It’s Christmas in July with Stylish Christmas!

It’s Christmas in July!  🙂  One of the beautiful new Christmas sets in the annual catalog is called Stylish Christmas, and I just love the look of this set!  It has some very simple, yet bold images, as well as some beautiful sentiment stamps!  For this card, I combined the set with a new Christmas Designer Series Paper called Under the Mistletoe, as well as some silver embossing and rhinestones!

Here is a peek at the full stamp set:

For my card, I used the poinsettia stamp in Real Red, the swirl in Old Olive, and the Season’s Greetings in silver heat embossed powder.  Real Red and Old Olive is one of my favorite red/green Christmas color combos, and one I have often used in my holiday crafting!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Whisper White thick card stock base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Real Red middle layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

Whisper White top layer:  3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

DSP strip:  1-1/4 x 5-1/8 inches

Whisper White sentiment strip:  1 x 5-1/8 inches

Poinsettia:  2 x 2-5/8 inches (approximately)

Other products used on this card include Wink of Stella in the center of the flower, as well as a few rhinestones!

Even though it’s only July, it’s never too early to start thinking about holiday crafts!  There’s a great selection of Christmas and holiday items in the Annual Catalog, but the Holiday catalog is right around the corner as well!  Be on the lookout for information regarding the Holiday Catalog coming soon!

Stitched Seasons Meets Sunshine Wishes!

Today’s card features the upcoming Stitched Seasons Framelits dies, along with the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits and Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper!  The Stitched Seasons Framelits are part of the August 1st release of the Stitched Seasons products.  I recently wrote a post about this new bundle, with all the relevant info regarding release dates, products, and more!  If you missed it, you can read all about it HERE.

For today’s card, I made a wedding card with Powder Pink and White for the colors.  I used a pattern from the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper that looks almost like stone for the background, and accented it with Powder Pink shimmer ribbon, as well as some floral die cuts in both Powder Pink and vellum.

The sentiment is die cut from the new Sparkle Glimmer Paper and centered right in the middle of the card.  There is NO stamping on this card at all.  Everything is cut with the Stampin’ Trimmer and the Big Shot!  Here is a close up of the center portion of the card:

The Petal Promenade Paper is gorgeous!  Most patterns are made from photographs of real flowers, stone, etc. This paper is also part of the Buy 3 Get 1 FREE Sale this month!  Here’s the full array of designs in the Petal Promenade paper:

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Powder Pink card base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Designer Series Paper layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

Whisper White Stitched Seasons Die Cut Layer:  3 x 4 inches

Powder Pink floral vine die cut:  1 x 3-1/8 inches (approximately)

Vellum die cuts:  varies (range from 1 x 3 to 1 x 2 inches)

Sparkle “congrats” sentiment:  1 x 3-3/4 inches

This card is perfect for a wedding, and is so pretty and sparkly in person!  I hope you like it!

Thanks for checking in!

Tea Room Friendship Card

One of my favorite designer series papers in this year’s catalog is the Tea Room Specialty Designer Series Paper!  This paper has a great selection of beautiful patterns including flowers, bees, butterflies, and more.  And the colors are just gorgeous!  The pattern I used for today’s card is a mix of flowers, leaves, and butterflies, and is printed in shades of Crushed Curry.  I decided to pair the paper with Basic Gray, as I love the combination of yellow, gray, and white (though in this case, it’s Crushed Curry, Basic Gray, and Very Vanilla!)

The sentiment is from the Time for Tea photopolymer stamp set, and the scalloped layer behind the sentiment is from the Spot of Tea Framelits dies.  The paper, stamps, framelits, and the ribbon I used are all from the NEW Tea Room Suite!  The full suite of products can be found on pages 14-15 in the annual catalog, or you can view them HERE.

Besides the Tea Room ribbon, I embellished this card with some vellum leaves.  Some were cut with the Leaf Punch, and others were cut using a die from the Bouquet Bunch Framelits.  I also added some copper leaves from the Leaves Trinkets embellishments, as well as a couple of Share What You Love Artisan Pearls to finish it off!  Here’s a close up of the embellishments on and around the sentiment piece:

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Basic Gray card base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Crushed Curry middle layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

DSP top layer: 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

Basic Gray sentiment backing layer: 2-3/4 inches in diameter (approximately)

Very Vanilla sentiment piece:  2-1/4 inches in diameter

Vellum pieces for leaves: 1-3/4 x 2 inches (approximately)

You can find all of the products used on this card in the links below!

6 x 6 One Sheet Wonder Project with Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper

Have you ever heard of a One Sheet Wonder?  It’s when you use ONE sheet of patterned paper to make multiple, coordinating cards.  If you google “One Sheet Wonder” or enter it into Pinterest, many, MANY examples pop up!  Some are designed for 6 x 6 inch paper, some for 8 x 8, some for 12 x 12, and I’ve even seen some for 8-1/2 x 11 inch paper!  Some are super simple, while some are pretty intricate.  However, regardless of the size or level of detail, one sheet wonder projects are a great way to make a bunch of beautifully coordinated cards!

The template I chose to use for my project today uses one sheet of 6 x 6 inch designer series paper!  I found the template on Pinterest, and it linked to a blog post of a fellow papercrafter by the name of Kathy Roney.  The template I used is her original design.  Although I switched up the cards a bit to put my own spin on them, I did use her template, and I definitely want to give her credit for creating it!  If you would like to see her original template and the gorgeous cards she created with it, please click HERE.

