Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper and Abstract Impressions Card

My project today was inspired by my upline, Stella MacKay!  She sent me a gorgeous thank you card made with very similar colors and products, and I just love it!  For my version, I used the Garden Impressions 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper as the background, along with the Abstract Impressions stamp set for the sentiment!  I love the color combination of this card!  The main colors are So Saffron, Night of Navy, and Whisper White. The color combo of the full Garden Impressions DSP is as follows:

I just love the bold brights and regals used in this paper!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

So Saffron cardstock card base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Night of Navy middle layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

So Saffron layer:  3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

Garden Impressions DSP top layer:  3-3/4 x 5 inches

So Saffron scalloped piece:  2-9/16 in diameter

Whisper White sentiment piece:  2-3/8 inches

Night of Navy Stiched heart:  1/2 x 1/2 inch

I also used various embellishments to finish off this card.  Some are brand new and others are returning favorites!  To see the compete list of products used on this project, please see below!

Quick and Easy In Color Cards

Recently, I needed to make a bunch of cards I could send as customer thank yous, as well as for customers who won prizes in their new catalogs.  So I needed something quick and easy!  I came up with these, using all new products from the new Annual Catalog!  Each card is virtually identical to the next, with the exception of the color.  I used the new In Colors and made a few of each color.  They were perfect for what I needed, and I was able to make a bunch in a very short amount of time!

Lovely Lipstick

Pineapple Punch

Call Me Clover

Blueberry Bushel

Products used on these cards include:

  • 2018-2020 In Color Cardstock and Ink Pads

  • 2018-2020 In Color 1/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon
  • Stitched Label Framelits

Measurements for these cards are as follows:

In Color cardstock bases: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Whisper White middle layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

In Color DSP layer: 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

Whisper White sentiment piece:  3-3/8 x 2-3/4 inches

An Animal Outing Birthday

I received the new Animal Outing stamp set last month at OnStage, but haven’t had a chance to use it until this weekend!  I wasn’t sure what I wanted to make with it, but I got the idea to make this card when I was looking through my punches and saw the Balloon Bouquet one.  I thought of using the new In Colors for the balloons, and wanted to have an animal holding them.  My first thought was to use either a cat from the Pretty Kitty set, or a dog from the Bella & Friends set, but then I remembered that I had the Animal Outing set, and thought it was time to finally pull it out and use it!

I just love this new set!  It contains 10 stamps, with a nice combination of images and sentiments.  Here’s what the full set looks like:

To make this card, I stamped the kangaroo in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored the kangaroo with both light and dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends Markers.  I also colored the koala in her pouch with the light and dark Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends.  I punched the balloons from the new 2018-2020 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack, then adhered them to the panel with Snail adhesive.  I used a Black Stampin’ Write marker to draw the strings.

I then used two stamps from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set for the sentiments.  I stamped the “Hip Hip Hooray” on the front, and then the “It’s Your Day” stamp on the inside.  I stamped both in the same Memento ink as the kangaroo:

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Basic Black cardstock base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Whisper White top layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches (you also need another one of these for the inside of the card!)

DSP pieces: 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 inches each

The Animal Outing set will be available on June 1st!  Do you have your new catalog yet?  If not, contact me and I will be happy to send one to you!

Thank you for visiting today!  Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Share What You Love Suite OnStage Make and Take

Today’s project is one of the make and take projects we made at last month’s OnStage event!  This card uses multiple products from the NEW Share What You Love Suite, which is now available as an early release from Stampin’ Up!  All of the products used on this card can be ordered NOW instead of waiting until June 1st, when the rest of the new catalog becomes available for ordering!  This card was my favorite of the four projects we created at OnStage!

The base of this card is the returning Mint Macaron! I am so excited that this color has returned as a core color!  It is one of my all time favorites, and I am thrilled that it is back!  This color, combined with the rest of the colors in the suite, makes for some stunning color combinations!

