It’s a 3D Thursday Extravaganza!

Before I post even one more thing on this blog, I NEED to post all of the fabulous 3D Thursday projects that I got behind on posting. I owe each of these ladies a HUGE apology, as ALL of their projects are amazing, and I just got really far behind. I am really, really sorry! Please enjoy the following projects, even though they are late!

Tape Roll Jewelry Box: Rhonda Griffin

I LOVE projects that reuse/upcycle items that would normally be thrown away. This is such a clever way to use leftover tape rolls, and Rhonda Griffin’s little boxes are just stunning! Rhonda was a Guest Deigner for 3d Thursday in May, and for her project, she used items from the Fine Art Floral Suite. For more info on Rhonda’s project, click HERE or on the image below to download her FREE project sheet:

Butterfly Card in a Box: Debbie Henderson

This gorgeous project was created by 3D Thursday team member Debbie Henderson. Debbie LOVES butterflies, and often incorporates them into her projects. This is a 3D card in a box. Who wouldn’t love to receive this? Debbie’s project features the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle and Hand Penned Suite, which are now available in the new Annual Catalog. For Debbie’s FREE project sheet, click HERE or on the image below:

Pineapple Treat Pouch: Jessica Brigden

Jessica Brigden was one of our Guest Designers in May, and she was also one of the demonstrators who earned the Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip to Maui this year! The trip was held in May, and Jessica made this project for her swaps for the trip. It’s a little Pineapple Treat Pouch, and how perfect is this to bring on a trip to Hawaii? Jessica’s project features the In the Tropics Dies, as well as gorgeous bright and tropical colors! You can learn more about Jessica’s project and download her FREE project sheet HERE or by clicking on the image below:

Trash to Treasure Clipboard: Twila Davis

Here was have another fun project that reuses materials that would normally be thrown away! This time, Twila Davis created a fun and useful little clipboard and matching pen. (I actually made one of these to keep on my kitchen counter for my shopping list. I LOVE it!) It would also make a great teacher gift, or craft fair item! For more information regarding Twila’s project, please click HERE for her FREE project sheet, or click on the image below:

Flower Basket 3D Card: Cathy Davenport

This gorgeous project was created by Guest Designer Cathy Davenport! She created a pretty floral 3D Pop Up card using products from the new Hand Penned Suite! I just love the colors she used on this project too. My favorite color is green, but I have been on a blue kick lately, and I LOVE how the blue and yellow look together on Cathy’s card! If you would like more info on how she made this, download her FREE project sheet HERE or click on the image below:

Flower Pot Treat Holder: Sarah Wills

Sarah Wills created this adorable sunflower themed treat holder using mini coffee cups and Sunflowers Dies. I love just love her Regals and Neutrals color scheme. Seashell Lip Balm Holder: Sherri Everett

For the final project of this post, these awesome Seashell Lip Balm holders were created by Guest Designer Sherri Everett Bishop. These are SO cute, and would make a great gift or favor for a beach themed shower or wedding! Sherri used products from the Friends are Like Seashells Bundle to create these. She also found the seashell lip balms at Dollar Tree. For more info, click HERE or on the image below for Sherri’s FREE project sheet:

3D Thursday: Art Gallery Fluttering Wall Hanging

It’s Thursday! And that means, it’s time for another 3D Thursday project! This week, we have a beautiful butterfly themed wall hanging by Debbie Henderson. She has used items from the Art Gallery Suite to create this stunning project:

Isn’t it so pretty? I love the colors Debbie used as well! The Purple Posy for the butterflies looks so great against the reds and yellows of the flowers. Debbie also used the new Gilded Leafing to add some shine to her project. I have not tried it yet, as honestly, I’m a little intimidated by it (lol), but I have seen some really beautiful projects made with it. I really need to pull mine out and give it a try! Here’s an up close look at the detail the leafing adds to Debbie’s project:

If you would like more info on Debbie’s project, as well as instructions on how you can make your own, you can download Debbie’s FREE project sheet HERE, or by clicking the image below. It includes step by step instructions, as well as a complete supply list!

Color Fusers Blog Hop for July 2020

Happy July! I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday weekend. It was quiet and different for us this year, but still fun!

