Last Week’s Facebook Poll: Blueberry Bushel wins!

Last week on my Facebook page, I posted a poll asking for my Facebook followers to vote for their favorite NEW In Color, and the winner was BLUEBERRY BUSHEL!  This gorgeous new color is one of the five new In Colors for 2018-2020, and will be available in the NEW Annual Catalog beginning June 1st!  Here’s a peek at all five colors:

As part of the Facebook poll, I said that I would make a project featuring the winning color, and post it today.  This is what I came up with!  I used the Beautiful Day stamp set, as well as Flourishing Phrases for the “Just a Note” sentiment.  To make this card, I used Shimmery White card stock for the top layer, Basic Black for the middle layer, and Blueberry Bushel for the base.  I stamped the butterfly in Staz On Black ink, then set aside for a few minutes to dry.  Once it was dry, I used an Aqua Painter to fill in the butterfly with Blueberry Bushel ink.  I wanted there to be noticeable variation in the color, so I let the color run almost completely out before I added more ink to the brush.  I then went back in to add a little more in certain spots when I was finished, until I got the look I wanted.  (When using water on Shimmery White card stock, it’s important not to use too much, as the card stock will warp!)

Once the image was dry, I assembled the card using Snail adhesive.  I then stamped the sentiment in Blueberry Bushel ink and added some Rhinestone Basic Jewels to finish it off.  At that point, I thought I was done, but I felt it needed something else.  So I pulled out my Clear Wink of Stella glitter brush and very lightly went over the lines of the butterfly, as well as a few sections of the wings!  Take a peek at how pretty the glitter looks!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Blueberry Bushel card base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Basic Black middle layer:  3-3/4 x 5 inches

Shimmery White top layer:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8 inches

This is the first of many projects that I will be making using the new In Colors!  The colors are good for two years, and are one of my favorite In Color palettes to be released in a long time!  I really love the bold, bright hues of this group, so I plan to start using them quite a bit ASAP!  Last year, I dedicated a week of posts to the new colors, where I featured a different color each day.  I hope to be able to do something similar with the new colors this year!  Please stay tuned for those projects soon!

If you have any questions about the new colors, or anything else, please feel free to ask!

Thanks for visiting today!  Have a great day!

Copper Tea Tin and Mini Note Card Set

My project today features items from a NEW suite of products called the Tea Room Suite!  All products in this suite will be available starting June 1st when the NEW 2018-2019 Annual Catalog goes live.  For this project, I used four products from the suite: Copper Tea Tins, Tea Room Copper Vinyl Stickers, Tea Room Ribbon, and Spot of Tea Framelits Dies.  There is also a coordinating stamp set, Designer Series Paper, and a Memories and More Card Pack in the suite!

For this project, I decided to keep it simple and do a coordinating set of three mini notecards with envelopes.  The tins measure 3-3/4 x 3-5/8 x 2-1/4 inches in size, making them the perfect size for holding 3 x 3 inch note cards and envelopes!

I wrapped the tin with a piece of Vellum, and then wrapped a piece of the Tea Room Ribbon around it as well.  I cut a doily from Fresh Fig cardstock using the Spot of Tea Framlits Dies and my Big Shot, then applied one of the stickers from the Tea Room Copper Vinyl Stickers.  I cut a 1-1/2 inch circle from the vellum as well, then applied the butterfly sticker.

Inside the tin are three mini notecards.  I used sentiments from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set for each card!  I used the same ribbon as on the outside of the tin, and used both of the doily dies from the Spot of Tea Framelits, one in Fresh Fig and the other in Whisper White.  I LOVE mini note cards, as they are the perfect size to tuck into gift bags, lunchboxes, or coworkers mail boxes!  You can also punch a small hole in the corner, thread some ribbon or twine through the hole, and use as a gift tag.  I kept all three cards exactly the same except for the sentiment and the sticker on the envelope:

I really love the combination of Fresh Fig and Copper.  I think it’s a really pretty color combination!

All of the items from the Tea Room Suite will be available June 1st.  When you receive your new catalog, you can find the suite on pages 14 and 15.  Need a demonstrator?  I would love to help you with whatever you need!  Please feel free to contact me anytime, or visit my online store to shop!

Although most of the products used on this project are not available just yet, there are still lots of fantastic products available NOW! Click the image below to shop current products, and don’t forget to check out the last chance products section!  All products in there are retiring, and are only available until May 31st or while supplies last.  Some products have started selling out already, so be sure to stock up on your retiring favorites before they are gone for good!

Three Shades of Green for Our March Team Facebook Hop!

Each month, a number of demonstrators from my upline’s team (myself included) participate in a team Facebook hop.  Each month has a theme, and we all create projects based on that theme.  We then each link to a different person on the list, and you go page to page using the links to see everyone’s projects!  Once you get back to the person you started with, the hop is complete!  Facebook and blog hops are a great way  to see lots of different projects, and get lots of ideas and inspiration!  If you are visiting my blog from the Facebook hop for March, WELCOME!  I hope you will check back again soon!

For this month’s hop, our theme is “Three Shades of Green”. My first thought of course was to make a St. Patrick’s Day themed project, but then decided to go with a large butterfly instead!  For this card, I used the largest butterfly from the Butterflies Thinlits Dies as the focus, along with a sentiment from the Petal Palette stamp set.  The full Butterflies Thinlits set includes three dies:

Note: in order to make the butterfly fit on the card and leave room for the sentiment, I trimmed the little tails from the bottom of the wings.

The three greens I used for this card are:

The glimmer paper that the butterfly is cut from may be a fourth green, OR it may coordinate with Lemon Lime Twist…it’s just listed as “light green” in the description of the paper, so I am not 100% sure which green it is supposed to be!  I think it looks like Lemon Lime Twist though, so we’ll go with that!
The base of this card is Garden Green, with a Pear Pizzazz middle layer.  The butterfly is cut from the green glimmer paper using the Big Shot, with a Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet on the back to make adhering the butterfly easy and mess free!  Also, I stamped some ink spots/blotches on the background using a stamp from the Swirly Bird stamp set using Lemon Lime Twist ink.  The sentiment is stamped in Garden Green to match the base.  The card is also embellished with a few iridescent sequins, to give it a little extra sparkle and shine!

Measurements for this card are as follows:
Garden Green card base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)
Pear Pizzazz middle layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches
Whisper White top layer:  3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches
Green Glimmer Paper and Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet:  cut to fit butterfly

If you would like to see the rest of the projects on the hop, please visit my Facebook page starting at 8:00 PM EST on March 7th, find the post for this card, and then click through the links until you get back to my page!  (I would love it if you liked my page while you’re there as well!)  Please note that the projects will NOT be posted on Facebook until 8:00 PM on the 7th!  Please click HERE to visit my Facebook page!

Thanks so much for visiting today!  I hope you’ve enjoyed my project!  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me!