This card utilizes many of the products in the new suite including the following:

  • Love What You Do stamp set
  • Share What You Love Artisan Pearls
  • Rich Razzleberry 1/4″ Velvet Ribbon
  • Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper
  • Pearlized Doilies

It also features Mint Macaron card stock, vellum card stock, and Memento Black Ink.  Also, the corners of the sentiment piece were cut with a 1/2 inch circle punch to make the inverted rounded corners.

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Mint Macaron Card stock Base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Vellum layer:  3-1/4 x 4-1/4 inches

DSP layer:  3 x 4 inches

Raspberry Velvet Ribbon:  4-1/4 inches

Whisper White sentiment piece:  1-3/8 x 2-5/8 inches

DSP strip behind ribbon and sentiment:  3-9/16 x 3/4 inches

Most of the products used on this card are now available to order as part of the Share What You Love Suite!  These products are available in exclusive bundles, now through May 31st!  You can browse the early release items in the online store HERE.

Teacher Appreciation Day Cards

Yesterday, I shared the gifts I made for my son Max’s preschool teachers.  Today, I am sharing the cards I made for my other son Luca’s Kindergarten teachers!  For the two of them, I decided to keep it simple, and gave them each a gift card to Target.  But I wanted something pretty to put them in!  These cards were so easy to make (quick too!) and the NEW Garden Impressions 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper is so gorgeous, there’s not much need to add a lot extra!

This beautiful new paper will be available on June 1st! It contains 12 different double sided designs, and includes 4 sheets of each, for a total of 48 sheets.  This paper is part of a new suite of products called the Garden Impressions suite, which can be found on pages 128-130 of the new catalog.  Here’s a peek at the full array of designs in the paper:

The measurements for these cards are as follows:

Thick Whisper White cardstock base:  (5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 and folded in half)

Garden Impressions DSP layers:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

Whisper White Sentiment piece:  3 x 3 inches

Powder Pink Butterfly piece: 2 x 2 inches

Other items used on these cards include Silver Baker’s Twine, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, and the Stitched Shapes Framelits!

Would you like a copy of the new catalog?  If you do not already have a demonstrator, please feel free to contact me and I will add you to my list!

It’s Teacher Appreciation Week!

So this week in the US is Teacher Appreciation Week!  Since I am a former teacher myself, I have a special place in my heart for the events of this week.  I have two young boys, one in preschool and one in kindergarten.  So for this week, I wanted to make something special for the teachers and staff at each of their schools!

The gifts shown in the pic above were made for my little guy Max’s teachers at his preschool.  He goes to a small, private, rural preschool, and there are four teachers there.  I made them each a Mini Pizza box filled with 10 gold foil wrapped chocolate hearts, and a note that reads “You have a heart of gold, thank you for all you do.”  I decorated each the same, with a 3 x 10 inch strip of the NEW Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper, just in a different design. There is a LOT of green in this paper, and green is my favorite color, so I really, really love this paper!  On these, I used Goil Foil Paper for the heart, and cut them with a die from the retiring Mini Treat Bag Thinlits dies set.  I also wrapped a piece of Silver 3/8″ Metallic-Edge Ribbon around each box.  Here’s a peek at the DSP designs:

And some close ups of the boxes themselves:

For my older son’s school, I had to make 95 gifts!  So it was not practical to make the gifts as shown above!  So for his school, what I did instead was place three of the chocolate hearts into a small cello bag, placed the same scalloped square note in the bag, and tied it closed with a ribbon:

These were much easier to make since I had to make so many!  I then placed them all in a large basket with a sign next to it saying they were for Teacher Appreciation Week and placed them on the table in the main office of the school for everyone to take one as they walked by!  For these, I used Gold Glimmer Paper for the hearts, as well as various colored ribbons to try to use up some of my stash of ribbon!

I got the idea for these from Pinterest (of course).  Why not make a simple gift for the teachers in your life?  It doesn’t take long, and I am sure it would be very much appreciated!

Feel free to contact me with questions!  Enjoy your day!

