You are Wonderful Card Made with the NEW Rooted in Nature Bundle

This card is based on one of the Make and Take projects I made at OnStage last month!  I actually did not get to finish the one we were making that day, so I took the pieces with me to finish at home.  Then I decided to mix it up a bit when new goodies from the new catalog arrived!  This card uses a new bundle called the Rooted in Nature Bundle, as well as coordinating Designer Series Paper called Nature’s Poem DSP.  Both items are part of a new suite of products called the Nature’s Poem Suite.  This whole suite has imagery and colors of trees, leaves, and other images of nature.  It’s definitely one of my favorite new suites!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Sahara Sand card base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

DSP Background Strips:  1-1/4 x 5-1/4 inches

Whisper White sentiment piece:  1-1/8 x 3 inches

Mint Macaron/Grapefruit Grove Leaves:  1-1/2 x 3 inches

Banner DSP piece:  3/4 x 2 inches

For this card, I used Snail Adhesive to adhere the background strips and leaves to the card base.  The sentiment and banner piece were adhered using Stampin’ Dimensionals, to give this card a little height and texture!  It’s embellished with a button from the True Gentleman Buttons, as well as a Linen Thread bow.

Be sure to check out the entire Nature’s Poem Suite in the new catalog when you receive it!  (It can be found on pages 142-144.  This is sure to be a very popular collection of products!

My Final OnStage Display Board Project!

My final display board project is actually very similar to the very first project I shared using items from the new Annual Catalog!  If you remember, I made a mini pizza box using the Love What You Do stamp set.  I even used most of the same colors as on this card!  Here’s a pic of the project I am referring to if you’d like to take a look:

Both projects use many of the same products, including the Love What You Do stamp set, the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper, the Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends, and the Tea Room ribbon!  However, on today’s project, the sentiment is not heat embossed, but rather stamped in Soft Suede ink, and framed by an outline stamp and framelit from the Rose Wonder stamp set and Rose Garden Thinlits Dies (which are retiring May 31st.)  The ribbon is also tied in a bow for the card!

I really love the color palette for this card!  The colors that were used are as follows:

And of course, Very Vanilla is used as the base neutral in this project as well (even though it’s not shown above!)

The measurements for this card are as follows:
Crumb Cake card base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)
Very Vanilla middle layer:  3-3/4 x 5 inches
Wood Textures DSP top layer:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8 inches
Very Vanilla Stitched Shapes Circle:  3-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches
Very Vanilla sentiment piece:  2 x 3 inches

This card was embellished with the NEW Tea Room Ribbon Combo Pack, as well as a few Pearl Basic Jewels that have been colored with an Ivory Stampin’ Blends Marker.  The ribbon will be available June 1st and comes in pack of two colors: Very Vanilla and Coastal Cabana.  The ribbon is 1/8 inch wide, and has beautiful Copper edging, which you can see nicely in the picture directly above!

So that’s it for my OnStage Display Board samples.  I hope you have enjoyed what I have created!  Don’t forget, the Love What You Do stamp set is available NOW to order as part of the Share What You Love Early Release, now through May 31st!  Click HERE to go to the early release section of the online store!

If you have any questions regarding this, or any other project I’ve shared, please feel free to ask!  🙂

Sitting, Thinking, Missing You with the Sitting Pretty Stamp Set

Today’s card was made with the NEW Sitting Pretty stamp set!  It features a potted plant and a sweet sentiment, all from the same stamp set.  It also features the NEW Subtle 3D Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder, also available in the upcoming 2018-2019 Annual Catalog!  (I’ll show a close up of this in a bit!)

This card uses Very Vanilla as the base neutral, along with Always Artichoke, Perfect Plum, and Copper accents.  I used the 1/4″ Copper Trim for the bow, and two brushed copper brads from a NEW assortment of metallic brads, also available in the new catalog.

The measurements for this card are as follows:

Always Artichoke card base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 and folded in half)

Very Vanilla base layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

Small Always Artichoke panel:  3-1/8 x 3-7/8 inches

Very Vanilla top layer:  3 x 3/4 inches

Here is a close up of the new Subtle embossing folder’s design:

This stamp set will be available June 1st!  Although I did not have them for OnStage, there are coordinating framelits for this set called the Pretty Park Framelits Dies.  Both the stamp set and the framelits will be available as a bundle in the new catalog, for a savings of 10%!