It’s the first Monday of the month so it’s time for our Color Fusers Blog Hop for July! We’ve got a pretty combo of Calypso Coral, Pacific Point, and Coastal Cabana to share today:

For my card today, I embossed a piece of Pacific Point cardstock with the new Dandelions 3D Embossing Folder. But before I did, I inked up the folder with VersaMark ink. Doing this creates some nice variation in color between the raised embossed image and the flat background of the design. It’s hard to see in the pictures, but the cardstock looks almost like velvet in person! Here is another card I made recently using the same technique. You can see the color variation a little better on this one:

For the card I made for today, I layered the Pacific Point top layer over a middle layer of Coastal Cabana, which was then layered over a Thick Whisper White card base. I added a tiny butterfly in Calypso Coral, and stamped the sentiment in that color as well. I also colored some Whisper White 1/4″ Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon with my Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends Markers. When it was done, I wanted the color to be a little lighter, so I washed the ribbon with a drop of dish soap and let it dry. I was surprised to see that the ribbon did not have uniform color after doing so, but I kind of like it! It has almost a light ombre effect when you see it up close!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Thick Whisper White cardstock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Calypso Coral cardstock middle layer: 4 x 5-1/4 inches

Pacific Point cardstock top layer: 3-3/4 x 5 inches

Calypso Coral butterfly: 1/2 x 3/4 inch (approximate)

Whisper White sentiment piece: 2-1/4 x 1-1/8 inches

I finished the card with some small rhinestones on the butterfly, and sponged some Wink of Stella onto the heads of the dandelions. I did this by brushing the Wink of Stella onto a sponger dauber and just lightly circling it onto each flower. Again, it’s hard to see in the pictures, but it’s a nice added touch in person!

I hope you have enjoyed my project today! Please continue through the rest of the hop to see what the rest of my talented teammates have created. Next up is Tami Hewlett!

Have a fantastic day!

Color Fusers Blog Hop for April 2020

Welcome to our Color Fusers blog hop for April! Well, things have certainly changed since last month, haven’t they? Who would have thought a month ago that all of this craziness in the world would be happening? Usually, on a Color Fusers hop day, I would be carrying my phone from classroom to classroom with my alarm set to make sure that my post gets published at the right time. Today, I will most likely be sitting at my dining room table (pleading) with my boys to PLEASE get some schoolwork done. Such a huge and bizarre difference from a month ago!

We could all use some positive thoughts right now, so my project today features the stamp set Positive Thoughts, including a sentiment that I think we can really all use more of during this time : Hugs, Prayers, Love.

I love this month’s color combo! Blues and greens together are so calming, and I love these particular shades together. My card uses a Balmy Blue base, with Soft Sea Foam, Blueberry Bushel, and Whisper White layers. The sentiment is stamped in Granny Apple Green, and there are also some Glitter Enamel Dots in that color as well. The card is finished with a simple Blueberry Bushel bow.

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Balmy Blue cardstock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Soft Sea Foam cardstock layer: 4 x 5-1/4 inches

Balmy Blue cardstock embossed layer: 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

Blueberry Bushel cardstock scalloped layer: 3-1/8 x 4-7/8 inches

Whisper White cardstock top layer: 2-1/2 x 3-5/8 inches

Whisper White sentiment piece: 1-9/16 x 2 inches

Every stamped image on this card, including the sentiment, is from the Positive Thoughts set. This set has so many things I love: butterflies, leaves, flowers, simple script sentiments, and more! Take a peek at the full set below:

You can find a complete supply list for my project today at the end of this post. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. In the meantime, I hope you will continue through the rest of our hop! The next stop is Tami Hewlett’s page. Color Fusers Blog Hop for September 2019

Welcome to our Color Fusers hop for September! Our creations this month feature a gorgeous combination of Rococo Rose, Merry Merlot, Night of Navy, and Mossy Meadow!

My project today features the Very Versailles, Butterfly Gala, and Tasteful Textures stamp sets. I used a Crumb Cake base, as well as Very Vanilla for the background and envelope. Most of the images for this card were stamped off prior to stamping the final images, as I wanted to soften all of the colors a bit for this project.

