Dreaming of Spring with Butterfly Beauty Thinlits

As I sit here and write this, it is 2 degrees outside. TWO degrees! It is SO cold!!! I don’t normally mind winter, but when it’s this cold, I get pretty cranky. I am very much looking forward to Spring and warmer temperatures! One thing that always reminds me of nice weather is buttterflies. I just LOVE butterflies, and any craft supply item that has them. So when I saw the NEW Butterfly Beauty Thinlits Dies, I knew I needed to add them to my collection! You can take a look at the full set below:

This set contains dies to make lots of different sized butterflies. The two largest dies actually layer together to make five connected butterflies. These two dies are actually the ones I used for today’s card. I cut the bottom piece from Powder Pink card stock, and the top layer from Sparkle Glimmer Paper. I then adhered them together with Multipurpose Glue, and then trimmed off the four smaller butterflies so I was left with just one, large one. (I did save the other four, and plan to make other projects with them, which you will probably see very soon!)

The colors I chose for this card are Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Powder Pink, and Whisper White.

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Berry Burst card stock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Lemon Lime Twist middle layer: 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

2017-2019 In Color DSP top layer: 3-3/4 x 5 inches

Sparkle Glimmer Paper/Powder Pink Butterfly piece: 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inches*

Whisper White sentiment piece: 2-1/4 x 1-3/8 inches

*When trimmed, the single large butterfly is about 2-3/4 x 3-3/4 inches

You can find the thinlits and stamp set, as well as the cute flower sequins in the new Occasions Catalog. Everything else is in the Annual one. A complete supply list can be found below!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope wherever you are, it’s warmer than here! 🙂

A Bold Butterfly Birthday and the LAST DAY to order from the Holiday Catalog

Today’s card features one of the FREE Sale-a-Bration items from this year’s Sale-a-Bration brochure! The Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-Bration brochure for 2019 both go live TOMORROW, so I wanted to share a couple of new products from them in today’s post!

The butterfly background paper on this card is from the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper. This paper is a full sized package of twelve, 12 x 12 inch double sided sheets, and can be earned as a FREE item with a $50 purchase (before tax and shipping) between January 3rd and March 31st! Like all regular DSPs, there are six double sided designs in the paper. It is absolutely gorgeous! Notice that half the prints are black and white and the other half are a mix of colors! Check it out:

For my card today, I paired one of the black and white designs with Petal Pink. I love how the black and white contrasts with the softness of the pink! I also used Shimmery White Cardstock for the middle layer, as well as the NEW Petal Pink/Whisper White 5/8″ Variegated Ribbon. The Happy Birthday die cut was cut using the Big Shot, and I went over the whole sentiment with a very light layer of Clear Wink of Stella.

I tried to get a close up of the shimmer from the Wink of Stella, but I’m not sure how well you can see it in the picture above. But it’s really subtle and pretty in person!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Petal Pink cardstock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Shimmery White cardstock middle layer: 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

DSP top layer: 3-3/4 x 5 inches

Petal Pink piece for the sentiment die cut: 3-1/2 x 3-1/4 inches

The card was embellished with the ribbon and a few rhinestones, and it was done! Hope you like it!

Also, don’t forget that TODAY is the LAST DAY to order from the Holiday Catalog!

Although I’m sad to see some of my favorite products retiring, I am excited about what’s coming in the new catalogs! Be sure to visit the online store to get your favorite retiring holiday products before it’s too late!

If you have any questions about today’s project or the catalogs, please let me know! Thanks for stopping by!

Another Sweet Treat for the Holidays

These little boxes are one of my favorite items to make treats for any holiday!  The boxes are the perfect size to use for favors, place holders at holiday dinner tables, and small gifts for teachers and staff at your local school!

They are so easy to use and can be filled with your choice of so many different things!

These are super easy to make:

  1. Assemble the box according to package directions.
  2. Fill with your choice of candy or other small gift.
  3. Close up the box and wrap a 1 x 9 inch strip of DSP of your choice around the entire box and secure with strong adhesive.  (For mine, I used Tear & Tape Adhesive).
  4. Make a tag for the top, add a sentiment, a bow, and a star embellishment, and you’re good to go!

For these, I used Hershey’s Miniature candy bars.  Ten of them fit in the boxes perfectly!  I also used mini metallic bows that were purchased at WalMart.  I added the little tag and they were done!

The Tiny Treat Boxes are available in a pack of 16 for $7.50 and are a super versatile item to have on hand when you want to make a quick gift for someone!

It’s Merry Monday! Time for a Sweet Treat!

I have not posted in awhile due to the fact that every spare moment of my time for the last 4-5 days has been spent on Christmas Bazaar stuff!  Planning an event is a lot more work than I thought, but I would do it again in a heartbeat!  I work part time at the school in the town where I live, and the bazaar was a fundraiser for our PTO.  Since I have craft show experience, I volunteered to organize it.  We had 31 vendors, plus raffle baskets, food, kids’ crafts, and a lot more!  We ended up raising almost $3000 for the PTO, and that money will all go toward supplies, field trips, and equipment for students, so I would say the event was a success!

