Tranquil Tulips and Lined Alphabet Scrapbook Page

My project today is probably my favorite project of all my display board samples! It is a 12 x 12 inch scrapbook page of my son and me picking tulips last year at a local tulip farm.  This project combines NEW product from the upcoming catalog with both current and retiring product. The new products are the Love What You Do and Lined Alphabet stamp sets, and the current/retiring product is the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper and the Tranquil Tulips stamp set.  All colors are also current, and are STAYING current, even when the current annual catalog retires on May 31st!

The base of this project is a pattern from the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper.  It is a subtle wood grain pattern in Early Espresso and neutral shades, which I love against the bright colors of the flowers and letters!  Here is the full color palette for this project:

For the background color of each of the letters, I used the large watercolor stamp from the new Love What You Do stamp set.  I stamped off the color one time, and then stamped it again, so that the colors were a little more muted and not as bright as they are full strength.  I then stamped the letters I needed in Early Espresso ink, and punched them with the 1-3/4 inch circle punch.  The back layer of each circle was cut from Very Vanilla card stock using the Layering Circle Framelits, and measures 1-7/8 inches.  The watercolor stamp gives almost a weathered look to the colored background of each circle, which you can see if you look closely in the pic below:

I stamped the tulips in the same colors, using the Tranquil Tulips stamp set, which is ONLY available for “purchase” using Host Rewards!  (But it IS available until May 31st, so if you place an order of $150 or more before then, you can still earn this set!)  I purposely did not clean off the stamps as well as I should have so that the colors would blend a bit.  You can see this blending better in the yellow/orange tulips:

I adhered the letters and tulips with Dimensionals to give them a little height off the paper, but kept the pictures adhered with regular Snail adhesive.  I matted the pictures with Lemon Lime Twist cardstock to match the stems and leaves of the tulips and also to add a little more pop of color to the page!

This was a fun project to commemorate a fun day with my little guy!  If you are ever in the southern New England area between late April and mid-May, you must plan a visit to Wicked Tulips Flower Farm in Johnston, RI!  It is one of my favorite places in the world, and I am so lucky that it is only 30 minutes from my house!  I absolutely LOVE tulips, so I try to go once a week while they are open!  To check out their website, click HERE.

Sitting Pretty Bulldog Birthday Card

Today’s card was made with the new Sitting Pretty stamp set, available June 1st in the NEW Annual Catalog!  This card features a cute little bulldog with a bow tie, party hat, and a balloon.  The colors and patterns of this card make it a perfect masculine birthday card!  The bulldog was made with two step stamping stamps.  The outline of the bulldog is one stamp, and the light brown coloring is the second stamp.  You can see both stamps in the full stamp set below:

I combined this set with Wood Textures and True Gentleman Designer Series Papers; the Perennial Birthday and Bird Banter stamp sets; and Night Of Navy 3/8″ (1 Cm) Corduroy Ribbon and Regals Enamel Shapes.  The balloon and party hat were also colored with Night of Navy Stampin’ Blends.

Some elements of this card were also popped up with Dimensionals to give a little added height and texture!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Crumb Cake card base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Wood Textures DSP layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

Early Espresso Layer:  3 x 4-1/4 inches

Very Vanilla top layer:  2-7/8 x 4-1/8 inches

Very Vanilla banner piece cut from scraps

The stamp set and Wood Textures DSP will be available in the new Annual Catalog. However, the True Gentleman DSP, Regals Enamel Shapes, Bird Banter stamp set, and Night of Navy Corduroy Ribbon are retiring May 31st!  Be sure to stock up on these products while they are still available!  You can shop retiring products HERE.

Here’s a close up of the bulldog.  I think he’s so cute with his little bow tie and party hat!

I hope you’ve enjoyed my project today!  Please let me know if you have any questions!  Thanks for checking in!

No Bones About It Card

I have two small boys.  They are 3 and 6!  At any given time, the conversation in our house inevitably involves Star Wars, construction equipment, Legos, or dinosaurs!  This card was made with my boys in mind.  It features the No Bones About It stamp set and the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper.  The color palette for this card is:

Of course, Whisper White is in there as well! The No Bones About It stamp set includes 18 photopolymer stamps.  It contains 4 different dinosaurs, as well as coordinating skeletons/bones for each.  It also includes tracks, leaves, dots, and some sentiments!  Here is what is included in the full set:

The measurements for this card are as follows:
Emerald Envy card base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)
Night of Navy middle layer:  5-1/4 x 4 inches
Naturally Eclectic DSP top layer:  5-1/8 x 3-7/8 inches
Whisper White scraps for Stitched Shapes circles and dinosaur piece

This card was fun to make!  I need to use this set more often!  It’s a simple design, but my kids loved it when I showed them.  Now I need to make another one so they can each have one!
Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy your day!

Petals & More Get Well Card

Today’s project features the Petals & More Thinlits Dies, as well as the Sheet Music Background Stamp and Wood Textures Designer Series Paper.  The get well sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  One color I don’t use a lot is yellow, so for this card I decided to go with yellow flowers, (or more specifically, So Saffron!)  This card was specifically made for a team member who recently had surgery.  I hope she likes it!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Thick Whisper White Cardstock base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half.)

