A Spooky Treat for Luca’s Bus Driver

At the end of the last school year, I made these cute treats for the bus drivers at my son’s school.  Each one has five Hershey Nuggets, each wrapped in a cute school bus wrapper that I purchased and downloaded on Etsy.  He now goes to a different school, and I wanted to make a little something for his bus driver.  So I whipped up another one of these just for her, (and since he goes to a different school this year, it’s not something she already got in June!)  🙂

For this version, I used items from the holiday catalog, including the Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper, the Spooky Sweets stamp set, and the Spooky Bats Punch!  Colors are Lemon Lime Twist, Basic Black, Crushed Curry, Gorgeous Grape, Real Red, and Whisper White.

Measurements for this project are as follows:

Basic Black topper base:  2-1/4 x 5 inches (scored at 2-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Toil & Trouble DSP layer:  2 x 2 inches

Whisper White sentiment piece:  1-3/8 inches

Whisper White piece for moon and bats (cut from same piece):  4 x 4 inches

Real Red tray for nuggets:  2 x 5 inches (scored lengthwise at 1/4 inch and 1-3/4 inches)

I hope Miss Lisa likes it!  This is a great little gift that can be made for anyone, for pretty much any occasion, just by switching up the sentiment and DSP!  It would also make a great favor for parties, showers, and more!

Thanks for visiting today!  Have a safe and Happy Halloween!

It’s a Merry Monday with the Detailed Deer Thinlits and Stylish Christmas Stamp Set

My card today features a simple design created with the Detailed Deer Thinlits, Stylish Christmas stamp set, and Wood Textures Designer Series Paper!

This card was quick and easy to create!  I cut the Thick Whisper White card stock base, then the middle layer from Cherry Cobbler card stock, and the top layer from regular Whisper White (measurements for each can be found below).  I then ran the top layer through the Big Shot with the large flying deer die.  After the deer was cut out, I adhered a piece of the Wood Textures DSP to the back of the top layer with SNAIL adhesive, so that it showed through the top.  I then stamped the sentiment in Old Olive ink, and adhered the top layer to the middle Cherry Cobbler layer with SNAIL.  I then adhered those to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added the Old Olive Sheer Ribbon bow and a couple of stars from the Twinkle Adhesive Backed Sequins and the card was complete!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Thick Whisper White card stock base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Cherry Cobbler middle layer:  3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

Whisper White top layer:  3-3/4 x 5 inches

Wood Textures DSP layer:  3 x 3-3/4 inches

Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, and Whisper White has always been my go to red, green, and white color combo for Christmas.  I really love the way they look together.  I also love the simple design of this card, and I hope you do too!  Sometimes less is more!

Thanks for stopping by!

It’s a Birthday Card for Merry Monday!

My mom’s birthday was yesterday and she LOVES cardinals!  So it only made sense that I would make her a card with a cardinal on it.  And while I realize this card is definitely NOT a Christmas card, I think it could very easily be changed to make it one!  Just add a few green sprigs, some red pearls or rhinestones, and switch out the greeting and DSP, and it would make a great Christmas card instead!  (And I plan to do just that very soon!)

For this card, I used the Best Birds stamp set, along with the coordinating Birds & Blooms Thinlits.  I used DSP from the Regals 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper for the background, as well as Real Red cardstock for the bird.  As the cutting dies do not actually cut the proper shape for a cardinal, I had to add a small piece that I cut with Paper Snips to make the crest on the top of the bird’s head.  The branch and flowers were stamped in Memento black ink and colored with Soft Suede, Old Olive, and Real Red Stampin’ Blends.