You are Wonderful Card Made with the NEW Rooted in Nature Bundle

This card is based on one of the Make and Take projects I made at OnStage last month!  I actually did not get to finish the one we were making that day, so I took the pieces with me to finish at home.  Then I decided to mix it up a bit when new goodies from the new catalog arrived!  This card uses a new bundle called the Rooted in Nature Bundle, as well as coordinating Designer Series Paper called Nature’s Poem DSP.  Both items are part of a new suite of products called the Nature’s Poem Suite.  This whole suite has imagery and colors of trees, leaves, and other images of nature.  It’s definitely one of my favorite new suites!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Sahara Sand card base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

DSP Background Strips:  1-1/4 x 5-1/4 inches

Whisper White sentiment piece:  1-1/8 x 3 inches

Mint Macaron/Grapefruit Grove Leaves:  1-1/2 x 3 inches

Banner DSP piece:  3/4 x 2 inches

For this card, I used Snail Adhesive to adhere the background strips and leaves to the card base.  The sentiment and banner piece were adhered using Stampin’ Dimensionals, to give this card a little height and texture!  It’s embellished with a button from the True Gentleman Buttons, as well as a Linen Thread bow.

Be sure to check out the entire Nature’s Poem Suite in the new catalog when you receive it!  (It can be found on pages 142-144.  This is sure to be a very popular collection of products!

Quick and Easy Punch Art Caterpillar Birthday Card

Today’s card was based on a card I found on Pinterest.  I thought it was super cute, so I wanted to make one of my own!

This card was super easy to make.  It’s just seven 1 inch circles of Designer Series Paper (punched with the 1 inch Circle Punch) put together to form a caterpillar.  The eyes and antennae are made with circles from the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch.  I also added a bow tie from the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch as well!

The Designer Series Paper I used are the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack and the Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Colors on this card are Dapper Denim, Lemon Lime Twist, and Tranquil Tide.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Better Together stamp set and is stamped in Dapper Denim ink!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Dapper Denim card base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Whisper White top layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

Designer Series Paper circles:  1 inch

Designer Series Paper antennae tops: 1/4 inch

Don’t forget, retiring products are available only while supplies last, and many products on this card are retiring!  Please visit the online store to shop for retiring products before they’re gone for good!

My Final OnStage Display Board Project!

My final display board project is actually very similar to the very first project I shared using items from the new Annual Catalog!  If you remember, I made a mini pizza box using the Love What You Do stamp set.  I even used most of the same colors as on this card!  Here’s a pic of the project I am referring to if you’d like to take a look:

Both projects use many of the same products, including the Love What You Do stamp set, the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper, the Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends, and the Tea Room ribbon!  However, on today’s project, the sentiment is not heat embossed, but rather stamped in Soft Suede ink, and framed by an outline stamp and framelit from the Rose Wonder stamp set and Rose Garden Thinlits Dies (which are retiring May 31st.)  The ribbon is also tied in a bow for the card!

I really love the color palette for this card!  The colors that were used are as follows:

And of course, Very Vanilla is used as the base neutral in this project as well (even though it’s not shown above!)

The measurements for this card are as follows:
Crumb Cake card base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)
Very Vanilla middle layer:  3-3/4 x 5 inches
Wood Textures DSP top layer:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8 inches
Very Vanilla Stitched Shapes Circle:  3-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches
Very Vanilla sentiment piece:  2 x 3 inches

This card was embellished with the NEW Tea Room Ribbon Combo Pack, as well as a few Pearl Basic Jewels that have been colored with an Ivory Stampin’ Blends Marker.  The ribbon will be available June 1st and comes in pack of two colors: Very Vanilla and Coastal Cabana.  The ribbon is 1/8 inch wide, and has beautiful Copper edging, which you can see nicely in the picture directly above!

So that’s it for my OnStage Display Board samples.  I hope you have enjoyed what I have created!  Don’t forget, the Love What You Do stamp set is available NOW to order as part of the Share What You Love Early Release, now through May 31st!  Click HERE to go to the early release section of the online store!

If you have any questions regarding this, or any other project I’ve shared, please feel free to ask!  🙂
