3D Thursday: Poinsettia Dies Wreath

Today, we have Guest Designer Mary Knabe joining us for 3D Thursday, and she has created this simply stunning wreath using products from the Poinsettia Place Suite!

Isn’t her project beautiful? The green ribbon is from the Wonder of the Season Ribbon Combo Pack. (The gold piece for the hanger is also from that same item.) She used Red and Gold Foil to make the flowers, using cutting dies from the Poinsettia Dies set. I just love how shiny the flowers are! Her sentiment is heat embossed in gold, and is from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set. She finished the wreath by embellishing each flower with Beaded Pearls! So, so pretty!

Mary’s finsihed wreath measures 10 inches in diameter. She used a plain 10 inch styrofoam wreath base, which can be purchased at any craft store or the dollar store!

If you like Mary’s project and would like to make your own, you can download her free project sheet HERE. Or click the image below to download!

3D Thursday: 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper Gift Bag

Happy Thursday! Today we have Designer Twila Davis sharing her adorable 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper Gift Bag! Making your own gift bags is a great way to perfectly coordinate your gift giving this year. Use the same paper for your cards, tags, and bags!

For her project, Twila used the ‘Tis the Season 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper. The finished bag measures 4 x 3 x 1-1/2 inches wide, so the bag is small, but is perfect for giving small treats, gifts, or ornaments to friends and family. You can change the theme of the bag to fit any occasion, just by switching up the paper!

3D Thursday Blog Hop: Mini Paper Pumpkin Boxes

This week for 3D Thursday, we are switching things up a bit! Instead of featuring only one project, we are doing a blog hop with all FOUR of the 3D Thursday designers! To see all of our projects, just “hop” from one blog to the next using the “next” button at the bottom of each designer’s post. All of our projects today will feature the Mini Paper Pumpkin Boxes!

For my project, I used the Mini Paper Pumpkin boxes to create gift packaging for essential oils. I have a good friend who is the essential oil QUEEN! She uses them all the time, and she is also an avid crafter. She (normally) does a lot of craft fairs and vendor shows, and often makes cute packaging for her oils, as well as for the products she makes with them. So this project is inspired by her!

These boxes are the perfect size to fit six 5 ml bottles of oils OR five 15 ml bottles. (I used Young Living oils for my project, but other brands may be different in size.) I chose six of my favorites, and plan to give a few of these as Christmas gifts this year. The bottles are small, so when they are lined up in the box, there is some empty space near the top. To fill that space, I printed out a description of each oil and some of its uses, then trimmed the paper to the width of the box. I then rolled it up and tied it with some ribbon and a small gift tag. It fits perfectly in that unused space, and is a nice way to finish this project!

To decorate the outside of the box, I used wood grain print paper from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper. (I also lined the inside of the box with the same paper. ) I created the wreath using the Wreath Builder Dies, and used paper from the Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper behind it. The “Peace” sentiment was made with the Joy Dies.

Here’s a quick list of step-by-step instructions for this project:

  1. Cut two 3-1/2 x 5-1/4 inch pieces of woodgrain paper from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper. Adhere one to the top of the box and one on the bottom of the inside of the box.
  2. Cut a 2 x 5-1/4 inch strip of Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper and adhere across the top of the box.
  3. Cut the wreath pieces using the Wreath Builder Dies and Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine. (I used Pear Pizzazz for the bottom layer of my wreath and Garden Green for the top.) Cut the bow pieces from Real Red cardstock.
  4. Adhere the wreath and bow using Mini Glue Dots. Add a Gold Hoop Embellishment to the inside of the wreath, and some Wonderful Gems around the wreath as well. Add a small Linen Thread bow.
  5. Adhere a piece of Shimmery White Cardstock to a Foam Adhesive Sheet and run through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Peace Die to create the bottom layer of the sentiment. Cut the top layer of the sentiment using the same set of dies and adhere with multipurpose glue. Adhere the finished sentiment piece to the front of the wreath.
  6. Use a Stampin’ Dimensional on the back of each oil bottle when placing in the box. This will keep them neatly lined up and will prevent them from moving around in the box.
  7. Print your oil info, trim, roll, and wrap with a ribbon and a bow. Add a small gift tag with the sentiment of your choice. (Mine is from the Little Treats stamp set and I used the Timeless Label Punch to make a quick and easy tag).
  8. Place your rolled paper in the box, close the top, tuck in the tabs, and your gift is ready to give!

The Mini Paper Pumpkin Boxes are truly a versatile product and can be used to create packaging for so many different types of gifts! Use them to package notecards, tags, jewelry, oils, treats (they are food safe) and so much more! There is so much you can do with these, and are a must have for holiday gift giving!

I hope you have enjoyed my project today! Please contact me if you have any questions. And please continue on to the next stop on our hop, which is Twila Davis‘ page. You can get there by clicking HERE or by clicking the image below:

Color Fusers Blog Hop for October 2020

Happy Fall, Everyone! I can’t believe it’s already October! Only two months left in this crazy year, and then hopefully 2021 will be the year that things start to get back to normal (fingers crossed!) It’s time for our October Color Fusers Blog Hop, and this month, we have a unique combination of Cinnamon Cider, Crumb Cake, and Cherry Cobbler to share:

My project this month features the Birds & Branches Bundle, which can be found in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. Though it is mostly an everyday occasion set, I decided to make a Christmas card with it. I wasn’t quite sure how these colors would work for a Christmas card, but I really like the end result! Here’s a peek at the full bundle:

The bundle includes the Birds & Branches stamp set, as well as the coordinating Birds & More Dies. I also used a decorative stamp from the Joyful Holly stamp set in the corners of the card, as well as a sentiment from the Sweetest Time set. The holly was stamped in Cinnamon Cider and the berries were colored with Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends. The sentiment was stamped in Cherry Cobbler. The middle layer was cut using the Rectangle Stitched Dies, and the top layer was torn along the edges to give it a bit of a rustic look. The birds in this set are two step stamps. There is an outline stamp for each, and then a solid image that you can stamp over (or under) to produce a multilayer/multicolor effect. I stamped the outline of the bird in Cherry Cobbler, then stamped the solid bird image in Crumb Cake over it, and cut with the coordinating die. I then sponged some Wink of Stella onto the bird to give it a little shimmer before mounting it on the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Thick Very Vanilla cardstock card base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Crumb Cake cardstock middle layer: 3-3/8 x 4-3/4 inches

Very Vanilla top layer: 3 x 4-1/4 inches (approximate)

Cinnamon Cider piece for branch: 2 x 4-1/2 inches (approximate)

Small piece of Cherry Cobbler for the flowers

Because this is a Christmas card, I wanted to add a little bling to dress it up. So in addition to the bird, I also sponged some Wink of Stella onto the branch. I cut small flowers from Cherry Cobbler cardstock using the Confetti Flowers Border Punch, and added those to the branch, then added some rhinestones to the flowers’ centers. The card was finished with a small Linen Thread bow. While these colors are definitely not your traditional Christmas colors, I think they still work!

I hope you have enjoyed our hop so far! Please continue on to Bonnie O’Neill’s page to see what she has created this month! Thanks so much for joining us today!
