Color Fusers Blog Hop for February 2020

It’s time for another Color Fusers Blog Hop! This month, we have a gorgeous combination of Blushing Bride, Very Vanilla, Sahara Sand, and Early Espresso!

For some reason, when I think of pink with shades of brown and ivory, I think of vintage, lacy things. So when I was designing my card for this month, I went with that theme. I used Early Espresso card stock for the base, then layered it with Sahara Sand, Blushing Bride, and Very Vanilla on top. The card is embellished with a lacy bow and a shimmery pink flower.

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Early Espresso card stock card base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Sahara Sand card stock layer: 3-3/4 x 5 inches

Blushing Bride card stock layer: 3-5/8 x 4-7/8 inches

Very Vanilla card stock top layer: 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 inches

Blushing Bride die cut heart: 2-1/4 x 2-3/8 inches

Blushing Bride blossom: 1 inch (approximate)

Sahara Sand card stock sentiment piece: 1/2 x 2 inches (approximate)

While the overall layout of this card is very simple, I added a number of details to dress it up a bit:

  1. The corners on the base are stamped with leaves in Versamark ink.
  2. The top layer is embossed using the Scripty 3D embossing folder.
  3. The flower was crinkled and then coated in Wink of Stella to give it some extra texture, shimmer, and shine.
  4. A Frosted Flower Embellishment with a tiny pearl was added to the center of the flower.
  5. Very Vanilla Scalloped Lace Trim was added, along with a bow to finish it off!

While Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, I plan to use this card for an upcoming wedding. This card could definitely be used for Valentine’s Day, though, as well as an anniversary, engagement, or bridal shower!

I hope you have enjoyed my project today! Please continue to the next stop on this month’s hop, which is Melanie Hockin’s page. I can’t wait to see what she has created this month!

Have a great day!

A Masculine Anniversary Card for my Hubby!

Yesterday, my husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary!  We have actually been together for twice that long, but we tied the knot in 2008.  He’s a pretty rugged, outdoorsy type, so I needed to make a card that reflected that.  We live in a very rural area with lots of wildlife, so I thought I would pull out my Dashing Deer Bundle and use it for his card!

The card features the Dashing Deer Bundle, as well as Wood Textures 6 x 6 inch Designer Series Paper.  The anniversary sentiment is from the Best Birds set and the trees behind the deer are from Winter Woods.  The flourishes in the corners are the antlers from the large deer stamp in the Dashing Deer set.  I heat embossed the sentiment in Gold Emboss Powder to give it some texture, but also give a bit of shimmer and shine to this card!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Early Espresso cardstock base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Sahara Sand backing layer:  2-3/4 x 3-1/4 inches

Very Vanilla top layer:  2-1/2 x 3 inches

DSP background layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

Other products used on this card include Linen Thread and Pearls colored with the Bronze Stampin’ Blends marker. You can get a complete project list below!

CASE the Catty Day 6: A Beautiful Day Happy Anniversary Card

Today is my final project for CASE the Catty week!  I hope you have enjoyed my projects!  Today’s card was CASE’d from a card on page 110 of the Annual Catalog.  You can see the original in the pic below.  The one I copied is the top one:

For my version, I used the Beautiful Day stamp set for the flower and the Beautiful Bouquet set for the sentiment.  I also used a stamp from the Time for Tea set for the leaves.  The colors I used are Lovely Lipstick, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Basic Black, and Whisper White.

For my card, I heat embossed the sentiment in white embossing powder.  I also colored in the leaves with Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends Markers, and embellished with some Iridescent Sequins!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Thick Whisper White card base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 and folded in half)

Whisper White top layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

Flower:  2-3/4 x 2-3/4 inches

Basic Black strip:  1-1/8 x 4 inches

The Stampin’ Up! catalog is a great source of inspiration for projects!  It is always packed with gorgeous, full color samples that showcase all of the amazing products we offer!  Do you have a copy?  If not, feel free to contact me and I will get one out to you right away!