This week I will be sharing some of the completed items I had available at my table at the bazaar.  My first project is a mini coffee cup covered with DSP and filled with Hershey Kisses!  Not all of the supplies I used were 100% Stampin’ Up!, but the majority are!  On this project, only the coffee cups and cello bags are not Stampin’ Up! products.  Both items are from Amazon, and I will post links to them at the end of the post.

For the cup shown, I used the Under the Mistletoe DSP to wrap around the cup.  I found a cutting die that cuts the perfect sized piece to wrap these cups with.  It definitely makes things easier!  The die is also a non-SU product, and I will post the link for that as well below.  I love the mix of greens in this paper, and how it’s accented with white and just a hint of red for a pop of extra color!

For the top of the cup, I used a 2 inch circle punch to cut a piece of Real Red card stock, then layered it with a piece of Shimmery White cardstock cut with the Layering Circles Framelits Dies.  I topped it with a Snowflake Trinket from the now retired Snowflake Showcase Suite.  The cup holds 15 Hershey Kisses.  The ones I used are really cute.  They look like little Santa hats:

Once the cup was decorated and wrapped, I wrapped it in a 4 x 9 Cellophane Bag, added the tag, and tied it with Real Red Mixed Satin Ribbon.  The sentiment is from the Candy Cane Season photopolymer stamp set, and the tag was cut with a die from the Petals & More Thinlits Dies.

These little cups were a big hit at the bazaar!  This would make a great gift for teachers, mail workers, coworkers, or even as stocking stuffers!

Here are the links for the non-SU products:

You can find the cups HERE.

You can find the cello bags HERE.

You can find the dies for the cup wrapper HERE.  (The cups can also be purchased here as well!)

I hope to be back to posting regularly again this week!  Thanks for stopping by today!

A Spooky Treat for Luca’s Bus Driver

At the end of the last school year, I made these cute treats for the bus drivers at my son’s school.  Each one has five Hershey Nuggets, each wrapped in a cute school bus wrapper that I purchased and downloaded on Etsy.  He now goes to a different school, and I wanted to make a little something for his bus driver.  So I whipped up another one of these just for her, (and since he goes to a different school this year, it’s not something she already got in June!)  🙂

For this version, I used items from the holiday catalog, including the Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper, the Spooky Sweets stamp set, and the Spooky Bats Punch!  Colors are Lemon Lime Twist, Basic Black, Crushed Curry, Gorgeous Grape, Real Red, and Whisper White.

Measurements for this project are as follows:

Basic Black topper base:  2-1/4 x 5 inches (scored at 2-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Toil & Trouble DSP layer:  2 x 2 inches

Whisper White sentiment piece:  1-3/8 inches

Whisper White piece for moon and bats (cut from same piece):  4 x 4 inches

Real Red tray for nuggets:  2 x 5 inches (scored lengthwise at 1/4 inch and 1-3/4 inches)

I hope Miss Lisa likes it!  This is a great little gift that can be made for anyone, for pretty much any occasion, just by switching up the sentiment and DSP!  It would also make a great favor for parties, showers, and more!

Thanks for visiting today!  Have a safe and Happy Halloween!

Snowflake Showcase Meets Frosted Floral Designer Series Paper

My card today combines the soft, shimmery Frosted Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper with the NEW Snowflake Showcase product line, available November 1st!  The main image on this card is a large, detailed snowflake that has been spritzed with White Shimmer Paint mixed with water so that it also has a shimmery finish to match the background paper.  The Peace & Joy sentiment comes from the Christmas Traditions Punch Box, and is hand colored with Stampin’ Write markers in Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow.

If you love snowflakes, then you are going to LOVE the Snowflake Showcase products!  Here is a picture of the cutting die set! There are multiple snowflake dies in different shapes and sizes, and can be used alone or with the coordinating stamp set that will also be available November 1st:

There are also some leaves, twigs, and more!  This is truly a very versatile set to add to your collection!

It’s a Merry Monday with the Detailed Deer Thinlits and Stylish Christmas Stamp Set

My card today features a simple design created with the Detailed Deer Thinlits, Stylish Christmas stamp set, and Wood Textures Designer Series Paper!

This card was quick and easy to create!  I cut the Thick Whisper White card stock base, then the middle layer from Cherry Cobbler card stock, and the top layer from regular Whisper White (measurements for each can be found below).  I then ran the top layer through the Big Shot with the large flying deer die.  After the deer was cut out, I adhered a piece of the Wood Textures DSP to the back of the top layer with SNAIL adhesive, so that it showed through the top.  I then stamped the sentiment in Old Olive ink, and adhered the top layer to the middle Cherry Cobbler layer with SNAIL.  I then adhered those to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added the Old Olive Sheer Ribbon bow and a couple of stars from the Twinkle Adhesive Backed Sequins and the card was complete!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Thick Whisper White card stock base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Cherry Cobbler middle layer:  3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

Whisper White top layer:  3-3/4 x 5 inches

Wood Textures DSP layer:  3 x 3-3/4 inches

Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, and Whisper White has always been my go to red, green, and white color combo for Christmas.  I really love the way they look together.  I also love the simple design of this card, and I hope you do too!  Sometimes less is more!

Thanks for stopping by!
