This week it’s my turn to create for 3D Thursday! 🙂

I follow a lot of different craft sites and one thing I’ve noticed is that bees are definitely a huge trend right now. There are LOTS of posts about beehives and bee related crafts, especially now that Spring is right around the corner! I like to put my own twist on popular projects using Stampin’ Up products, so I made a mason jar beehive with three flower pens:

The base of this project is a pint sized mason jar. I covered the jar with a thin layer of Multipurpose Glue and then used the 5/16″ Braided Burlap Trim to wrap the jar. I let the jar sit overnight and dry completely before completing it the next day. Once the whole project was finished, I filled the jar with glass vase gems (not shown) to add some weight and give the finished pens something to rest on while in the jar!

You can make your own set using my FREE project sheet, available below! The sheet contains step by step, full color instructions, along with a complete supply list of everything you need. You can download the sheet HERE, or by clicking the image below:

This project is sweet and useful, and was A LOT of fun to create. I hope you’ll consider making one of your own!

Thank you for visiting today! Please contact me if you have any questions regarding my project. I would be happy to help!

Color Fusers Blog Hop for March 2020

Welcome to our Color Fusers March 2020 blog hop! Today, we have a really pretty color combo to share! I just love the combination of green and brown together. I love it so much, that it was actually my color scheme for my wedding in 2008. I wore a light ivory gown, and my bridesmaids wore dark brown. All of my accents were different shades of green, including my main flowers, which were green Cymbidium Orchids. I made all of my own wedding stationery, and though I was not a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator at the time, I used Stampin’ Up! products in everything I made. My Stampin’ Up! colors were Certainly Celery (now retired), Early Espresso, and Very Vanilla. (Not EXACTLY the colors used today’s project, but on the same idea)!

For today’s project, I used the Parisian Beauty and Forever Blossoms stamp sets, as well as the Parisian Dies:

To make this card, I used Soft Suede card stock for the base, then Pear Pizzazz for the middle layer, and Very Vanilla for the top. I wanted a very soft look for this card, so any stamped images were stamped off at least twice in order to leave it very light in color.

I stamped the blossoms on the background in Mint Macaron ink. I stamped each off twice before stamping onto my final layer. I then used the script stamp from Parisian Beauty to stamp some script in multiple spots using Soft Suede. Those were stamped off three times each before stamping the final images. I then used a sponge dauber to sponge some Pear Pizzazz ink very lightly in the center of each large flower, as well as some Crumb Cake lightly along the edges.

The Eiffel Tower was cut from Crumb Cake card stock using the large die from the Parisian Dies set, and the “merci” was cut in Pear Pizzazz using a die from the same set. (I had originally planned to use Soft Suede for the tower, but I felt it was too dark, so I went with the lighter color!) Once the two top layers were adhered together with Snail adhesive, I attached them to the base using Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish this card, I added three small pearls to the front, as well as a simple sentiment from the By the Dock stamp set to the inside:

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Soft Suede card stock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half).

Pear Pizzazz card stock middle layer: 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

Very Vanilla card stock top layer: 3-3/4 x 5 inches

Crumb Cake Eiffel Tower piece: 2-3/4 x 5 inches

Pear Pizzazz “merci” piece: 1/2 x 2-1/2 inches

Right now, you can get both the Parisian Beauty stamp set and Parisian Dies as a bundle for 10% off the price of both purchased separately! Take a peek at the full bundle below:

The full Forever Blossoms stamp set can also be seen below:

I love how all of these products work so well together!

A Sunny Friendship Card made with the Band Together Stamp Set

My card today was made with the Band Together stamp set and coordinating cutting dies! I made this card for a swap, and decided to use yellow, as yellow is not a color I use often. This stamp set has not only floral images, but also has a nice assortment of sentiments for different occasions, including birthdays, thank yous, and friendship! Here is a peek at the full set:

For this card, I used Daffodil Delight cardstock for the flower, and heat embossed it in white. I also used white and Old Olive vellum to add leaf accents behind the flower. I cut out a circle and stamped a spatter pattern from Artisan Textures to add more detail, and embossed the top layer using the new Scripty 3D Embossing Folder. I finished off the card by adding a few sequins from the Gingham Gala Adhesive Backed Sequins. Every card needs a little bling!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Thick Whisper White cardstock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Whisper White top layer: 4 x 5-1/4 inches

Daffodil Delight floral piece: 2 x 2-1/4 inches

Vellum pieces: 2 x 2 inches (approximate)

Sentiment piece: 1-1/8 x 2 inches

From now until the end of the Annual Catalog ordering period, the stamp set and dies used on this card can be purchased as a bundle for a savings of 10% off the price of them separately! I absolutely love this set! It’s super versatile with it’s gorgeous assortment of images and greetings!