White Wood Texture DSP layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

Crumb Cake Layer:  3-1/8 x 4-1/8 inches

Whisper White top layer:  3 x 4 inches

For the die cuts, I used mostly scraps from my scrap bins in the following colors:  Pear Pizzazz, Wild Wasabi, Vellum, So Saffron, and Whisper White.

All of the die cuts were applied with Multipurpose Glue lightly sponged on the back with 1/4 of a Stampin’ Sponge (they are super easy to cut into pieces!)  The vines and leaves were all adhered with the glue.  The flowers were adhered with thin strips of Stampin’ Dimensionals to give them a little height and dimension.  I finished it off by wrapping linen thread around the layers, and applying some pearls to the centers of the flowers!

And last but not least, the sentiment piece was stamped in Soft Suede and punched with the Classic Label punch!  I have to admit, this card was a little labor intensive, but I love the end result!

Thanks for visiting today!  Have a great day!

Springtime Foils and Beautiful Day Birthday Card PLUS NEW Sale-a-Bration Offerings

Thank you for checking in today!  It’s definitely been awhile since my last post!  Last Wednesday night, we had a huge snowstorm on the East Coast that knocked out my cable, internet, and phone for three days.  Then on Friday, I woke up with a little sniffle and chest congestion that ended up turning into four days sick in bed.  It was a pretty rough week!  Although everything is back up and running tech wise, I am still not feeling 100% better, though am at the point where I feel good enough to start posting again!  If you checked in while I was out, I apologize that there was nothing new for a bit!  Thanks so much for checking back!  🙂

Today’s card was made with the Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper and Beautiful Day stamp set.  Early last week, I posted a card made with a different design of this paper, which I had colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  (See it HERE.)  For today’s card, I left the paper as is, and just added a gold foil layer, as well as a gold heat embossed sentiment.  I love the foil designs and accents of the paper, and think it’s elegant enough that it needs very little extra embellishment!  I think this card would also make a very pretty wedding card…the birthday sentiment would just have to be switched to a wedding one!

Don’t forget, the Springtime Foils Paper is only available with a $50 purchase (before tax and shipping) during Sale-a-Bration!  There’s only a couple of weeks left, so scoop this paper up while you have the chance!  The final day of Sale-a-Bration is March 31st!

Speaking of Sale-a-Bration, Stampin’ Up! just released a whole new set of items that can be earned for FREE between now and March 31st!  These are regular catalog items that can be earned with a $50-100 purchase!  The only catch is that you need to use the special Sale-a-Bration item numbers shown below to get them for free.  Using the regular catalog numbers will add them to your cart at the regular catalog price!  Check out the new items just added below:

To shop, please visit the online store HERE.

Here’s a last look at today’s card so you can see the shine of the paper and sentiment!  Isn’t that gold and silver just gorgeous?

Thanks again for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Coloring Springtime Foils Paper with Stampin’ Blends Markers

The Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper is one of three new rewards items, now available during Sale-a-bration!  It was released on February 16th, and can ONLY be earned with a $50 purchase (before tax and shipping) through March 31st!  This gorgeous new paper features 3 sheets each of 4 different foil designs on white paper, and measures 12 x 12 inches in size.  All of the designs are printed in silver, gold, and/or rose gold foil, giving a very elegant look to this paper!  Patterns include polka dots, florals, and stripes:

For today’s card, I used the second pattern shown in the picture above.  It features large roses and leaves in rose gold foil.  I colored the paper with Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends Markers, and used both the light and dark versions of each color.  The paper is very thick, with an almost glossy finish, so the finished result of the blending is different than on regular paper, but is still very pretty!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Thick Whisper White card base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored at 4-1/4 inches and folded in half)

Basic Black middle layer:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

DSP Layer:  3-7/8 x 5-1/8 inches

Basic Black and Whisper White scraps for sentiment piece

I used a sentiment from the Ribbon of Courage stamp set, as well as the Pretty Label punch to frame it.  To make the backing layer of the sentiment, I cut a piece of Basic Black cardstock with the same punch and cut it in half lengthwise, then adhered it to the back of the stamped sentiment piece, slightly offset to look like a separate layer.  I also embellished the card with 3/8 inch Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon, as well as pearls colored with the dark Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Blends Marker to match the color of the flowers!

While I love the look of this paper with added color, it also looks great as is!  (You can find some gorgeous samples on Pinterest, or just by simply Googling “Stampin’ Up Springtime Foils Paper”.)  I will be posting another card later this week where I did not color the paper (though with a different pattern from the package).  I hope you’ll check back later this week to see it!

Remember, Sale-a-Bration is ending March 31st!  Once it’s over, this gorgeous paper will be gone for good!  To get yours, simply place an order of $50 or more in the online store before March 31st!

Thanks for checking in today!  Enjoy your day!