If you have any questions about this card, please feel free to ask.

Last Week’s Facebook Poll: Blueberry Bushel wins!

Last week on my Facebook page, I posted a poll asking for my Facebook followers to vote for their favorite NEW In Color, and the winner was BLUEBERRY BUSHEL!  This gorgeous new color is one of the five new In Colors for 2018-2020, and will be available in the NEW Annual Catalog beginning June 1st!  Here’s a peek at all five colors:

As part of the Facebook poll, I said that I would make a project featuring the winning color, and post it today.  This is what I came up with!  I used the Beautiful Day stamp set, as well as Flourishing Phrases for the “Just a Note” sentiment.  To make this card, I used Shimmery White card stock for the top layer, Basic Black for the middle layer, and Blueberry Bushel for the base.  I stamped the butterfly in Staz On Black ink, then set aside for a few minutes to dry.  Once it was dry, I used an Aqua Painter to fill in the butterfly with Blueberry Bushel ink.  I wanted there to be noticeable variation in the color, so I let the color run almost completely out before I added more ink to the brush.  I then went back in to add a little more in certain spots when I was finished, until I got the look I wanted.  (When using water on Shimmery White card stock, it’s important not to use too much, as the card stock will warp!)

Once the image was dry, I assembled the card using Snail adhesive.  I then stamped the sentiment in Blueberry Bushel ink and added some Rhinestone Basic Jewels to finish it off.  At that point, I thought I was done, but I felt it needed something else.  So I pulled out my Clear Wink of Stella glitter brush and very lightly went over the lines of the butterfly, as well as a few sections of the wings!  Take a peek at how pretty the glitter looks!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Blueberry Bushel card base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Basic Black middle layer:  3-3/4 x 5 inches

Shimmery White top layer:  3-5/8 x 4-7/8 inches

This is the first of many projects that I will be making using the new In Colors!  The colors are good for two years, and are one of my favorite In Color palettes to be released in a long time!  I really love the bold, bright hues of this group, so I plan to start using them quite a bit ASAP!  Last year, I dedicated a week of posts to the new colors, where I featured a different color each day.  I hope to be able to do something similar with the new colors this year!  Please stay tuned for those projects soon!

If you have any questions about the new colors, or anything else, please feel free to ask!

Thanks for visiting today!  Have a great day!

It’s a Beautiful Day with Love What You Do

Today’s OnStage sample was created with the Love What You Do stamp set!  To make this card, I took a piece of Whisper White card stock that was just slightly smaller than the top layer and used an Aqua Painter to color it with Prussian Blue Brusho Crystals.  While that was drying, I cut a 4 x 5-1/4 inch top layer and cut a circle from it using the Layering Circles Framelits.  I then stamped the sentiment in Smoky Slate ink, and stamped the small flowers in each corner with Soft Sky ink.  When the Brusho was dry, I heat embossed the flowers in white on top of it.  I then adhered the embossed Brusho layer to the base with snail adhesive.  I wrapped Silver Baker’s Twine around the top layer and tied a bow, then adhered the whole layer with dimensionals.  I finished the card by adding glitter shapes to the centers of the small flowers in the corners for a little added detail!  (The glitter shapes are from the Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes.)  You can see a close up of the embellishments below:

The measurements for this card are as follows:

Soft Sky card base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Brusho middle layer:  3-3/4 x 5 inches

Whisper White top layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

Layering Circles Framelits Opening Size:  2-3/8 inches in diameter

Please note that some of the products used on this card are retiring May 31st, and will not be available past that date!  Be sure to check the online store to see which products are still available!  Click the image below to visit the Retiring products section of the online store:

And please don’t forget to visit my Facebook page this week to vote for your favorite NEW In Color!  I’ll be taking votes until the end of this week and sharing the winning color next week!  You can visit my Facebook page HERE!  (I would love it if you “liked” my page while you’re there!)