The Happy Birthday sentiment comes from the same stamp set, which has a number of stamps for different occasions, including birthdays, congratulations, anniversaries, and more!  This is definitely a great set to have in your collection, especially if you have bird lovers in your life!  Here’s a peek at the full set as well as the thinlits:

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Thick Whisper White card base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Polka Dot DSP background layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

Whisper White stitched circle:  2-15/16 inches in diameter

Real Red bird:  2-1/2 x 2-1/2 inches

Whisper White scrap used for branch and flowers: approximately a 2 x 4-1/2 inch piece

Other products used on this card include the punch from the Darling Label Punch Box, Linen Thread, and Pearl Basic Jewels.

I cannot WAIT to redo this card for Christmas!  Stay tuned for the updated version coming very soon!

If you have any questions about my card today, please feel free to ask.  Thanks for checking in!  🙂

A Spooky Treat Made with the Toil and Trouble Suite

My project today uses multiple products from the Toil & Trouble Suite!  This Halloween themed suite contains lots of great products, including stamps, Designer Series Paper, embellishments, and more!  I also used a couple of other Halloween products that are not technically part of the suite, but still work great with it!

Last year, I found that TEN Hershey’s Miniature chocolate bars fit perfectly in our Clear Tiny Treat Boxes!  I had found some specially wrapped Halloween ones last year that were super cute, and although I looked at a number of stores this year, I haven’t been able to find them!  So my options were: either cover each piece with DSP, or wrap the box somehow to make it look nice!  I opted for choice 2.  So I took a piece of the Cauldron Bubble DSP and cut a 1-7/8 inch x 8 inch piece, then scored it every 1-15/16 of an inch.  I then folded it and made a square, added some adhesive to the remaining 1/4 inch or so, adhered it together so it would stay put, and slipped it into the inside of the box before filling it with the candy.  The assembled box measures 2 x 2 x 2 inches, so you definitely want to make your cuts and score lines just slightly smaller so that the paper fits in without being too snug!

Once the candy was in, I closed the box, wrapped it with Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon, added the tag and some Silver Mini Sequin Trim, then tied the ribbon in a bow.  My tag was made using the Labels to Love stamp set, Spooky Sweets Bundle, the Twinkle Builder Punch, and Twinkle Adhesive Backed Sequins.  Colors are Pumpkin Pie, Basic Gray, Crushed Curry, and Gorgeous Grape!

Measurements for this project are as follows:

Toil & Trouble DSP strip:  1-7/8 x 8 inches (scored every 1-15/16 inch)

Whisper White piece: 4-1/4 inches x 5-1/2 inches  (From this one piece, I was able to stamp everything I used on my tag.  That includes the tag itself, the bat, and the moon!)

Glittered Organdy Ribbon: about 24 inches (approximately)

Here’s a peek at how the candy is arranged inside the box (looking through the bottom of the box!)  I stood them on their ends to make sure they’re in there nice and neat!

I am really happy with how this little treat box came out!  The Tiny Treat Boxes are so versatile, and are the perfect size for many small gifts, including favors for showers, weddings, and other parties!  Just switch up the DSP and what you fill it with, and you’re good to go for almost any occasion!  🙂

Thanks so much for visiting today!  If you have any questions, please let me know!

My First Snowflake Showcase Project!

A few days ago, I mentioned a new product line called the Snowflake Showcase.  It is a limited time only line that will be available beginning November 1st.  The new line includes two stamp sets, a set of cutting dies, velvet paper,  and some gorgeous snowflake embellishments!  For my card today, I used two of the new products: the Snow is Glistening stamp set and the Snowfall Thinlits.  Here’s a peek at both:

For my card, I used the long die all the way to the right in the picture.  I cut two pieces from the Frosted Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper, and glued them to the top layer, which is Shimmery White cardstock.  I then cut two banners from Mint Macaron and Soft Sea Foam cardstock, and stamped the lighter one in VersaMark using a stamp from the stamp set shown above.  The sentiment is from the Merry Christmas to All stamp set and is heat embossed in Silver. I then cut out the sentiment piece using the Layering Circles Framelits and the Big Shot.

