It’s Thursday, and that means it’s time for another 3D Thursday project! It’s MY turn this week, and I created this sweet mini sampler, using new products from the January-June Mini Catalog!
To make this, I bought a small picture frame at Wal-Mart. I looked in three different stores for a small, white, square frame, and I couldn’t find one. This one was originally a light gray, distressed frame, but it was the only one I could find close to what I was looking for! So I bought it and then just painted it white.
I used three sets of dies for this project:
Layering Squares Dies
Many Hearts Dies
Playful Alphabet Dies
The Layering Squares Dies and the Playful Alphabet dies can be found in the Annual catalog. The Many Hearts dies are all new, and can be found on page 15 of the new catalog. Here’s a peek at the full set:
I also used a new Designer Series Paper called Snail Mail DSP. The paper has lots of cute, fun prints, some of which are perfect for Valentine’s Day! The paper can be found on page 55 of the catalog. You can also see it below:
I just love the fun, colorful prints in this paper! If you would like to make your own mini sampler, you can download my FREE Project sheet HERE, or by clicking on the image below:

Happy Fall, Everyone! I can’t believe it’s already October! Only two months left in this crazy year, and then hopefully 2021 will be the year that things start to get back to normal (fingers crossed!) It’s time for our October Color Fusers Blog Hop, and this month, we have a unique combination of Cinnamon Cider, Crumb Cake, and Cherry Cobbler to share:
My project this month features the Birds & Branches Bundle, which can be found in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. Though it is mostly an everyday occasion set, I decided to make a Christmas card with it. I wasn’t quite sure how these colors would work for a Christmas card, but I really like the end result! Here’s a peek at the full bundle:
The bundle includes the Birds & Branches stamp set, as well as the coordinating Birds & More Dies. I also used a decorative stamp from the Joyful Holly stamp set in the corners of the card, as well as a sentiment from the Sweetest Time set. The holly was stamped in Cinnamon Cider and the berries were colored with Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends. The sentiment was stamped in Cherry Cobbler. The middle layer was cut using the Rectangle Stitched Dies, and the top layer was torn along the edges to give it a bit of a rustic look. The birds in this set are two step stamps. There is an outline stamp for each, and then a solid image that you can stamp over (or under) to produce a multilayer/multicolor effect. I stamped the outline of the bird in Cherry Cobbler, then stamped the solid bird image in Crumb Cake over it, and cut with the coordinating die. I then sponged some Wink of Stella onto the bird to give it a little shimmer before mounting it on the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals!
Measurements for this card are as follows:
Thick Very Vanilla cardstock card base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)
Crumb Cake cardstock middle layer: 3-3/8 x 4-3/4 inches
Very Vanilla top layer: 3 x 4-1/4 inches (approximate)
Cinnamon Cider piece for branch: 2 x 4-1/2 inches (approximate)
Small piece of Cherry Cobbler for the flowers
Because this is a Christmas card, I wanted to add a little bling to dress it up. So in addition to the bird, I also sponged some Wink of Stella onto the branch. I cut small flowers from Cherry Cobbler cardstock using the Confetti Flowers Border Punch, and added those to the branch, then added some rhinestones to the flowers’ centers. The card was finished with a small Linen Thread bow. While these colors are definitely not your traditional Christmas colors, I think they still work!
I hope you have enjoyed our hop so far! Please continue on to Bonnie O’Neill’s page to see what she has created this month! Thanks so much for joining us today!
Happy September! I can’t believe it’s almost officially Fall! Since it’s the first Monday of the month, it’s time for our monthly Color Fusers Blog Hop. Today, we have a pretty combo of Balmy Blue, Night of Navy, and Melon Mambo!
For my project today, I used the new Dove of Hope Bundle from the 2020 August-December Mini Catalog. Most of the time, I like to stick to traditional holiday colors when creating Christmas crafts. Every once in awhile though, I like to mix it up. I LOVE doves at Christmas time. I think they are so peaceful and beautiful! So when I saw the colors we were using this month, I knew I wanted to do something with this bundle, though I wasn’t sure exactly what. I just started playing with the colors and dies, and this is what I came up with!
To make this card, I used a small artists palette from the dollar store and added one drop of ink from Balmy Blue, Night of Navy and Melon Mambo ink refills into different wells. I then added a small amount of water to each well and mixed thoroughly. I used my Water Painters to randomly swirl the colors on a sheet of watercolor paper. I then set the paper aside to dry. While that was drying, I used some of the other dies from the Detailed Dove die set to cut the solid wing and tail pieces from Shimmery White Cardstock. I also cut the “Peace” sentiment from Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper using the new Joy Dies. Once the watercolor paper was dry, I cut the wing overlay pieces, as well as the dove’s body from the watercolored sheet. I adhered the colored overlay pieces to the solid underlay with Multipurpose Glue. I adhered the finished wings to the dove with Mini Glue Dots, and then went over the entire thing with Wink of Stella glitter. It’s hard to tell from the pictures, but you can see the shine just a bit in the picture below:
While the bird was drying, I cut the middle layer from Balmy Blue cardstock, and the top layer from Night of Navy. To create some variation in color, I used a Stampin’ Sponge to sponge VersaMark ink all over the Night of Navy piece in a circular pattern. While the ink was still not completely dry, I brushed Wink of Stella glitter onto the same sponge and sponged it over the Versamark in a circular motion to add just a hint of shimmer to the background. I also added some snowflakes from the Dove of Hope set in VersaMark as well. When the background piece was finished and dry, I assembled the card and adhered the dove with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I then applied the sentiment and sprig piece (cut from Vellum) with Multipurpose Glue, and stamped the sentiment on the inside. You can see the shimmer from the Shimmery White Cardstock base in the picture below:
Once the whole card was dry, I embellished the front with some Snowflake Adhesive Backed Embellishments and my card was complete!