A Rustic and Simply Stated Sympathy Card

Sympathy cards are hard for me to make.  It’s always hard to make a card for someone who is dealing with so much sadness.  For that reason, I try to keep sympathy cards simple, both in their design and message.

This card features the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper and Flourish Thinlits.  The sentiment is from the  Better Together stamp set, and is framed with a die from the Petals & More Thinlits set.  It is embellished with Linen Thread and Pearl Basic Jewels.  The pearls were colored with the Ivory Stampin’ Blends Marker to match the Very Vanilla cardstock used throughout the card.

It’s hard to tell from the pictures, but the sentiment is stamped in Fresh Fig ink.  I did this in order to give this card just the slightest hint of color.  The rest of the card is very muted and simple, and I wanted to break it up a bit, but not in a way that was too bold or glaring.  I really love how the Fresh Fig looks against the neutral colors in this card!

I’m very happy with how this card came out, even though it was made for such a sad occasion!

Amazing You and Celebrate You Thinlits Card

I just got back from five days in the Dominican Republic.  Such a beautiful country!  (But really bad internet!)  It was very nice to get away, but I am happy to be home.  Even if the temperature is 50 degrees colder here!  🙂

Today’s project was made with the Amazing You stamp set and Celebrate You Thinlits.  Both items are available for FREE with a qualifying purchase during Sale-a-Bration, and are designed to coordinate with each other perfectly!  You can get the stamp set with a $50 purchase, and the coordinating thinlits with a $100 purchase.  If you’d like BOTH, spend $150 before tax and shipping and get these two items PLUS $15 in Stampin’ Rewards (=FREE STUFF) as well!  That’s a great deal!

Besides the stamp set and thinlits, this card also features the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper colored with Stampin’ Blends.  The colors I used are Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, and Old Olive.  The DSP is layered with Cherry Cobbler cardstock and mounted with Stampin’ Dimensionals on a Basic Black card base.  The “celebrate” is cut from Silver Foil Sheets, as well as the three small dots, which I cut using a die from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies.  For all of the die cuts, I applied a small piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet to the back of the silver foil before running it through the Big Shot.  When I was ready to apply to the card, I just peeled off the paper backing and adhered to the card.  The adhesive sheets make applying adhesive to die cuts very easy, as well as keeps them neat and clean!

Here’s a pic of what’s on the inside of this card:

The “amazing” is stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink and the “YOU” is stamped in Basic Black.  The card is finished with some Rhinestones for a little added sparkle and shine!

A Quick and Easy Thank You with Designer Series Paper Strips

Here’s a quick and easy Thank You card made with leftover Designer Series Paper strips.  This card is not only super easy to make, but is also a great way to use up those small pieces of DSP that you may have laying around!  I don’t like to waste ANYTHING, so when my upline posted a challenge for us to create a card very similar to this, I thought it was a great way to use up leftover DSP!  You can very easily switch up the look of this card by switching the paper, ribbon, punch, and sentiment.  For this one, I used the Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper, along with a Thank You sentiment from the Petal Palette stamp set.  I also used the 3/8 inch Powder Pink Shimmer Ribbon, Pretty Label Punch, and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.

Here are the measurements of the different pieces you will need for this card:

Card Base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches (scored and folded in half)

DSP strips: 1 x 3 inches each

Backing layer for DSP strips:  3-1/4 x 4-1/4 inches

Punch piece and Glimmer Paper: big enough for whatever punch or die you use for the sentiment  (cut the punched glimmer paper piece in half lengthwise and adhere with glue dots to the back of the sentiment.  You want it to be offset a bit to look layered).

Once you have all of your pieces, adhere the DSP strips to the backing with Snail Adhesive (or other adhesive of your choice).  Adhere a piece of ribbon across the strips, fold the end pieces under, and adhere to the back.  Then mount onto your card base.  Assemble your sentiment piece and adhere to the card with Dimensionals.  For this card, I didn’t want to embellish too much, as the paper has silver foil accents, which I think dresses it up nicely as is.  So I just added a couple of silver Metallic Enamel Shapes, and the card was complete!  Super easy and quick!

Thanks for checking in today!  Have a great day!

We Must Celebrate…a Happy Birthday!

A couple of weeks ago, I did a poll on my Facebook page asking people which stamp set they would like to see me get and make projects with.  The stamp set We Must Celebrate got the most votes, hands down!  This very cute set was already on my wish list, but I hadn’t had a chance to get it.  This gave me a reason to finally order it!

For the first card I made with this set, I wanted to keep it simple.  I stamped the little animals and colored them with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  I then cut them out with the Lots of Labels Framelits.  I used a piece of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper for the background and wrapped a piece of linen thread around it a couple of times before mounting it to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I then heat embossed the sentiment in white, trimmed it to 1/2 inch wide, and then cut the ends with the Triple Banner Punch.  The sentiment is also mounted with dimensionals.  And that’s it!  I had planned to add a linen thread bow and put a heart somewhere, but when I added them, it looked a little cluttered!  So I decided to just leave the extras off.  Sometimes, you just gotta keep it simple!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
