A Lovely Floral Card Made with the Share What You Love Suite

My card today was made for a wedding that I will be attending next week!  I used two items from the NEW Share What You Love Suite, along with some current favorites.  To make this card, I embossed the top layer with a new embossing folder called the Lovely Floral Dynamic 3D Textured Embossing Folder.  It has a large, beautiful floral design that gets pressed into your paper when run through the Big Shot!  The design is pretty enough to stand on it’s own, but for this card, I wanted to do something a little different.  Here’s a peek at the folder so you can see what the whole design looks like:

It’s hard to see the whole thing, but there is a large central flower in the design of this folder.  For my card, I chose to cover up the flower with the sentiment, and instead have the sentiment be the center focus of the card.  The sentiment is heat embossed in silver and is from the Love What You Do stamp set.  It was cut out with the Layering Circles Framelits, and framed with a scalloped circle from the same set in a brand new color called Soft Sea Foam.  (I also used this color for the middle layer of the card.)

In order to dress up this card a little more, I added some vellum leaves made with the Leaf Punch, as well as some die cuts cut from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  For those, I used the Bouquet Bunch Framelits.  I also added a piece of sheer 1/8 inch white ribbon behind the sentiment for a little extra detail, and of course, added a few pearls in there too…it’s for a wedding, so why not?  🙂

Right now, you can get the Love What You Do stamp set and the Lovely Floral Embossing Folder as part of the Gotta Have It All early release bundle in the online store!  In addition to the two gorgeous items mentioned above, you also get a bunch of other items from the new Share What You Love Suite, as well as THREE FREE GIFTS with your purchase!  To see the full bundle and what is included, please click HERE.

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Shimmery White cardstock base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Soft Sea Foam middle layer:  3-7/8 x 5-3/16 inches

Shimmery White cardstock top layer: 3-3/4 x 5 inches

Shimmery White/Soft Sea Foam sentiment pieces:  2-1/2 x 2-1/2 inches

Vellum leaves and Dazzling Diamonds pieces:  2 x 2-1/2 inches each

Did I mention that this whole card is made from Shimmery White Cardstock?  That, combined with the Dazzling Diamonds paper, silver sentiment, pearls, and more all make this a perfect wedding card!  I hope that the couple I made it for will like it.  (And I hope you do too!)

Mini Treat Bag Gift Card Holder

My project today features one of the most useful retiring products that Stampin’ Up! sells:  the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies.  This is a perfect item to have on hand when you need small bags for gift cards, note cards, treats, and more!  The finished bag measures about 3-3/4 x 5-3/8 inches.  For this project, I used it to make a gift card holder for a Starbucks Gift Card!

I used the thinlits to make the bag from a piece of the NEW Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper.  (There is a woodgrain pattern in the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper, but as it is so close to the end of the catalog period, I did not have enough of that pattern left, so I substituted the one from Tranquil Textures instead.)  As I was making this for a Starbucks gift card, I wanted to make the whole project coffee themed.  The Coffee Cafe bundle and Coffee Break Designer Series Paper were perfect for what I needed, AND the colors of the paper just so happen to coordinate with Starbucks colors too!

Once the bag was made, I cut a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and stamped the coffee beans from the Coffee Cafe stamp set in Versamark ink all over it.  I then wrapped it around the bag like a band, and wrapped a piece of Linen Thread twice around the band for a little added detail.  The sentiment is stamped in Garden Green ink, and is cut out with the coordinating die from the Coffee Cups Framelits.  I layered it on a Corrugated Elements embellishment and then mounted it to the bag with mini dimensionals.  I also used one of the framelits to cut the cup from another piece of the Coffee Break Paper, and mounted that with mini dimensionals as well.  I then added a small button from the True Gentleman buttons and a tiny linen thread bow to the cup.

For the inside piece, I used a piece of Garden Green cardstock, and again stamped the coffee beans down one side of it in Versamark.  I then used a one inch strip of the polka dots pattern from the Coffee Break Paper, cut both ends with the Triple Banner Punch, cut it in half, then stapled it to the top of the green piece.  This is so that it can be used as a handle to easily pull the insert out of the bag.  I mounted the gift card to the green insert piece with mini dimensionals as well, and slid the whole thing into the bag.  Now it is ready to be given to its recipient!

The measurements for this project are as follows:

Tranquil Textures DSP:  6 x 6 inches (you need two pieces to make the bag!)

Crumb Cake Band:  1-1/2 x 9 inches

Garden Green Insert:  3-1/2 x 4-3/4 inches

Coffee Break DSP banner piece:  1 x 6 inches (cut with Triple Banner punch, cut in half, and stapled to top of green insert piece as shown)

Whisper White sentiment piece:  2 x 2 inches

The Mini Treat Bag Thinlits and Coffee Break Designer Series Paper are both retiring items and are only available while supplies last, or until May 31st!  The Coffee Cafe Bundle is available for 10% off until May 31st, after which time, the stamp set and framelits will still be available, but the 10% discount will not be.  So if you really love this bundle, buying it before May 31st will save you some money!