Sitting Pretty Park Bench Note Card

Another stamp set that I received for OnStage samples is the Sitting Pretty stamp set!  This is a photopolymer set and contains 16 stamps.  There is a set of coordinating cutting dies that goes with this set called the Pretty Park Framelits.  Like all new bundles, there will be a 10% discount when you purchase the bundle!  While I do not yet have a picture of the dies, I can show you the full stamp set:

This set is a Two-Step Stampin’ set, which means that there are multiple stamps in the set that when stamped one on top of the other, a full image is created!  For this particular card, I did not use any of the two step stamps, but I did on a previous sample that I shared a couple of weeks ago!  (It was the one with the bulldog and the party hat and balloon.  You can see it HERE.)  In addition to the Sitting Pretty stamp set, I also used the Flourishing Phrases and Eastern Beauty sets.  Colors for this card are Smoky Slate, Basic Gray, Blushing Bride, and Whisper White!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Smoky Slate card base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Blushing Bride middle layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

Smoky Slate top layer:  3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

Blushing Bride middle strip:  1-1/2 x 3-7/8 inches

Basic Gray scalloped oval:  3 x 4 inches

White stamped top piece:  3 x 4 inches

Other info regarding this card:

Versamark ink was used to stamp the flourishes in the corners.

The card is embellished with 1/4 inch white organza ribbon and Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

This card also uses a NEW embossing folder called the Subtle 3D Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder.  I love this folder because it adds just a hint of texture!  It reminds me of almost a linen texture!  You can see a close up of the embossing below, on the pink strip under the ribbon:

The Sitting Pretty set will be available for purchase beginning June 1st!  I have one more sample from OnStage to share using this set, which I will share sometime in the next few days!  I hope you will check back in to see it!

Bee Happy Banner Made with the NEW Lined Alphabet Stamp Set

Sorry for the late post today!  My boys and I all fell asleep early last night and I didn’t get a chance to write my post until now!

My project today is the banner I made for my display board at OnStage.  It features the NEW Lined Alphabet Stamp set, as well as some current products as well! The letters were stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends Markers. The banner pieces are made from Petal Passion Designer Series Paper, and the bees were cut from dies from the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits set.  The letter and bee layers were cut and layered using the Layering Circle Framelits.  Here is a close up of the new alphabet set:

Each of the letters is only about an inch to an inch and a quarter in size, so they are a great size…big enough to be seen, but small enough to use on small projects!  There are also coordinating framelits available for this set, though I did not have those for OnStage!

Each banner piece measures 4-1/2 x 2-1/2 inches in size. I started out with slightly longer pieces and then cut the point on each by hand with Paper Snips to get them to 4-1/2 inches long.  They are strung together with Solid Black Baker’s Twine, and the yellow piece on the top of each banner piece was cut using a die from a new set called Spot of Tea Framelits, which will be available June 1st when the new catalog comes out!

Here’s a couple of close ups of the rest of the banner:

Items I used to embellish this project include Metallic Enamel Shapes, Crushed Curry 3/8″ Mini Chevron Ribbon, Silver Mini Sequin Trim, and 1/4 ” White Organza Ribbon.

Thanks for checking in today!  Enjoy your day!

The Cherry Blossoms are in Bloom!

My card today was made for our monthly team Facebook hop!  (If you are joining me from our Facebook hop, WELCOME!)  Each month, demonstrator’s from my upline’s team create projects based on a specific theme.  We all create projects based on that theme, and post them to Facebook at a specified time. We also post links to another person’s page in our posts.  This allows visitors to “hop” from one page to another to see all of the creations.  Once you get back to the first project you started with, the hop is complete!  If you have ever paged through a blog hop, it works the same way, just with Facebook pages!

This month, our theme was “Colorful Spring”.  My original plan was to make a card with tulips, because I LOVE tulips!  But then this morning, I was reading an article about how the cherry blossoms in Washington DC are at peak bloom this weekend, so I decided to go with cherry blossoms instead!  To do this, I used the Colorful Seasons Photopolymer Bundle.  This bundle contains the 24 piece Colorful Seasons stamp set, as well as the 17 piece Seasonal Layers cutting dies.  There are three stamps in the set with coordinating dies that make perfect cherry blossoms!