For my cards, I decided to use a sheet of paper from the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper!  I started with a 6 x 6 inch sheet and then cut it up as shown below:

All of the colors I used for my cards coordinate with the colors in the paper.  The colors I used are:

All cards measure 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inches, and they all use a few common products (besides the DSP):
  • Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder
  • Pearl Basic Jewels
  • Whisper White 1/8″ Sheer Ribbon
  • Love What You Do stamp set

Here is a close up of each card individually:

This project was a lot of fun to complete, and a great one to try if you’ve never done a One Sheet Wonder project before!  The cutting and designs are pretty simple, and can easily be used for a variety of styles and layouts!  Here’s another look at all 6 completed cards together:

I hope you’ve enjoyed my post today!  If you have any questions about this project, please don’t hesitate to ask!

Dragonfly Dreams Meets Share What You Love

This gorgeous card was one of the cards I made on Saturday in Maine!  It was designed by my friend and fellow demonstrator, Sherri Everett!  She held a card buffet where you could go and make as many cards as you wanted, and it was so much fun!  It ended up taking me almost five hours to get there, so I didn’t have as much time as I would have liked, but I still got to make six full cards, and I took four kits home to make with supplies I have at home.  Sherri’s designs are really beautiful!  This was the first one that caught my eye, as green is my favorite color, and there are multiple shades of green on this card. Plus I LOVE dragonflies, so this was one I definitely needed to make!

This card features the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set, as well as the NEW Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper!  Layering Circles Framelits were used to cut the circle with the dragonfly, as well as the scalloped piece behind it.  It’s embellished with Burlap Ribbon, as well as some Linen Thread, and the sentiment piece was trimmed with Paper Snips, but the Triple Banner Punch could be used as well!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Thick Whisper White card stock base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 and folded in half)

Tranquil Tide middle layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

DSP top layer:  3-3/4 x 5 inches

Whisper White circle:  2-11/16 inches in diameter

Tranquil Tide scalloped circle:  2-13/16 inches in diameter

Burlap Ribbon piece:  3-1/2 inches

Old Olive banner/sentiment piece:  3 x 1/2 inches

One thing I really love about the Designer Series Paper that Sherri used for this card, is that some of the designs have beautiful, iridescent accents!  This design is one of them, and I tried to get some good pictures of the accents, but it’s hard to see.  All of the largest flowers on this design have the iridescent finish, and they are so pretty in person!  It adds such a nice touch to this card!

I have many more cards that I made on my trip, and I will share them with you hopefully over the next few weeks!

Thanks for visiting today!  Please let me know if you have any questions!

July Facebook Hop: Red, White, and Blue +3!

Hi!  If you are visiting from our team Facebook hop, WELCOME! I hope you enjoy your visit!  This month, our team created projects using the colors red, white, and blue, as well as three of any word or image.  For my project, I used the Wood Words stamp set to stamp three stars in Real Red on the white distressed look paper from the Wood Textures 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper.  I then used the Layering Squares Framelits to cut them out, and used a different die from the set to cut scalloped frames for them from Night of Navy card stock.

I used the Celebrate You Thinlits to cut the sentiment from Silver Foil Sheets, and also used silver stars from the NEW Twinkle Adhesive Backed Sequins to accent each star!  I was out of town when I assembled this card, and I had originally planned to mount the framed stars with Dimensionals to add a little extra detail, but I ran out of the house and forgot to pack them (oops)!  So this whole card was adhered with Snail Adhesive and Multipurpose glue instead.

Here’s a close up of the shine of the silver on the stars and the sentiment:

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Night of Navy card stock base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Real Red middle layer: 4 x 5-1/4 inches

White DSP layer:  3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

Night of Navy scalloped squares:  1-1/2 x 1-1/2 inches

White DSP squares with stars: 1-3/16 x 1-3/16

Silver Foil “Celebrate” sentiment:  1-1/8 x 3-5/8 inches (approximately)

I hope you’ve enjoyed your visit to my blog, and will check out the other projects created by my team for this month’s Facebook hop!  Everyone’s projects are truly unique, and there’s a lot of inspiration to see!

Thanks for stopping by!

Clean and Simple Thank You Cards

After almost two weeks of creating gifts and cards for school staff in two different schools, I still needed to make end of year thank you cards for Luca’s teachers.  I wanted something simple but colorful, so I pulled out my Abstract Impressions Bundle and Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper and made these!

While I decided to make the cards the same in terms of design, I didn’t want them to be exactly the same, so I decided to go with different colors for each teacher.  I borrowed the idea of cutting the butterfly from DSP from this month’s Artisan Design Team projects (see them HERE), and went with shades of pink for one teacher, and blues and yellows for the other!

On the above card, I used Melon Mambo for the middle layer and the sentiment.  On the other, I used Pacific Point cardstock for the middle layer and sentiment.  The sentiment is actually not from the Abstract Impressions bundle, but from the Petal Palette stamp set.  And both cards are embellished with Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Thick Whisper White cardstock base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 and folded in half)

Middle layer (Melon Mambo or Pacific Point): 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

Whisper White top layer:  3-3/4 x 5 inches

DSP Butterfly:  2-1/4 x 4 inches

Sometimes I like to keep it super simple, and I think these cards are just that! These could very easily be switched up for any occasion just by changing the sentiment.  They were also quick and easy to make, so if you need a card but don’t have a lot of time, or need to make a bunch, these would be a great choice!

Please feel free to contact me with any questions you have!  Thanks for visiting!