Please let me know if you have any questions about today’s card. Thanks for stopping by!

A Simple Garden Lane Thank You

My project today features one of my favorite new products: the Garden Lane Designer Series Paper! It features gorgeous floral patterns in five (yes, FIVE) shades of green! Green is my favorite color, so when I saw this paper, I instantly fell in love with it! Here are the five greens, as well as a peek at the full array of designs in this paper:

For this card, I used Mint Macaron cardstock as the base, as well as Pear Pizzazz and Mint Macaron ink. These perfectly coordinate with the Mint Macaron ribbon looped behind the back of the sentiment piece.

The “thank you” sentiment is from the Love What You Do stamp set, and the tiny butterfly is from the Butterfly Gala set. It was punched with the coordinating Butterfly Duet Punch.

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Mint Macaron cardstock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Garden Lane DSP background layer: 4 x 5-1/4 inches

Whisper White Sentiment piece: 2 inches in diameter

Whisper White butterfly: 1 x 1 inch (approximate size)

This was a quick and easy thank you that was given to my son’s teacher at the end of the school year. I love its simplicity!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Color Fusers Blog Hop for July 2019

Welcome to the Color Fusers blog hop for July! This month’s palette is a trio of soft, light colors: Soft Sea Foam, Seaside Spray, and Purple Posy!

I LOVE pastel colors! They’ve always been my favorite, ever since I started stamping almost 16 years ago. Although the colors we used for this month’s projects are all soft shades, they are actually from two different Stampin’ Up! color families: Soft Sea Foam is part of the Subtles family, while Seaside Spray and Purple Posy are two of the NEW In Colors for 2019-2021!

In addition to our three featured colors, this card also features the new Band Together stamp set. This set can be found on page 121 of the Annual Catalog, as well as in the Online Store. It includes 8 red rubber cling stamps, and can be paired with the coordinating Detailed Bands Dies. The stamps and dies are available as a bundle as well. Purchasing the bundle will save 10% off the cost of both items separately!

Here’s a peek at the full set:

Band Together Cling Set
Set of 8 stamps
Item #149231
$23.00

I love the large floral image in this set. It can be used to make a card for pretty much any occasion! I also love that this set contains sentiments for both the front and inside of the card.

To make this card, I used Seaside Spray cardstock as the base, then layered Soft Sea Foam and Whisper White cardstock on top. The front image was stamped in Memento Black ink, and colored with both Soft Sea Foam and Purple Posy Stampin’ Blends Markers. I decided to soften the image by layering vellum over the whole top layer. The greeting was stamped in Seaside Spray ink right on the vellum itself, so that it stands out a bit from the other images. (One thing to keep in mind about vellum: if you stamp on it the ink takes a LOT longer to dry!)

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Seaside Spray cardstock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Soft Sea Foam cardstock middle layer: 4 x 5-1/4 inches

Whisper White top layer: 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

Vellum Overlay: 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

All layers were adhered with Snail adhesive, except for the vellum. For the vellum layer, I used a Mini Glue Dot in each corner, and pressed just hard enough for it to stay secured to the card. If you use light pressure, it’s very hard to see the glue dot through the vellum. The more you press, the more noticeable the glue dot will be!

To finish the card, I embellished with Basic Adhesive Backed Sequins and Seaside Spray 1/2″ Scalloped Linen Ribbon. I stamped the inside of the card, stamped the envelope to match, and my project was complete!

Please continue on to the next stop on our hop this month, Bonnie O’Neill’s page, to see what fun project she has created this month!

Thanks so much for visiting today! Enjoy your day!

It’s a Good Morning Magnolia Monday!

Today’s card is made with items from the NEW Magnolia Lane Suite! I just LOVE this entire suite! Between the gorgeous flowers, colors, and coordinating embellishments and accessories, it’s no wonder that this has been one of the top selling new product lines of the new catalog!

My card today features the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set, as well as the Stitched Nested Labels Dies. Here’s a close up of both:

Good Morning Magnolia Cling Stamp Set
Item #149298
$36.00
Stitched Nested Labels Dies
Item #149638
$35.00

The centerpiece of the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set is definitely the large magnolia stamp. This stamp fills almost a whole card front! For my card, I stamped the flower with VersaMark ink on Petal Pink card stock, then layered it with Mossy Meadow on a Very Vanilla card stock base.