To make the flowers, I put all three flower stamps on one long block.  I then colored them with Flirty Flamingo ink using my Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Write Marker.  I then added Melon Mambo ink using the Melon Mambo marker, but purposely only added a little in the centers.  I then stamped them on Shimmer White Cardstock.  After they dried, I went over all of the flowers with my Powder Pink marker and filled in any light spots, or spots that weren’t fully stamped in.  I wanted the flowers to have a varied look as far as color.  Using the three shades of pink definitely helped accomplish this!

The branch is stamped in Soft Suede ink.  The flowers are arranged and adhered with Mini Glue Dots, and the card is finished with Lemon Lime Twist 1/4″ Ombre Ribbon. I tried to find a suitable greeting for the front of this card, but any I tried seemed to throw off the balance of the card, so I decided to leave it as is.  I very rarely leave sentiment off the front, but I really like the simplicity of this card, and thought it was fine as is.

The measurements for this card are as follows:

Shimmery White card base:  8-1/2 x 5-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Shimmery White top layer:  3-3/4 x 5 inches

Coffee Break DSP strip:  2 x 4-1/2 inches

Shimmery White scraps for flowers

Here’s a close up of the flowers.  You can also see a hint of the shimmer in the paper as well in this pic!

I added a few pearls to the centers of the flowers for a little added embellishment.  Real Cherry Blossoms don’t have such a defined center (I don’t think), but I liked the way it looked, so I went with it!

The bundle pricing for the Colorful Season Bundle is only available until May 31st!  Purchasing the bundle before May 31st will save you 10% off the cost of the stamps and dies separately.  If this bundle carries over into the new Annual Catalog, the bundle pricing will no longer be available starting June 1st!   The items will still be able to be purchased, but the discount for purchasing them together will no longer be available!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I am attending OnStage in Hartford, CT, so I should have lots of exciting info to share with you soon!

Have a great day!

No Bones About It Card

I have two small boys.  They are 3 and 6!  At any given time, the conversation in our house inevitably involves Star Wars, construction equipment, Legos, or dinosaurs!  This card was made with my boys in mind.  It features the No Bones About It stamp set and the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper.  The color palette for this card is:

Of course, Whisper White is in there as well! The No Bones About It stamp set includes 18 photopolymer stamps.  It contains 4 different dinosaurs, as well as coordinating skeletons/bones for each.  It also includes tracks, leaves, dots, and some sentiments!  Here is what is included in the full set:

The measurements for this card are as follows:
Emerald Envy card base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)
Night of Navy middle layer:  5-1/4 x 4 inches
Naturally Eclectic DSP top layer:  5-1/8 x 3-7/8 inches
Whisper White scraps for Stitched Shapes circles and dinosaur piece

This card was fun to make!  I need to use this set more often!  It’s a simple design, but my kids loved it when I showed them.  Now I need to make another one so they can each have one!
Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy your day!

Flourishes and Dragonflies All Occasion Card

This weekend, I wanted to make some cards with colors I rarely use.  I have my favorite colors, but Stampin’ Up! has such a huge, gorgeous color palette, that I really need to start using some of the other colors more often!  For this card I decided to use Tempting Turquoise as the main color, and added some silver accents to make it pop!  The flourish comes from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set, and the sentiment comes from the Barn Door set.  I also cut a dragonfly from Silver Glimmer Paper using the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies, and finished it off with Silver 3/8 Inch Metallic-Edge Ribbon!

The measurements for this card are as follows:

Thick Whisper White cardstock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Tempting Turquoise middle layer: 4 x 5-1/4 inches

Whisper White top layer:  3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

The dragonfly was cut from a series of five dragonflies that are all actually part of one die.  I only cut the top two and then trimmed one using Paper Snips.  I chose to do it in silver in order to match the silver on the edge of the metallic ribbon.  Plus, I wanted to give the card some extra shine!  Here’s a peek at the full Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits set:

Don’t forget, there’s still time to shop during Sale-a-Bration and earn free items and extra Stampin’ Rewards!  But it all ends March 31st, so grab those freebies while you can!  🙂