Measurements for this card are as follows:
Shimmery White Cardstock card base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)
Balmy Blue cardstock middle layer: 4 x 5-1/4 inches
Night of Navy cardstock top layer: 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches
Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper sentiment: 1 x 3 inches (approximate)
Dove: 3-1/2 x 4-1/2 inches (approximate)
I hope you have enjoyed my project for this month! Please continue through our hop to see what my talented teammates have created with this month’s colors. Next up is Tami Hewlett!
My mom’s birthday was yesterday and she LOVES cardinals! So it only made sense that I would make her a card with a cardinal on it. And while I realize this card is definitely NOT a Christmas card, I think it could very easily be changed to make it one! Just add a few green sprigs, some red pearls or rhinestones, and switch out the greeting and DSP, and it would make a great Christmas card instead! (And I plan to do just that very soon!)
For this card, I used the Best Birds stamp set, along with the coordinating Birds & Blooms Thinlits. I used DSP from the Regals 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper for the background, as well as Real Red cardstock for the bird. As the cutting dies do not actually cut the proper shape for a cardinal, I had to add a small piece that I cut with Paper Snips to make the crest on the top of the bird’s head. The branch and flowers were stamped in Memento black ink and colored with Soft Suede, Old Olive, and Real Red Stampin’ Blends.
The Happy Birthday sentiment comes from the same stamp set, which has a number of stamps for different occasions, including birthdays, congratulations, anniversaries, and more! This is definitely a great set to have in your collection, especially if you have bird lovers in your life! Here’s a peek at the full set as well as the thinlits:
Measurements for this card are as follows:
Thick Whisper White card base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)
Polka Dot DSP background layer: 4 x 5-1/4 inches
Whisper White stitched circle: 2-15/16 inches in diameter
Real Red bird: 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 inches
Whisper White scrap used for branch and flowers: approximately a 2 x 4-1/2 inch piece
Other products used on this card include the punch from the Darling Label Punch Box, Linen Thread, and Pearl Basic Jewels.
I cannot WAIT to redo this card for Christmas! Stay tuned for the updated version coming very soon!
If you have any questions about my card today, please feel free to ask. Thanks for checking in! 🙂

I made this card this weekend using a new product called Graceful Glass 6×6 inch Designer Vellum. It is vellum with pre-printed designs, specifically made to be hand colored to give the look of stained glass! It includes 2 sheets each of 12 different designs, for a total of 24 sheets. Here’s a sneak peek at the different designs that are included in the pack:
The designs in the pack include flowers, shapes, and other patterns that are all equally gorgeous and fun to color! For this card, I decided to use the sheet with the birds. I googled “Birds on a wire” and came across a beautiful stained glass piece with multiple birds in all different colors. I used it as the inspiration for the colors I used to color the birds for this card. (Click HERE to see the piece.) I colored all of the birds with Stampin’ Blends markers, which will be back in stock June 1st! There will also be eleven new colors added to the Stampin’ Blends collection on that date as well!
For the card base, I used a new color called Balmy Blue. It’s one of the new colors in the Subtles Collection and is a gorgeous, soft, almost baby blue color! I love how it looks against the colors of the birds!
Measurements for this card are as follows:
Balmy Blue cardstock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)
Designer Vellum piece: 2-3/8 x 5-1/2 inches
Whisper White Backing piece for vellum: 2-1/2 x 5-1/2 inches
Whisper White Ribbon Punched strips (2): 1 x 5-1/2 inches
The Stampin’ Blends colors that I used are:
Night of Navy
I used both the light and dark of each color.
I also used a small floral stamp from the Love What You Do stamp along the top and bottom of the card. I stamped the flowers in VersaMark ink, so that it would be more subtle than full color ink. I also added two strips of Whisper White punched with the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch for a little added detail!
The card was finished with 1/8 Whisper White Sheer Ribbon. I did not add a sentiment to the front, as I had a hard time figuring out where to put one! I didn’t want to detract from the birds, so I decided to just leave the whole card blank for now, and then when I decide who I want to send it to and for what, I can just add a sentiment to the inside!
This card was a lot of fun to make and I love how colorful it is! I hope you like it too!