To create this card, I took the Very Vanilla top layer and very lightly sponged Crumb Cake ink around the edges, as well as very lightly across the surface to give it an aged, almost light tea stained look. (It’s easier to see it in person, as it’s very subtle, but it’s definitely there!) I then took the script stamp from the Very Versailles set and inked it with Crumb Cake ink. I stamped it off three times before stamping the lower left and upper right corners. I then re-inked it, and stamped it off 5 times before stamping the other two corners. I did not stamp them all off the same amount, as I wanted there to be a difference in the shading of the ink on the background. I then stamped the leaves in Mossy Meadow and the sentiment in Night of Navy. Both were stamped off once before stamping the final images.

The butterflies were stamped in Merry Merlot ink on Rococo Rose card stock, and punched with the Butterfly Duet punch. This punch coordinates perfectly with the Butterfly Gala stamp set! I layered my finished top layer with my base and Night of Navy middle layer. The top and middle layer are adhered with Snail adhesive, and then they were adhered to the base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. After the card was fully assembled, I applied pearls to the butterflies that were colored with an Ivory Stampin’ Blends Marker, so that they didn’t look so white against the Very Vanilla background. Once that was done, I added an inside layer with coordinating sentiment, and my card was complete!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Crumb Cake card stock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Night of Navy card stock middle layer: 4 x 5-1/4 inches

Very Vanilla card stock top layer: 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

Rococo Rose card stock piece for butterflies: 3 x 3 inches (both will fit on one piece)

I hope you have enjoyed my project today! Please continue through the rest of our hop to see what the rest of our team has created this month! Next up is Bonnie O’Neill, who always has something gorgeous to share!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

A Butterfly Gala Birthday Card

My sister’s birthday was this past Saturday. She LOVES butterflies, so I definitely wanted to make her a card that featured them! This card was cased from a card by demonstrator Mary Fish. You can see her original card HERE.

My version features the Butterfly Gala stamp set and coordinating Butterfly Duet punch. The sentiment is from the Perennial Birthday stamp set. Colors are Merry Merlot, Sahara Sand, Soft Suede, and Very Vanilla.

The Designer Series Paper I used for the script background is from the Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper. I also used the Subtle #D Embossing Folder on the Sahara Sand layer. I love the added touch of the script and the texture!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Thick Very Vanilla cardstock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Sahara Sand layer: 4 x 5-1/4 inches

DSP piece: 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 inches

Merry Merlot cardstock piece for butterflies: 3 x 4 inches

Very Vanilla piece for sentiment piece: 1 x 4-1/4 inches (before punched)

The banner piece was adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals to make it pop a little, a few pearls were added to dress up the butterfly, and the card was complete!

This card could definitely be use for many different occasions just by switching up the paper and sentiment!

Hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by!

A Simple Garden Lane Thank You

My project today features one of my favorite new products: the Garden Lane Designer Series Paper! It features gorgeous floral patterns in five (yes, FIVE) shades of green! Green is my favorite color, so when I saw this paper, I instantly fell in love with it! Here are the five greens, as well as a peek at the full array of designs in this paper:

For this card, I used Mint Macaron cardstock as the base, as well as Pear Pizzazz and Mint Macaron ink. These perfectly coordinate with the Mint Macaron ribbon looped behind the back of the sentiment piece.

The “thank you” sentiment is from the Love What You Do stamp set, and the tiny butterfly is from the Butterfly Gala set. It was punched with the coordinating Butterfly Duet Punch.

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Mint Macaron cardstock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Garden Lane DSP background layer: 4 x 5-1/4 inches

Whisper White Sentiment piece: 2 inches in diameter

Whisper White butterfly: 1 x 1 inch (approximate size)

This was a quick and easy thank you that was given to my son’s teacher at the end of the school year. I love its simplicity!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Another Butterfly Beauty Project!

Last week, I posted a card I made with the NEW Butterfly Beauty Thinlits Dies. There are two large dies in the set that layer together to make five, detailed, interconnected butterflies. For my card last week, I trimmed off the four smaller butterflies and used just the one large center one. Here’s what that card looked like in case you missed it:

And here’s what the thinlits dies look like:

I used the first large die to cut out the bottom layer in Powder Pink, and then used the second large die to cut out the detail in Sparkle Glimmer Paper.