The sentiment is stamped in Mossy Meadow ink to match the middle layer. Take a look at the detail that the Stitched Nested Labels Dies creates in the picture below. I just love the stitched look of these dies!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Very Vanilla card stock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Mossy Meadow middle layer: 4 x 5-1/4 inches

Petal Pink top layer: 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

Very Vanilla sentiment piece: 1-1/4 x 2-1/4 inches (approximate)

I hope you have enjoyed my project today! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Everything is Rosy Mini Note Cards

Earlier last week, I finally got a chance to play with my Everything is Rosy Product Medley! The colors and designs are so gorgeous. I just love the combinations that Stampin’ Up! has put together in this product!

I love mini note cards, and I always make them in sets of three. Each card measures 3 x 3 inches and fits perfectly in the Whisper White 3 x 3 Inch Envelopes available in the online store. I left the inside of each card blank so I could write a little note in each. I have already used the thank you one for our school nurse (it was School Nurse Appreciation Day on May 8th!)

One of the things I love most about this assortment of products is that it comes with Rose Gold Foil Sheets. There are also rose gold accents on the DSP, and there are four sheets of die cuts that are all accented with the rose gold. I think that little bit of extra shine adds such a nice touch to my projects! I tried to hold the card in the picture above so you could get a good look at the accents. You can see the rose gold along the edge of the sentiment piece, as well as in some of the flowers in the DSP background. I also cut some small leaves from the foil sheets to add behind the sentiment pieces, for a little extra detail and shine!

Once the cards were finished, I added some flowers and leaves to the envelopes in Melon Mambo and Night of Navy. Once the envelopes were stamped, the full project was complete!

Here is a list of everything that comes in the Everything is Rosy Product Medley:

~Everything Is Rosy Photopolymer Stamp Set (18 stamps)
~Everything Is Rosy Dies (10 dies)
~6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper Stack (48 sheets)
~6″ x 6″ rose gold foil paper (8 sheets)
~Printed die cuts (2 sheets)
~Rose gold die cuts (4 sheets)
~Rose gold adhesive backed mirror embellishments (60)
~Melon Mambo 1/4″ Ruched Ribbon (10 yards)
~Night of Navy/Rose Gold 3/8″ Metallic Edge Ribbon (10 yards
~Rose Gold Shimmer Paint (1/2 oz.)

Click HERE for more details about this great product!

The Everything is Rosy Product Medley is available until May 31st OR while supplies last, whichever comes first. Visit the online store HERE to order yours today!

Color Fusers Blog Hop for March 2019

Welcome to the Color Fusers Blog Hop for March! Today we are featuring projects made with the following colors: Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, and Smoky Slate!

I used three different stamp sets on this card: Love What You Do, Touches of Texture, and Kindness & Compassion. I also used the Stitched Rectangle Framelits, Whisper White 1/8 inch Sheer Ribbon, and Pearl Basic Jewels.

The steps to create this card are as follows:

  1. Cut the card base from Gorgeous Grape cardstock and fold in half.
  2. Cut the middle layer from Smoky Slate cardstock.
  3. Cut the top layer from Whisper White on the Big Shot using the Stitched Rectangle Framelits.
  4. Ink up the watercolor image stamp from Love What You Do with Highland Heather ink and stamp off the ink one time. Then stamp onto the Whisper White piece.
  5. Stamp the floral image from Touches of Texture in Smoky Slate ink.
  6. Stamp the sentiment from Kindness & Compassion in Smoky Slate ink.
  7. Watercolor the flowers with Gorgeous Grape ink using an Aqua Painter. Set aside to dry.
  8. Stamp the floral images from Love What You Do in the corners of the card base in Gorgeous Grape ink.
  9. When dry, adhere the Whisper White top layer to the Smoky Slate middle layer with Snail Adhesive. Then apply to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  10. Make a small bow from the 1/8 inch Whisper White Sheer Ribbon and adhere with a glue dot.
  11. Color some small pearls from the Pearls Basics Jewels with a Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends marker and apply to the card.
  12. Stamp your envelope to match (if desired).

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Gorgeous Grape cardstock card base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Smoky Slate cardstock middle layer: 3-1/2 x 4-7/8 inches

Whisper White top layer: 3-3/8 x 4-3/4 inches