The card is finished with a piece of Silver 3/8 inch Metallic Edge Ribbon, as well as a few rhinestones.  There is a lot of shimmer and shine on this card!  🙂

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Mint Macaron cardstock base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Soft Sea Foam middle layer:  3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

Shimmery White top layer:  3-3/4 x 5 inches

Mint Macaron banner:  1 x 4-1/4 inches

Soft Sea Foam banner:  1-1/4 x 4 inches

Shimmery White scalloped sentiment piece:  3-1/8 inches in diameter (approximate)

The Snowflake Showcase products will be available November 1st, and will be available until November 30th or while supplies last (whichever comes first!)  Please check back for more samples throughout the month using these great new products!

Thanks for checking in!

A Shimmery Merry Christmas Card for Merry Monday!

My project today is a shimmery Merry Christmas card made with the Merry Christmas to All Bundle and the Frosted Floral Specialty Designer Paper!  I made it for a team challenge that my upline posted on our team Facebook page, but it was perfect for my blog post today as well!  Most of what is used on this card has a bit of shimmer to it.  The Shimmery White cardstock base, the green DSP strip, the ribbon, and even the embellishments all have a shimmery coating to them!  It’s SO pretty in person!

The background of this card is embossed with the Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I also used the Stitched Shapes Framelits, as well as the Leaf and Sprig Punches, and dies from the Pretty Pine Thinlits for the accent leaves on the sides.  Besides the Shimmery White cardstock, I also used Merry Merlot, Mossy Meadow, and Vellum cardstock on this card as well. The card is finished with a few Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets, as well as some Merry Merlot & Copper Reversible Ribbon.  Take a peek at the pic below to try to get a glimpse of the shimmer (it’s hard to get a good pic of it!):

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Shimmery White cardstock base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Shimmery White top layer (embossed):  4 x 5-1/4 inches

Frosted Floral DSP strip:  2-1/4 x 5 inches

Shimmery White stitched circle:  2-15/16 in diameter

Merry Merlot “Merry” sentiment:  1-1/2 x 3-3/4 inches (approximate)

Leaves: various sizes (approximately 1-1/2 x 2 inches for each color

I am so pleased with how this card turned out!  I really love the colors!  The Merry Merlot and Mossy Meadow are such a gorgeous red/green combination for the holidays, especially when combined with the Shimmery White.  And would you have believed a year ago that we would have colors such as these as part of the Neutrals palette?  I wouldn’t, but I have to say, I just love the pop of color they add to the palette!

I hope you have enjoyed my project today.  Please let me know if you have questions.  Thank you for visiting!

It’s Merry Monday with the Feather & Frost Stamp Set!

It’s time for another Merry Monday project!  This week’s project features the new Feather & Frost stamp set, as well as the Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper.  This card would be a perfect card for beginning stampers, as the layout is simple and easy to recreate, OR would be perfect if you need something quick and easy for the holidays!

The Feather & Frost stamp set is a photopolymer set that includes 13 stamps.  The image stamps in this set are perfect for coloring:

For my card, I stamped the leaves and berries in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  Once dry, I colored them with Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blends, as well as my Merry Merlot Stampin’ Write Marker, and cut them out using the Layering Squares Framelits.   I stamped the Joy sentiment in Tranquil Tide ink, then punched it out with the 1-3/8 inch scalloped circle punch and adhered it to the main image.

The card was layered with the DSP background layer and a strip of Tranquil Tide cardstock, and then was wrapped four times with Linen Thread before adhering to the base.  The colored, scalloped square piece was adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals, ot give it a little detail and height. It was finished off with Tranquil Tide pearls from the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls embellishments!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Tranquil Tide card stock base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Sahara Sand middle layer:  3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

Joyous Noel DSP top layer:  3-3/4 x 5 inches

Whisper White scalloped square piece:  3 x 3 inches

Tranquil Tide strip behind square:  1-1/4 x 3-3/4 inches

Thank you for visiting today!  I hope you have a great day!