I just love the new Flying Home stamp set! This adorable bird themed set is available in both wood and clear mount, and contains eight red rubber stamps. The thin lines of the set make it perfect for hand coloring with markers, water color pencils, or other coloring tools. Pair the images in this set with the sentiment of your choice. It’s perfect for cards for all different occasions!
The set includes three large stamps, as well as five small individual stamps, perfect for adding detail or backgrounds. The smaller stamps include two butterflies, two birds, and a cute little bumblebee. This set would make a great addition to your stamp collection!

I received this gorgeous Congratulations card last week in the mail from my amazingly talented upline, Sarah Wills! Sarah’s cards are always so beautiful, and she always puts together colors that look so striking together! I love the color combo she chose for this card! The colors are as follows:
This card features the Beautiful Peacock stamp set, which can be earned for FREE with a $50 purchase (before tax and shipping) during Sale-a-Bration! Sarah created multiple layers of the peacock by cutting them out separately and mounting them with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Other products she used to add detail to this card include: Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder; Stitched Shapes and Layering Circles Framelits; Lemon Lime Twist 3/8 Inch Mini Striped Ribbon; and Silver Baker’s Twine. Here’s a close up of the peacock:
As mentioned above, the Beautiful Peacock stamp set is available as a FREE Sale-a-Bration item, and is ONLY available with a purchase of $50 or more (before tax and shipping)! It is a photopolymer stamp set and includes 12 stamps. It’s a two step stampin’ set too! Here’s a pic of the whole set:
While the stamps are all designed to work together, and definitely focus on building the peacock, many of them can be used alone as well. The two tail stamps can be used as simple flourishes, the polka dots and flower stamps can be used as background stamps and accents, and of course, the sentiments can be mixed and matched with lots of other sets! This is a very versatile set!
But this set is only available until March 31st! And again, it’s only available as a FREE Sale-a-Bration item! (This set cannot be purchased, only earned with a qualifying order!)
You can find out more information about this gorgeous set HERE.
I always love the cards that Sarah sends me! Each one is so different and unique, and this one is no exception. I always know when I see an envelope from her in my mailbox that it contains something special! 🙂
I hope you like Sarah’s card as much as I do! Thanks for stopping by today!
Here’s a fun, happy card to start the week! This very cute parrot is from the Bird Banter set in the Occasions catalog. It contains a bunch of different birds, as well as some very cute bird themed sentiments, perfect for many different occasions! If you love birds, then this is a perfect set for you! Here’s a peek at the full set:
Isn’t is great? My card today uses the parrot, in blues, yellows, and greens. I used Pacific Point cardstock for the base, which is a color I don’t use too often, but I probably should. It’s such a pretty color! Every stamp I used on this card came from the Bird Banter set. So the flower I used to stamp the background, the branch, the bird, the hat, and the sentiment are all included in this one set!
Other products I used on this set include the Layering Circles Framelits, Triple Banner Punch, Silver Baker’s Twine, Metallic Enamel Shapes, and both Brights and In Color Stampin’ Write Markers. The markers I used to color the bird are Tempting Turquoise and Daffodil Delight. I initially had colored the bird with Pacific Point, but I thought it looked too dark. So I stamped it again and went with the Tempting Turquoise, which I liked much better! Plus I like how the lighter blue adds a little extra contrast!
This card was a lot of fun to make! It’s something a little different for me, but I love how it came out. I actually won this set at OnStage, and I’m so happy I did! Hope you like it too!
The card I made today is inspired by one of the cards I made in November at OnStage. Of all the samples we made, it was my favorite! To see the original card, please click here. For today’s card I used paper from the Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper as the background. The bird layer is stamped in Powder Pink ink and cut with the Stitched Shape Framelits, for a little added detail. I skipped a stamped sentiment, and instead went with a die cut one from the Celebrate You Thinlits, which you can earn for FREE with a $100 purchase before tax and shipping! It is one of the NEW $100 level rewards that can be earned this year during Sale-a-Bration!
Before cutting the sentiment, I applied a piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet to the back. Doing this, in essence, creates a sticker from the die cut, and makes it simple to adhere your die cuts with very little effort/mess. When you’re ready to apply, you just peel off the back layer and stick! It’s a little extra work and expense, but definitely worth it! Honestly, no matter how careful I am with glue, I ALWAYS make a mess! So the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets are definitely a life saver for me!
Once the card was assembled, I added an extra scalloped circle layer behind the bird, and adhered the whole thing with dimensionals to make it pop a little! I then added a few embellishments to finish it off. I used two embellishments from the Occasions catalog on this card. First, the silver leaves are from the Petal Passion Embellishments. I then added a few epoxy shapes from the Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes. These are one of my favorite new embellishments to use! They are clear and very tiny, but they give a nice added touch to projects! I used the glitter ones, which have just the tiniest hint of glitter! Here’s a close up:
These cards will be going to new team members and members who have birthdays this month! I hope they like them, and I hope you do too! 🙂
If you have any questions about this card, please don’t hesitate to ask!