After I made last week’s card, I held on to the four smaller butterflies that were trimmed off, and used two of them on my card for today! Other products featured on this card include the All My Love Designer Series Paper, Stitched Rectangle Framelits, Dragonfly Dreams stamp set, and Gingham Gala Sequins!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Thick Whisper White card stock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

DSP strip: 2-1/4 x 5-1/2 inches

Whisper White Stitched Rectangle layer: 2-5/8 x 4 inches

Small Butterfly: 1-1/4 x 1-1/2 inches (approximate)

Larger Butterfly: 2 x 1-3/4 inches (approximate)

And after two projects, I still have two more butterflies to use from that original die cut! So please be sure to check back soon to see how I use those as well!

Thanks for visiting today! Have a great day!

Dreaming of Spring with Butterfly Beauty Thinlits

As I sit here and write this, it is 2 degrees outside. TWO degrees! It is SO cold!!! I don’t normally mind winter, but when it’s this cold, I get pretty cranky. I am very much looking forward to Spring and warmer temperatures! One thing that always reminds me of nice weather is buttterflies. I just LOVE butterflies, and any craft supply item that has them. So when I saw the NEW Butterfly Beauty Thinlits Dies, I knew I needed to add them to my collection! You can take a look at the full set below:

This set contains dies to make lots of different sized butterflies. The two largest dies actually layer together to make five connected butterflies. These two dies are actually the ones I used for today’s card. I cut the bottom piece from Powder Pink card stock, and the top layer from Sparkle Glimmer Paper. I then adhered them together with Multipurpose Glue, and then trimmed off the four smaller butterflies so I was left with just one, large one. (I did save the other four, and plan to make other projects with them, which you will probably see very soon!)

The colors I chose for this card are Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Powder Pink, and Whisper White.

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Berry Burst card stock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Lemon Lime Twist middle layer: 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

2017-2019 In Color DSP top layer: 3-3/4 x 5 inches

Sparkle Glimmer Paper/Powder Pink Butterfly piece: 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inches*

Whisper White sentiment piece: 2-1/4 x 1-3/8 inches

*When trimmed, the single large butterfly is about 2-3/4 x 3-3/4 inches

You can find the thinlits and stamp set, as well as the cute flower sequins in the new Occasions Catalog. Everything else is in the Annual one. A complete supply list can be found below!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope wherever you are, it’s warmer than here! 🙂

Simple Stamping Sunday: Butterfly Gala

It’s another Simple Stamping Sunday post! This week, my card was made with the Butterfly Gala stamp set. I also used a combination of Blueberry Bushel, Pacific Point, Balmy Blue, Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, and Pool Party inks. The card base is a Whisper White Notecard.

Take a peek at the full stamp set used on this card:

I love this set because it contains a great mix of both images and sentiments! (Plus I LOVE butterflies!) The butterflies and sentiment were stamped in StazOn black ink. I also used one of the Uninked Spectrum Ink Pads and inked it with the following colors, in the order shown:

I found this color combination on Pinterest. It was put together by demonstrator Patty Bennett. (She has lots of great combinations for the spectrum pads on her page!) When I first stamped the colored portions of the wings, there were some blank white spots on the image so I used an Aqua Painter to blend the ink to fill in the spots!

Since Simple Stamping cards do not use any layers or embellishments, I wanted a way to dress the card up a bit. I used my Aqua Painter to add some spatters to the background, which were done in Pool Party ink!

So, just to recap, a Simple Stamping card only uses the following three products:

~ A 3-1/2 x 5 inch notecard base (in either Whisper White or Very Vanilla)

~ ONE stamp set

~ Ink (multiple colors are okay!)

And here are step by step instructions for completing this card:

  1. Fold the notecard along the score line and run your bone folder along the edge to sharpen the crease.
  2. Stamp the sentiment and butterflies in StazOn Black Ink. Set aside to dry for a few minutes.
  3. Use the spectrum ink pad to ink up the butterfly wing stamps and add color to the inside of all of the wings on both butterflies.
  4. Go over any white spots with an Aqua Painter to blend the ink.
  5. Add one drop of ink from the Pool Party ink refill to a clean, clear plastic stamping block. Squeeze the Aqua Painter to add a few drops of water and mix together to dilute. Get the tip of the Aqua Painter wet with the diluted ink, hold over the top of the card and tap repeatedly to create spatters. When you get the desired effect, set aside to dry.
  6. Stamp coordinating images on the envelope (if desired).

And that’s it! Please feel free to ask questions, and thanks for checking in!
