A Quick and Easy Thank You with Designer Series Paper Strips

Here’s a quick and easy Thank You card made with leftover Designer Series Paper strips.  This card is not only super easy to make, but is also a great way to use up those small pieces of DSP that you may have laying around!  I don’t like to waste ANYTHING, so when my upline posted a challenge for us to create a card very similar to this, I thought it was a great way to use up leftover DSP!  You can very easily switch up the look of this card by switching the paper, ribbon, punch, and sentiment.  For this one, I used the Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper, along with a Thank You sentiment from the Petal Palette stamp set.  I also used the 3/8 inch Powder Pink Shimmer Ribbon, Pretty Label Punch, and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.

Here are the measurements of the different pieces you will need for this card:

Card Base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored and folded in half)

DSP strips: 1 x 3 inches each

Backing layer for DSP strips:  3-1/4 x 4-1/4 inches

Punch piece and Glimmer Paper: big enough for whatever punch or die you use for the sentiment  (cut the punched glimmer paper piece in half lengthwise and adhere with glue dots to the back of the sentiment.  You want it to be offset a bit to look layered).

Once you have all of your pieces, adhere the DSP strips to the backing with Snail Adhesive (or other adhesive of your choice).  Adhere a piece of ribbon across the strips, fold the end pieces under, and adhere to the back.  Then mount onto your card base.  Assemble your sentiment piece and adhere to the card with Dimensionals.  For this card, I didn’t want to embellish too much, as the paper has silver foil accents, which I think dresses it up nicely as is.  So I just added a couple of silver Metallic Enamel Shapes, and the card was complete!  Super easy and quick!

We Must Celebrate…a Happy Birthday!

A couple of weeks ago, I did a poll on my Facebook page asking people which stamp set they would like to see me get and make projects with.  The stamp set We Must Celebrate got the most votes, hands down!  This very cute set was already on my wish list, but I hadn’t had a chance to get it.  This gave me a reason to finally order it!

For the first card I made with this set, I wanted to keep it simple.  I stamped the little animals and colored them with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  I then cut them out with the Lots of Labels Framelits.  I used a piece of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper for the background and wrapped a piece of linen thread around it a couple of times before mounting it to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I then heat embossed the sentiment in white, trimmed it to 1/2 inch wide, and then cut the ends with the Triple Banner Punch.  The sentiment is also mounted with dimensionals.  And that’s it!  I had planned to add a linen thread bow and put a heart somewhere, but when I added them, it looked a little cluttered!  So I decided to just leave the extras off.  Sometimes, you just gotta keep it simple!

Rustic Valentine’s Day Mini Note Cards

Today’s project is a set of three mini Valentine’s cards inspired by German Demonstrator Sylwia Schreck.  Each measures 3 x 3 inches, and has a very simple design!  The background of each is a different pattern from the Wood Textures 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper, which is available in the Annual Catalog.  The hearts and leaves are from the Sure Do Love You stamp set, and were all cut out on the Big Shot with dies from the Lots to Love Box Framelits Dies!  Both of these items coordinate perfectly, and can be purchased as a bundle for a savings of 10%. The bundle can be found in the Occasions Catalog!

Each heart and leaf combo is set against a small square made using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  Each heart is also stamped in a different color ink!  For these, I used Berry Burst, Melon Mambo, and Real Red.  I also applied the hearts with dimensionals to add some extra detail and make them pop a little!

After I finished these, I thought for a bit about adding some additional embellishments, but I decided against it.  I love their simplicity, and thought they looked best as is  These little notes fit perfectly in Stampin’ Up’s  3 x 3 Whisper White envelopes, and would be perfect to tuck into lunch boxes, or for use as gift tags!

Floral Thank You Card with Products from THREE Catalogs!

Today’s card features products from the Annual Catalog and Occasions Catalog, as well as two carryover products from the Holiday Catalog!  The floral strip is from the Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper (Occasions), the sentiment and leaves behind it are from the Painted Autumn Suite (Holiday), and the little flowers are cut from a die in the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits (Annual).  While only the Annual and Occasions Catalog are current right now, the Painted Autumn items are still available in the Holiday Favorites section of the online store!  Colors for this card are as follows:

I also added a silver Metallic Foil Doily, as well as silver Metallic Enamel shapes to the centers of the flowers for a bit of shine!
I like the simple layout of this card, and the colors remind me of Spring!  Yesterday my kids had yet another snow day (it’s probably the 5th or 6th one this year!)  What was forecasted to be a “dusting to an inch” of snow ended up being 6-7 inches!  And while we had fun and the snow is really pretty, I am definitely looking forward to warmer temps and flowers this spring!  🙂
Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Enjoy your day!
